## What is Minus 5?

Minus 5 is a daily focus list for people tired of bottomless todo apps.

You get five slots. That's it. Finish them and the ring closes — you've earned the day. Leave something undone and it carries over with an age badge so you see exactly how long it's been dodging you. Most apps count up forever; Minus 5 counts down to zero. Five minus done equals what's left.

— THE RING —
One neon progress ring is the entire interface. As you tap things off, it fills. The big number in the middle is what's left, not what you've done. When it hits zero, the subtitle whispers "you've earned the day." Close the app. Go outside.

— RECURRING THINGS (NEW) —
Tap the ring to set up daily, weekly, monthly, or custom-day recurring tasks. They auto-appear on your list each scheduled day, and the notification tells you exactly what — no more generic "tackle your things." Stretch every morning. Pay rent on the 1st. Gym Mon/Wed/Fri. Set it once, forget the rest.

— LEVELS —
Consistency unlocks capacity. Start with 5 slots a day. Hit streaks, finish things, and earn your way to Level 2 (8 slots), Level 3 (12), all the way up. The app rewards follow-through, not list-making. Need more headroom for a busy week? A long-press in Settings bumps your level manually.

— AGE BADGES —
Anything you don't finish today carries into tomorrow with a small 1d / 4d / 2w tag. The badge color warms from grey → yellow → orange → red the longer something sits. It's a nudge, not a punishment. Delete what's not actually going to happen. You'll feel better.

— WEEKLY REVIEW (NEW) —
Open Settings → "This week" for a bar chart of your last 7 days, your total, your best day, your average, and your current streak. Honest numbers, no dashboards.

— EXPORT (NEW) —
Copy your list as Markdown, share it via the iOS share sheet, or send each thing straight to Things 3 or Reminders. Your data is portable.

— WIDGETS EVERYWHERE —
• Lock Screen — circular, rectangular, inline
• StandBy mode for your nightstand
• Home Screen — small and medium tiles
• Daily reminders at times you pick

— SIRI & SHORTCUTS —
"Hey Siri, add a thing to Minus 5." Works from the lock screen, AirPods, CarPlay, anywhere Siri lives. Build bigger Shortcuts to capture tasks from other apps.

— CALENDAR MIRROR (optional) —
Pull today's calendar events in as read-only one-liners ("Meeting · 6–8pm"). They don't count toward leveling and don't carry over — just context.

— iCLOUD SYNC —
Your things sync privately across your devices via your own iCloud account. No servers, no accounts, no tracking, no telemetry.

— THEME & ACCESSIBILITY —
Light, Dark, or System. Nine neon accent colors. Picks contrasting text automatically so nothing turns illegible. Text size override (Default / Large / Larger / Huge) for when you want it bigger without changing the whole iPhone.

— RESET TODAY (NEW) —
Long-press the Reset button in Settings to wipe today's list and start fresh — useful for testing, mood pivots, or just bad mornings.

— A QUICK TOUR —
First launch gets a 5-step welcome with the philosophy. After that, an in-app walkthrough points at the ring, sidebar, manual cap, weekly review, and input bar — once per major version. Replay either tour anytime from Settings.

No ads. No subscription. No analytics. No tags. No projects. Just five things.
