Each MintID gold and silver product is equipped with a locked and AES-128 bit encrypted NFC micro-chip giving each product is own unique digital identity. Unlike QR codes, barcodes, and florescent inks MintID custom encrypted micro-chips cannot be cloned or duplicated. Tried to say I forgot password and it said email sent successfully. Never received email, so now I can’t even get into the app. Tried to start over and said account already exists. Horrible! ### 1/5 — Bad *2025-10-13, version 1.0* Unreliable. Fails to scan consistently, now shows errors for bars that scanned successfully in the past. What’s the point if the app doesn’t work? ### 1/5 — App for iPhone needs to be fixed. *2025-09-22, version 1.0* I have 3 different silver products with this feature, and all 3 do not seem to detected by this app. Very disappointed with this app!!!!! ### 1/5 — App is broke *2025-08-25, version 1.0* App does not work. If you can’t rely on the app to function all the time to verify the metal, it’s not very useful. UPDATE: went from 2 to 3 stars. And you can use it as a guest so no need to log in. For my iPhone 12, I keep the phone case ON so I face my phone toward the chip. Then tilt the top of my phone down onto it at an angle. I looked up a YouTube video how to nfc read yas I did struggle to do it intuitively ### 2/5 — Great idea *2023-11-22, version 1.0* Great app when it works, problem is it is contrary at times. I have recently discovered that every time I get ready to use this app, it doesn’t show the login screen, just goes straight to “Ready to Scan Screen “ and always an error message about zero info. I have to delete the app and reinstall it. When I do, I get the opportunity to enter my login info and it works great again until I close it out and try to use it again. It doesn’t ask if I want to save that info but doesn’t give me the opportunity to enter it. Really glad I found a work around so I can scan all my metals as I receive them. Maybe a settings option to save or not save login info would be great. ### 4/5 — Works good after you figure out how to make it work *2023-07-10, version 1.0* To make it work you need to tap the top of the back of your phone to the coin.
