Real Life

How fun is this daily real life snap of our lives. And to connect us with others all over the world. We are all more alike than we realize. Maybe it’s time to stop watching the news and maybe it’s time to know each other. ❤️❤️

Not good

My partner accidentally took a photo showing private bank information. Customer support weren’t helpful. They said ‘just mark the picture as private’. There is NO facility to do that. Unimpressed. Deleted,

FAQ

What is minutiae: Real Life?

minutiae: Real Life is an art project and an anti-social media app designed to help participants capture ordinary, unscripted moments of their daily lives. It prompts users at a random minute each day to take a photo of whatever is in front of them, fostering reflection on the value of these everyday experiences.

How does the daily capture process work?

Once each day, at a random minute, all participants globally receive a simultaneous alert. You have exactly one minute to open the app and capture the moment in front of you. After capturing, you have another 60 seconds to explore your own previous moments and those of one random stranger.

Is this app free to use?

No, this app operates on a subscription model. Your payment is charged to your iTunes account upon purchase confirmation, and subscriptions automatically renew unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

What happens to the captured moments?

Over 1440 days, the app creates a digital archive of all your captured moments. This archive serves as a long-term collaboration between the artist and participant, and there is an option to turn this archive into a physical book.

What is the purpose of this app?

The app aims to be a response to current social media trends, offering an anonymous alternative that focuses on documenting the 'in-between' moments of life. It celebrates the ordinary, retrieves forgotten memories, and acts as an automated self-portrait of your real life, uncurated and unfiltered.
