### 3/5 — Want to love but….

*2026-08-02, version 4.55*

This is basically a commercial app using old code before the devs changed the licensing over at VCV Rack.

I don’t think this will ever be updated with new content from the current VCV/Cardinal universe, for those reasons alone.

I still love it. Glad that it exists and all. But don’t buy it though with the hopes of new content added.

### 2/5 — Hard to use

*2026-07-21, version 4.55*

A little too fiddly for my use. Even on an iPad, the controls are too small and knobs too difficult to manipulate. While convenient in theory, I think VCV on a laptop is a lot better for learning and using modular in a virtual environment.

### 3/5 — 😐

*2026-04-11*

1. когда новые модули!?

2. просто добавьте кнопку: сохранить как

——

1. when are the new modules!?

2. just add a button: save as

**Developer response:** Добрый день, можете, пожалуйста, написать на support@mifki.com в чем проблема с автосохранением и/или как бы вы хотели, чтобы это работало? Спасибо.

### 3/5 — The promise Updates

*2026-02-04, version 4.06*

I remember, the promise, of many updates soon. But nothing at all...

### 5/5 — Modular ipad

*2024-09-18, version 4.05*

Very nice, great idea for ipad. Works really well, update, using a e pen works extremely well. Im just one with a rubberend i got free

### 5/5 — Für diesen Preis unschlagbar!

*2024-09-12*

Man kann alles virtuell bauen, was man sich im Eurackuniversum vorstellen kann, der Sound ist klasse und die Bedienbarkeit mitlerweile auch. Die Menge der Modulle ist bei dem Preis eigentlich unvorstellbar.

### 5/5 — Deepest synth app available

*2024-09-05, version 4.05*

What’s to say? It is a full blown eurorack modular in an app. Just the mutable Instruments and befaco modules alone are endless but there are so many modules on here that you’ll never exhaust its potential.

There are certain things that you can’t do that you can with the physical modules but that usually has never stopped me from achieving what I was going for because you can add as many modules as you need to make it happen.

It also has full connectivity via midi so you can integrate it with anything.

This app has turned my iPad into a full fledged eurorack modular system. Bravo

### 5/5 — more modules, please!!!

*2024-07-18*

mirack is great so far. But PLEASE give us the Surge XT and Biset packs. Would be super cool!!! ;-)

### 5/5 — Don’t Hesitate!

*2024-07-11, version 4.05*

I bought Mirack as a 77th birthday present to myself, after a lot of hesitation. My closest approach to modular, so far, had been Drambo.

Is it too complicated? All those modules- how do I find what I want? All that on an iPad screen- am I even going to be able to see it? Will I live long enough to do more than make electronic screeches and bloops?

The first hour with it set my mind at rest. Watch a couple of beginner tutorials (there’s a load of them on YouTube) and you should be good to go.

Is it complicated? Yes, it can be, or it can be as simple as an input module and an oscillator. Go at your own pace, but as you see what Mirack is capable of, expect that pace to accelerate.

It’s well organized, by category and by module dev- and part of the thrill is just picking a module to see what it can do. Each module has a rudimentary user guide; some go into more detail.

Navigation is effortless- pinch, zoom, and scroll makes it easy to get the big picture or make the details as big as you need them to be.

I can’t think of another $15 purchase that delivers such a near-infinite array of possibilities.

Amd that big question, will I live long enough to get good sounds out of it? I’ve had it a day and I’ve barely scratched the surface and am already amazed. I’m pretty sure you will be, too. For the price of a burger and fries you can’t go wrong.

### 4/5 — Amazing just missing one thing

*2024-06-19, version 4.05*

Its awesome, it is missing a 16ch version that works within Logic Pro when using multichannel surround tracks.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2024-05-26, version 4.05*

Module selection is a little sparse but it works great and its definitely enough modules to keep you busy and do most things

### 5/5 — Dope

*2024-05-18, version 4.05*

Dope

### 5/5 — Best app period

*2024-02-15, version 4.04*

If you like modular this is just the coolest thing. I have vcv2 rack and this is a more cut down version but there is still endless fun with a ton of modules.

### 5/5 — The app is great!

*2024-01-28, version 4.04*

I love using this app. Is amazing

Note for dev team. Since last update I have significant low volume on my headphones that are connected using the usb c jack adapter on my iPad Pro 11. In fact when I connect them I’m unable to change the volume at all

### 5/5 — Mi Rack is one app, a million effects

*2024-01-03*

There’s a bit of a learning curve, but this app is so diverse.

Want a vocoder? Gotcha. Want an audio to midi converter? Gotcha. Want a synth? Gotcha. Reverb? Take your pick. Amp modelling, distortion, echos, delays, mixers, drum synths, physical modelling resonance, midi transposer, input midi notes and output control change, whatever you want to do musically, you can probably do it in mirack.

Once you know how to use it, this app is a powerhouse.

### 5/5 — Really good.

*2023-11-27, version 3.87*

It’s modular synthesis, not just something similar. It doesn’t hold your hand for better or worse. I think it’s well worth the price, there’s heaps of modules.
I don’t know what more you can want from mobile modular synthesis.

### 5/5 — Sound utility

*2023-11-11, version 3.86*

This is a great way to comprehend sound design , music production and audio engineering!!!!

I use it for a more complex understanding yet check out

Seriously, so good. Thank you to the developers.

### 5/5 — Dope

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — rip off

*2025-02-07, version 4.05*

just use vcv rack

### 1/5 — Super buggy

*2022-01-20, version 3.69*

Crashes all the time! Bummed out. :(

### 1/5 — VCV Rack knockoff

*2021-10-30*

Not sure, wheather the company has any relation to vcv rack. Cause the software is basically a vcv rack knockoff.

vcv is open source so get that an do not support companys with your money for other peoples work.

If there's a license with vcv the developers could maybe comment underneath.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t work

*2021-04-13*

I bought the app yesterday and now crashes all the time on the IPad Pro 2020. I’ve uninstalled it and installed again but it doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Mixed Blessing

*2020-08-07, version 3.05*

This app was based on VCVRack but without asking permission. Because VCVRack switched licensing model when it hit v1 this app is taken from an older version of that program so it isn’t as advanced as the latest VCV.
Crappy ethics aside it’s a good modular synth environment and the best i know of for ios (IMO).
One star for appropriating VCVRack without permission and being a jerk when confronted but it’s probably a 4 star app with room to improve.
Edit: more likely a 5 star app.

### 1/5 — Wichtige Standard Module fehlen

*2020-06-06*

### 1/5 — Help!

*2020-03-11, version 2.02*

I’ve given up on this I’m afraid to say. A little help for a novice (like me) would help. At the moment I’m left with what looks like a lot of potential and more than a little frustration. Step-by-step tuition from simple to complex would seem essential but there’s nothing to absorb or inspire me. This is clearly intended for someone a lot more savvy than me and that’s disappointing.

### 1/5 — Give us a bloody clue.

*2020-01-25, version 2.01*

I bought this based on the reviews only to find that the manual, such as it is, gives no instructions on how to get started. I’m not stupid, I understand how to set up midi controllers and audio inputs and outputs, but how do I use this with a midi controller and is that even possible? I see that there are midi modules but there’s nothing to explain what to connect. My Korg nanoKey Studio shows up as a controller but it’s impossible to connect it to anything. Nothing works and I’m faced with various badly labelled modules and so far guessing what connects where has failed to produce any sound whatsoever.

A few simple diagrams showing some basic setups would have been helpful, but I’ve wasted 4 hours on something I can’t get any sound out of. I’m sorry to say that this is not a very user friendly app and I would not recommend this to anyone.

### 1/5 — Another $9.99 for the iPhone version?

*2020-01-16, version 2.01*

I love mirack, but i feel really disappointed when i couldn't download it on my iphone, since i've already purchased on my iPad, is this a mistake?

### 1/5 — Another $10.00 for the iPhone version. Hmmmm.

*2020-01-12, version 2.01*

I think the title says it all. Not only does this app require a BS in Electrical Engineering to get *any*sense of where to start, but there is a cultish air among users who have been posting about it. I’m sure that this complaint among the users who take the time to read this review a smile; “that’s another we’ve scared off”. Guess they’ve got their BS too.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The Controller Panel!!

*2026-03-27, version 4.53*

A MiRack lover for 3+ years, being on a break from due to no MiRack update, logging in 3 days ago, seeing the V4.50 update (!!!) I was happy!

But then, the Controller Panel? In ~2 1/2 days, I’ve used it as the beginning panel for a new:

- double 4 Step binary pitch sequencer!
- individual clock for each of the 8 steps! FWD/REV control for each
- 2 to 8 steps for each Step’s pitch
- 4 binary pitch buttons = 16 diff. Pitches for each step.
- quad quantizer

More coming 8n the future, depending on Panel upgrades.
Will be freely available. (Is now, early as is, at Reddit.)

WtG MiRack ciders!!!,

### 5/5 — Insane!

*2025-12-28, version 4.06*

This app along Koala Sampler are the 2 best music apps on the App Store

### 5/5 — AUv3 is great - VST and ASIO?

*2025-11-07, version 4.06*

Now that VST and ASIO are open source, it would be an amazing new addition. AUv3 support with the in-app purchase has unlocked such great utility.

### 5/5 — Money saver

*2025-08-26, version 4.06*

I was considering getting into modular sythesis, then I found this, which showed me how expensive and futile the hobby would be for me. Definitely do this before spending money on that empty Eurorack case.

### 5/5 — Modeler

*2025-02-16, version 4.05*

Seq

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-02-14, version 4.05*

Great app. Perfect for sound design on the go

### 5/5 — Новые модули

*2025-02-10*

Все здорово, но когда новые модули?

### 5/5 — it is what it shows on the tin

*2025-01-07, version 4.05*

I don’t think there’s any real reason to get another modular app on iOS. This doesn’t have an exhaustive list of modules but it’s 700 or so, and you can wire them up by hand via touchscreen, which is really intuitive. I also really enjoy being able to pause and save, which I couldn’t do in my real modular (..). There’s a few modules that I used to use missing, but the analogs are close enough and it’s a really fun environment. :)

### 5/5 — 🎚️🎛️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎛️🎛️

*2024-12-30, version 4.05*

eurorack на ipad/iphone это супер!!!
Большое Спасибо!!!

### 5/5 — Just amazing

*2024-10-08*

I started using this software several years ago and have absolutely loved it. I am constantly learning and coming up with interesting patch ideas. It’s also helped me understand music production processes through experimentation and play. I bought a launchpad XL that pairs super well with the app. Controlling a patch with physical knobs and buttons is next level fun.
