## What is MixKings?

MixKings is a cocktail app for people who love to make, share, and show off great drinks. Build your bar, put it on the big screen, and find out what everyone else is pouring.

Build your bar. Import recipes with AI from a photo or pasted text, or add them from the community in a couple of taps. Give each drink its ingredients, description, price, glassware, and garnish notes, whatever your menu needs. Group drinks into shelves, style the colors and fonts, and you're done. Beers, wines, and spirits carry their brewery, winery, or distillery, with logos on the display.

Display it on any TV. Pair with an Apple TV, cast to a Chromecast, or turn an iPad or spare phone into the screen. Pick fonts, colors, and a background, then let guests browse your menu like they're sitting at the bar.

Find bars near you. The Nearby tab lists bars, pubs, breweries, wineries, and distilleries around you, sorted by distance, with filters by type and range. Search another city before a trip. Listings come from open data, so if one has closed or moved, report it in a tap, and if a place is missing, tell us.

Discover what others are mixing. Community Rooms are organized by style, from Sours to Spirit-Forward to Tiki. See what's trending, yoink a recipe straight to your bar, riff on it and post your version, and react to your favorites. Every recipe stays attributed to whoever made it, riffs included.

Share with one tap. Send a drink to a friend in a chat, and they can save it or add it to their own menu. Invite friends with a link and they land straight in your messages.

Know your palate. Turn on Your Palate and MixKings builds a private read of the spirits, flavors, and styles you favor from the drinks you react to. It's off by default and computed on your device.

Stay in the loop. One inbox holds your messages and your notifications: someone riffed on your drink, your post picked up reactions, or it made the trending list.

Auto-build a shopping list. Tap a button and MixKings creates a shopping list from every ingredient on your menu. Once you've picked it all up, tap again to move it into your inventory, where it's highlighted on your recipes so you know what's on hand at a glance.

Switch to bartender mode. When you're mixing, pull up any recipe for a quick look at ratios and ingredients without leaving the party.

I’ve downloaded Shayoink and it's quickly become one of my favorite apps. I like that it combines discovering new cocktails with a social community where people share recipes, ideas, and recommendations. The app is easy to navigate, and it's fun seeing what others are making and trying.

Friendly and Competition

The game modes now sit under two categories. Competition is the taste-off, renamed: the one mode where everyone makes a drink and tastes it before voting. Drink the winner and Build a menu sit under Friendly.

Dedicated judges, if you want them

Competition can now be scored by judges instead of by the players. Turn on dedicated judges and they join with their own code, score every drink from 0 to 10, and the points are revealed on the Apple TV. Leave it off and the players score it themselves, the way they always have.

Hosts pick their own seat too: run the night without playing, sit in as a judge, or join as a competitor.

The reveal belongs to the host now instead of firing on the last ballot, so you can hold the room before the results land. While voting is open you can see who the round is still waiting on, by username, on your own phone instead of up on the wall. If the app loses track of a live game you can resume it or end it rather than starting over, and only one game per host runs at a time.

In the game

Recipes now open the same detail sheet as the rest of the app, so you can save a drink you liked instead of only adding its ingredients. Vessel labels default to colour so nobody loses track of which glass is theirs, and allergen flags sit at the top of the drinks people are about to pour. The voting card leads with three standouts instead of nine facts.

Creating an account no longer waits on an email verification step before you can claim your username.

Send a screenshot or PDF from any app straight into MixKings. It lands in your import inbox ready to turn into a recipe, and the inbox now follows your account across devices.

Smarter recipe scanning
Scanning a recipe that calls for a homemade syrup or cordial now captures that too. Both come in on a single credit, the component saves to your pantry, and it stays linked to the recipe that uses it. You pick the shelf for each one.

Party game
Entry order is shuffled every round, so the running order never hints at who submitted when.
Taste-off hosts can label entries with numbers or colored dots, which makes matching drinks to tasting glasses far easier.
The voting card reads faster: three standouts with up or down arrows instead of a wall of detail.
Ties are settled by a repeatable rule rather than whoever submitted first.
Round audio no longer drifts between rounds, and the end-of-round build is new.
Freestyle rounds can be limited to what is on your shelves.

Homemade ingredients carry a link arrow that opens the sub-recipe without losing your place.
Apple TVs show the name you gave them when you choose where to play.
