## What is Miqat?

Prayer times that never leave your phone.

Miqat has no networking code in it. Not a disabled tracker, not an analytics SDK you can
switch off. There is no code in this app that can open a connection, which means there is
nothing to send anywhere and nothing to sell. You can verify that yourself with any proxy
in about five minutes.

Everything is computed on the device from the position of the sun, the same astronomy every
printed timetable uses. That is why it works in airplane mode, at 11,000 metres, in the
desert, and on the road to Umrah with roaming switched off.

The app follows the sun rather than a settings toggle: it is light while the sun is up
where you are, and dark once it has set.

• Reminders keep going when the app sits unopened. The top-up that refills the schedule in the background was failing, so after about twelve days the calls simply stopped.

• Diyanet times verified against the official table for every day of the year: within two minutes, every day.
