Don’t expect an income! *2022-05-23* Skillz matching means you’ll always have a good game at your level, so you’ll win a couple — then you’ll get matched with someone better so you’ll lose a couple. The company takes about 20% each game so net loss. Unless, of course, you are THE best player in the world (and there’s no one better to match you against) and then you’ll win. But good game. There is no option for me to compete with anyone. ### 1/5 — New “improved” algorithm cheats players *2024-05-28* You’ll consistently lose 2/3’s of the time and win 1/3 of the time…if you’re lucky. This ensures you consistently have to deposit additional funds to continue playing the “for money” games whereas before, you could actually go on somewhat of a winning streak and accumulate funds. However, since the developers added this “upgrade” in the past month (as of May 2024) they keep touting how “it’s to ensure more fair matchmaking” but its made all of the games much less fun for everyone. I also suspect that, even though the developers vehemently deny it, there are bots playing these games like others have said. ### 1/5 — Te roban a la cara *2022-01-11, version 1.14* Vergonzoso ### 1/5 — I like everything about Skillz… *2021-06-23, version 1.13* I like everything about the game, Mixmaster by Skillz, except for 1 just thing! I recently received an unsolicited message from an unknown person who I had played a match against. It seemed like it could or could not have been in good fun, so I tried to send a humorous reply back - also in total fun to to see what was what. However, I couldn’t send that reply through the professionally safe Skillz message board. When I tried to contact Skillz support, I received the same computer message: provide birthdate & e-mail address. No problem! I did just what was asked of me. However, I then found out that I couldn’t verify it was me, because I have a landline phone that is broken & nowadays, you have to pay for the telephone crews to come to you, man work hrs, & if you don’t have a blank check, you cannot assure them that you can pay for the fix without knowing the cost of their fix! That cheaper landline saves a lot of money, the phone is old (a rotary dial), & it couldn’t receive their texts anyhow because of its age! & (I still have my iPhone, but I gave up the expensive phone service to it, because I don’t use it enough to make calls!) I tried to contact Skillz through FB, but FB wanted to text me too! Now any company has a right to ask anything they want, but NO ONE from Skillz bothered to verify if I was me, if my BD was correct, etc, before they let other people I don’t know message me. The person who messaged me has a provocative but different spelling of what he or she wanted to be known by - again all in fun I am sure, but I didn’t get to ascertain that myself & neither did Skillz. I wasn’t looking for a date! I was suppose to have 24 hrs to get back to Skillz for a tiebreaker. I got the message from the official Skillz site, that I saw just about 2 or 3 hrs before, so I thought that I still had 18 hrs to get on their site? This is not a mystery wrapped in a mystery except for one thing: There are people who don’t believe in owning phones & people who just don’t have phone service due to the waste of money! I gave honest, actual facts if Skillz happens to read this message so that they can check them out & contact me. Thank you.🌸 ### 1/5 — Don’t expect to get your money anytime soon *2020-11-29* The ad claims that you will get your money through PayPal when actually they send you a check that takes 4-6 weeks to get to you and charge you for it and you lose any bonus cash that you win. Pretty much I was able to get up to $150 but if I cashed out it would have been more like $90.
