## What is MintMonitor?

MintMonitor projects your balance forward, one day at a time.

Most budgeting apps are good at telling you where the money went. MintMonitor tells you where it's going: bills and paychecks land on their real dates instead of being smoothed into a monthly average, so you can see the day your balance dips while there's still time to do something about it.

YOUR BALANCE, THREE MONTHS AHEAD
• Every day between today and three months out, with the balance at the close of each one
• Read it as three figures or as a balance chart, drawn from the same day-by-day walk
• The low point in each cycle, dated — a tight week is visible before you reach it
• Cleared and pending kept apart, so you know what's actually in the account

A PROJECTED CALENDAR YOU CAN READ TWO WAYS
• A month grid showing each day's net movement and the balance after it
• Or a table: one row per day, with income, expenses and the projected balance in their own columns
• Tap any day to see what it's made of — every bill, paycheck and budgeted amount behind the figure
• Pick the one the dashboard opens in, and switch whenever you like

BILLS AND PAYCHECKS ON THEIR REAL DATES
• Bills weekly, every two weeks, monthly, quarterly or annual
• Paychecks weekly, every two weeks, twice a month or monthly
• Add a bill as paid, or drop one from the month when it isn't happening
• Reminders ahead of a due date, and a follow-up if one goes past due

BUDGETS THAT MATCH HOW YOU'RE PAID
• A budget per category, by week, two weeks, half-month or month
• Dated bills come out of their budget rather than on top of it
• Alerts when a category is near its limit or over it — you pick the point
• Start your budget cycle on the day you're actually paid, not the 1st
• Choose which day your weeks begin, separately from that cycle

WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING
• Spending broken down by category over 30, 60 or 90 days, or six months
• Income against expenses, month by month
• Savings goals with a target amount and a target date, editable as plans change
• Reserve a goal's contribution as a budget, on the day the money actually moves

SET UP IN ONE SITTING
• A guided walkthrough for your starting balance, income and budgets
• Suggested budgets to start from, rather than a blank page
• Set up mid-month and the first cycle scales to the days that are left
• A tour of the app whenever you want it again

YOUR TRANSACTIONS, AND YOUR WAY OUT
• Filter by date, type, cleared status or category, and save the view you use most
• Export your full history to CSV whenever you want it

BACKED UP AND IN STEP
• Cloud backup after changes, restored on any device you sign in to
• Sign in with Apple, and delete your account and its data from inside the app

BUILT TO BE PLAIN
• Every figure traceable to what produced it — no unexplained numbers
• Dark and light themes
• Eight currencies
• A glossary of every term the app uses

NO BANK CONNECTION
MintMonitor never asks for your bank login. You enter what you earn and what you owe, and every projection is built from that.

SUBSCRIPTION
MintMonitor Access unlocks the whole app — no limited tier, no upsells inside. Choose monthly or annual, starting with a free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings.

## Frequently asked questions about MintMonitor

### What is MintMonitor's main purpose?

MintMonitor's main purpose is to project your balance forward, one day at a time, up to three months in the future. It helps you see where your money is going by placing bills and paychecks on their actual dates, unlike apps that average them out.

### How does MintMonitor show future balances?

MintMonitor displays your projected balance for each day up to three months ahead. You can view this as a series of figures or as a balance chart, with the low point in each cycle clearly dated so you can prepare for tight weeks.

### Can MintMonitor handle different bill and paycheck frequencies?

Yes, MintMonitor supports various frequencies for bills and paychecks, including weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual. You can also mark bills as paid or remove them from a month if they aren't occurring.

### How does MintMonitor help with budgeting?

MintMonitor allows you to create budgets per category on a weekly, bi-weekly, half-monthly, or monthly basis. It accounts for dated bills within their respective budgets and provides alerts when a category is nearing or has exceeded its limit.

### Does MintMonitor connect to my bank accounts?

No, MintMonitor does not connect to your bank accounts and never asks for your bank login information. You manually enter your income and expenses to maintain control and security over your financial data.

### What are the setup and export options in MintMonitor?

MintMonitor offers a guided walkthrough for initial setup and provides suggested budgets. You can also filter transactions by date, type, or category and save your preferred views. Your full transaction history can be exported to CSV at any time.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-22

New accounts now start in your phone's own currency - euros, pounds, Canadian or Australian dollars, yen, rupees or pesos - instead of always US dollars. Existing accounts keep the currency they already use, and you can still change it any time in Settings.

If the sign-in service can't be reached, you now get a plain message saying so, instead of a technical error.

A clearer subscription screen for people starting out: it shows what MintMonitor does, and lays out the free trial step by step - what you get today, that you can cancel at any point during it at no cost, and when the first charge would be.

Setup no longer loses an income you filled in but didn't add: Next now adds it for you, and says what's missing if it's only half filled in.

The guided tour moves more smoothly, fading from one step to the next, and the dashboard is explained in two steps instead of one crowded one.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-10

Your monthly income, expenses and net now cover the whole month - what you have logged, plus the pay still expected, the bills still due and the budget still to be spent - so they compare like with like against last month. Each figure says how much of itself is still ahead.

New: read your projections as a chart as well as figures, on one scale above and below zero.
New: choose which day your weeks start on, separately from your budget reset day.
New: edit a goal after creating it, point its contribution at a budget, and give it a day of the month.

Fixed: a budget that spreads across the month now counts today as yours to spend. Its allowance appears on the day it starts, at its full value, instead of from the following day.

Fixed: a bill paid early is credited to the month it was for, not the month you paid it in.
Fixed: the cash flow chart draws the current month as a projection instead of a finished one.
Fixed: every weekly allowance now says which dates it covers.

One-off: weeks are now anchored to a weekday, so a weekly allowance you had removed from the current month comes back once. Remove it again and it stays gone.
