## What is MixEar?

Producers with great ears don't guess — they hear it. MixEar is a gym for your ears: short daily drills that train you to recognize what EQ, compression, stereo width, panning, reverb, saturation, filters and level changes actually sound like.

Every question plays a loop with hidden processing. Flip between the original and the processed version as often as you like, then answer. You'll see what changed and can listen again knowing what to hear — that's where your ear learns.

NINE DRILLS, THREE LEVELS EACH
• EQ Band — which frequency was boosted? From 4 bands at +6 dB up to 12 bands at +3 dB
• Boost or Cut — the band and the direction
• Filters — high-pass or low-pass, and where
• Level — how many dB louder or quieter, down to 0.5 dB
• Compression — none, light, medium, heavy, then ratio ID (level-matched so you can't cheat)
• Stereo Width — mono, narrow, normal, wide
• Panning — where is it in the stereo field?
• Reverb — dry, room, hall, plate
• Saturation — clean, warm, driven

BUILT FOR A DAILY HABIT
• 3-minute Daily Workout weighted toward your weak spots
• Streaks, daily goal, XP and ranks from Intern to Golden Ears
• Level up automatically when you hit 80% accuracy
• EQ weak-spot map: see exactly which frequencies fool you

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-10-03

Better-sounding, more varied training loops.

• Every session builds a fresh loop with a new tempo, key, chords and groove, so you train your ears instead of memorizing one track.
• Rebuilt instruments: punchier kick, snappier snare, crisper hats, richer pads and bass, plus new pluck, vocal and shaker parts in Full Beat.
• More human drums with ghost notes, varied hit strength and optional swing, giving the compression drill real dynamics to work on.
• Notes ring out across the loop point instead of being cut off.
• The Reverb drill now starts on Drums, where tails are easiest to hear.

### 1.0 — 2026-10-01

No release notes.
