Thank you! ### 5/5 — Love the app, but wish usability was better *2021-12-06* First of all, I’ll say that I love the content of this app, in fact I love all of cracking the cryptic’s apps. However, I’ve found that the user interface can be hard for me to use. I have a disability that is related to my eyesight, and I would like more options to mess with things like the font size. Additionally, the default color schemes of a few of the apps don’t have much contrast between the lightest and darkest colors, and might not be user friendly to those with color blindness. Still, I really don’t feel comfortable giving this app anything less than 5 stars, because the content is so singularly wonderful! ### 5/5 — Love it! One suggestion *2021-07-08* I love this app, and all the sudoku variants. Regular sudoku seems strange after these, because they add so much. One request- could you change it so that I can look at the completed puzzle for a minute after I finish? It steps on the satisfaction of winning when it just disappears the instant I'm done. To an individual puzzle, they have been great! There is something in each one (Regular, Thermo, Killer, Sandwich, Miracle and - soon - Arrow) for every skill level. We’ll done. ### 4/5 — Fun app *2021-02-04* Is there a way to go back to the square grid format for finding which puzzle you were on? It was a way better intuitive UI/UX experience than the list. Other than that excellent app for the sudoku part and very fun for passing the time. The puzzles are always fun and challenging. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Frustrating UI *2024-08-05, version 1.5* Please update this app to include the UI improvements added in the Cracking The Cryptic app. The older UI is incredibly frustrating once you have gotten used to the new one. ### 1/5 — Misrepresented *2022-04-06* They claim that there will be 100 puzzles in the first year. As of now there are three version releases and multiple reviews all listed as 1y ago, but only 80 puzzles. No response from support when I put the question to them. Is it really asking a lot to expect them to do what they claim as part of the deal? No, but they already have your money by then of course. ### 1/5 — Broken Promise *2022-01-31, version 1.4* The app description says it will be enhanced to 100 puzzles within a year of introduction. It has now been over 18 months and we are still waiting. ### 2/5 — Schönes Design, extrem einfach *2023-03-19* Das Spiel ist schön designt. Auch die Bedienung lässt keine Wünsche offen. Allerdings ist das Spiel extrem einfach zu „schlagen“, wenn auffällt, dass sich entweder die Dreierreihe oder die Dreierspalte innerhalb eines Neunerfeldes in jedem der anderen acht Neunerfelder identisch wiederholt. Getestet in den ersten 20 Levels und in ausgewählten weiteren. I should have just bought a pack on that one. The UI is really different and my brain just can’t get used to it, and I hate the star system because you have to do a bunch of boring puzzles before you can do any actually interesting ones. ### 3/5 — Why do we have to complete them in order? *2023-07-04* This is a stupid requirement and has left me stuck on a puzzle type I hate after only 3 puzzles. Wish I could get my money back. ### 3/5 — Love the challenge, but…. *2022-08-25* This is a great app and a lot of fun to play, but for one quirk: (almost?) all puzzles seem to have a pattern where the same 3 numbers are repeated in same row or column in every square. For example in the puzzle I just completed, every square has a row with 1,4, 7, a row with 3,6,9 and a row with 2,5,8. Once you recognize the pattern, finishing the puzzle is trivial. Fun and challenging to get to the point that the pattern can be seen. Note to developers: is there a mathematical reason for these patterns? However, the game hasn't been updated for almost half a year and still only has 60 of the promised 100 puzzles. Is there any way we change the programming to stay on the puzzle after it's solved? I love it, please more! ### 5/5 — Really fun but I’ve noticed a pattern in some sudokus *2022-10-23* Great value with tonnes of sudoku puzzles, but with almost all of the non consecutive sudokus I’ve noticed that there will be patterns of the same 3 numbers horizontally or vertically. As in horizontally, each box will have (example)3-6-9 in the same row. I’m not sure if this is a quirk of non consecutive sudokus or something but once I noticed it, completing the sudokus was really quick but it felt like I was cheating in a way with meta knowledge. Either way, great game filled with fantastic puzzles. ### 5/5 — Fantastic *2022-07-30* The puzzles are always fantastic, but the addition of the killer calculator really puts this over the top. When I rotate my phone to landscape, the 'hint' dialogue becomes very thin and vertical without me instigating it. It is also doing it with the first-time arrow sudoku tutorial message. I suspect the instances are related. Otherwise, it's a lovely app and the hint system works well. It has a nice variety. ### 5/5 — Favourite sudoku app *2022-07-09* I watch cracking the cryptic every day and deciding it was time to give a go at variant sudoku. I’ve always loved sudoku but up until this game I had only played normal sudoku rules and killer sudoku. I finished the 100 puzzles and loved every one of them. Currently waiting on chess sudoku to finish downloading! ### 5/5 — Great variety *2022-05-06* I own three of the Cracking the Cryptic apps and this is my favourite so far - I find some of the other apps a bit “samey” and repetitive, applying the same logic to each puzzle. This app has a wonderful variety of puzzles so that you’re always kept on your toes and each puzzle feels like a fresh challenge and forces you to think in different ways, even at the lower difficulty levels.
