Every single time, I enter the code, and then tell it to register my personal device. And every single time, it fails to do this. I would like to use this app without all of the unnecessary friction. First of all they took away the mortgage payment “button”. I couldn’t figure out how to pay my mortgage through the app. Luckily I was reading another bad review and they spelled out how to find it buried deep in menu. Absolutely not user friendly and practically hidden. Another reason this app sucks is now it doesn’t show me when my bills are due or even the current amount due. All this even though I am signed up for ebills. I have missed due dates for the past few months. I can’t believe this app was sold as an upgrade. It is awful. Feels like it was put together as a student project and not a professional app developer. I can no longer add a note about a check that I’m depositing with Mobile deposit. Being able to include info about a check I’m deposited is/was extremely helpful for accounting purposes. So please restore that feature. Also, during the Mobile deposit process, it gives you an option to Submit deposit OR review deposit history. The selections are practically on top of each other and I have accidentally hit the deposit history button, causing me to start the whole mobile deposit process from the beginning, which is frustrating when I had been on the final step of the process. The new, updated app is still slow. Please bring back the the Note option for mobile check deposits. And make the mobile deposit process strictly for Mobile deposit. Account activity, such as deposit activity can be viewed in account activity or history which is universally understood. ### 2/5 — New update needs work *2025-11-29, version 6.0.251000* Not a fan of the new update. New interface looks messy. Not as easy on the eyes as the old version. Everything is slower now. Mobil deposit is not as streamlined as before. Transactions seemingly pending for way longer (not even sure how this is possible). Mobile deposit does not reflect in available balance instantaneously like before. Redeeming credit card points for cash is a guessing game. I could go on but I feel this new update is a step back. This version is a major step backwards. This app is extremely dated. Today’s users expect more from software. The user experience is convoluted, clunky, and creates a lot of cognitive load. The visual design lacks content hierarchy and leaves the user confused on what’s most important to them. The design looks like it was done in the early 2000’s. On top of the lackluster design, the software is slow and buggy. There also seems to be missing simple features like the ability to click on your credit card and “Pay my bill” easily without having to go to the transfer tab. Things are not where they should be and there are many bugs. No due date displayed on loan accounts. And to pay the loan? Do you click it? No. Do you click pay bills? I was able to pay off my loan whenever I wanted now the app forces me to make payments only on the date is due. I give more than the minimum and I should be able to pay whenever as long as it’s before due date. Now I’m force to call credit union and they never pick up, I was on hold for hours. Click on pay bills? NO! Do you click on Menu > member services > Mortgage > open a pop up window? YES lol. I go onto my account and I should be able to clearly see what transactions happens and from where. The app or information glitches and for days or weeks it only shows “Loan advanced credit card - transfer” no way for me to confirm I made those charges. You added additional text/copy to the Home Screen which just makes it cluttered and more confusing. When the app glitches either in trying to log in or my transactions or taking forever to load I begin to lose trust in the bank. Please change it back 🙂 ### 5/5 — My favorite bank *2025-05-19, version 5.9.31* I’ve tried a lot of banks and this one is my favorite. Mission Federal is secure, helpful when needed and fair. There’s no hidden fees, no outrageous late fees and best of all, no monthly charges. Now it’s the only bank I use. I can tell you that living in San Diego CA, saving money is a top priority. Know this. In my 15 years with this bank, and the many many transactions I have had, Mission Federal Credit Union has been the greatest blessing to me! I have had to live on a tight budget these past few years, and Mission Fed has been the kindest, most knowledgeable, most helpful bank that I have ever used. Put it this way, If you want a bank that is known for fraud, opens up millions of unauthorized accounts, data mines YOUR private financial info, and sells it for profit, a bank that uses 3rd, 4th, 5th party associates to share your financial data, a bank that charges you petty fees and fines for everything, a bank with variable APR’s based on corporate policy changes, a bank that constantly changes its products and services and modifies the rules so that your earnings decrease and additional costs increase, a bank that doesnt charge monthly service fees for account “maintenence”- whatever that means, a bank that makes it impossible to qualify for necessary everyday things, such as a car, or a house, a bank that constantly doesn't take accountability, a bank that wont work with you get to know you, and your very human existance-flawed or not, and overall… a bank that doesn't have it’s customers best interest at heart, then… MFCU is NOT the bank for you. MFCU is super friendly, kind, personable, knows you by name, has free checking saveings accounts, wont charge you 40$ overdraft fees, in fact no overdraft fees, they are a local bank of its community. A bank for the people by the people. They base their ethos on helping the local communities, and its empoyees, such as teachers, firemen, nurses, police. You ARE a part of the bank, and your opinions matter. The bnk is a credit union that bases its bottom line on local decisions of the people, not corporate lawyers. I have only had the most positive experiences with MFCU and It’s very kind employees. They are not to big to fail, they care about its customers. When I moved to San Diego, 15 years ago, I tried 2 other credit unions. The popular ones, I wont mention by name. I have never been dealt with by such unhappy employees. I quickly left, and found my home bank. I also find that more and more of my friends who bank with Mission Fed, also have the same positive experiences as I do. My Accounting Professor who wrote text books for Wiley ( University Texts ) scolded me for telling him I opened an account at Wells Fargo. He then personally lectured me on the reasons for his angst with me. Not only were I not paying attention to his lessons I went and did the unthinkable for a Business major, I got a Bank Account. A Credit Union is the only place you want to put your money. You can use it from there for other purposes. But do not ever put your money into a Bank. And why in the world a Savings and Loan when you could have a Credit Union instead? And if you are anywhere you can do Mission Federal Credit Union you are doing good because it’s one of the very best out there.
