Previously it was relatively easy to select the closest parking zone to your current area and scroll to find your spot. However, now it always just says “too many zones to list” so I end up typing the spot number manually. This would not be so frustrating if typing in the number automatically displayed the correct spot, but instead this is clearly a Milwaukee-focused wrapper for a larger parking app, as other parking spots with the same number in other, far away cities will often display BEFORE the actual parking spot in Milwaukee. The app is usable but frustrating, and worse than it was pre-update ### 3/5 — 2FA will not work if you already use ParkMobile *2026-02-13* I already have ParkMobile installed as I’m a Metra user that park in the suburbs of Chicago. The MKE Park app is essentially a Milwaukee flavored wrapper for the ParkMobile app. The two factor authentication by email verification makes it impossible to log into MKE if you already have the ParkMobile app installed, because the link will open PM instead of MKE. Of course, there’s no problem using the ParkMobile app to park in Milwaukee but it isn’t obvious for visitors who were not exposed to the city’s ad campaign and there are almost NO signs for the app except a little sticker on the meters which is difficult to see at night. [update] There is a workaround to opening the 2FA link in MKE by long-pressing the link and opening the link in Safari. The web link will then ask to open MKE instead of PM. MKE will inherit strings from PM and also give you access to Milwaukee specific links in the app like the overnight registration and HOP info. ### 2/5 — Unreliable *2024-12-28* So, it’s obvious that many reviewers like the app here, and I don’t. Here’s why. The barcode reader at garage entry and exit isn’t always great. Coming back from a great warmer weather vacation, something caused my MKE Smart Park app to decide to take one! Somehow by the time I deplaned walked the longer distance to my level 4 parking spot, and drove out to what appears to be the only Smart Park exit lane, my app logged out. This was the major hassle and why it did it no one knowledgeable has explained it, so far. So, no logged on NO barcode to pay and exit at the garage exit lanes. So I had to make a phone call at midnight, and go through all the semantics of identifying myself and my vehicle. The whole process took me about 15 minutes. I think next time I will just use a traditional credit card for payment. You can gladly have the smart app! It’s not for me. ### 1/5 — Maps are wrong! *2022-08-31, version 9.17.3* This app claims to know where you parked based off the Space #. Do not trust it! ### 2/5 — Technical Issues *2022-07-22* When creating my account, no matter how many different passwords I created within the guidelines of the password, an error message pops up to say it does not meet the requirements. Very frustrating and I have no idea what to do. So then I have to find quarters. E ceding my annoying. When it works, it’s a real handy app. But I’m taking time to review while waiting for the app to download, to reinstall, again. ### 1/5 — Worst App *2022-04-11, version 9.17.3* No scanning sticker present. We tried parking on Wisconsin and NONE of the zones contained the parking spot number. Can’t search by spot number and there was no way to find the zone. Who is responsible for this crappy app?? ### 1/5 — Privacy Nightmare and Terrible Service Model *2021-10-17, version 9.13* Unbelievably invasive. License Plate, e-mail , personal data, payment methods, and now Data leak! Tragically, the only other option is to not pay and get towed. There are no alternatives. ### 1/5 — Ripoff *2021-09-09* I had a minute and 30 left on my meter from paying directly with my credit card. I added the app so I could add some additional minutes and do it again if I was in a store for too long. I tried to add 30 minutes and in doing so it erased the hour and a half I already had on there and shorted me an hour and a half. I went back to check my carAnd it was flashing or I could’ve gotten a ticket. They deleted the money that I had already paid and it is not clear at all that you will lose this time when you try to add more minutes. What they essentially are doing is double charging people when they pay with cash and try to add minutes through the app. It’s a complete rip off and should be a class action lawsuit. I’m going to see if I can bring this up to an attorney friend. Seems like massive fraud on a crazy high scale. ### 2/5 — Too hard to set up *2021-06-29, version 9.13* I had to get a parking ticket, which cause me to get it set up but bye that time I couldn’t remember what parking place I was in. Hopefully the next time I will be ready to put all the information in to the app. ### 1/5 — Data breach. Failures at life *2021-04-30, version 9.13* ParkMobile was hacked and allowed everyone’s data to leak. Did they tell you about it? Nope. Amateur developers like this need to find a new line of work. Such grotesque disappointments to everyone that actually cares about security. ### 1/5 — Overcharged *2021-03-25, version 9.7* Crappy system. It charged my credit card but gave me a notice that the payment did not go through so the timer did not start. Had to go through the system 3 times to get it to work. For some reason, the app was unresponsive when I tried to enter and save my license plate, phone number and preferred method of payment. Except that someone stole my phone so now I’m back to using my iPhone 6. Every app works on it but this one, that won’t even allow a previous version to install, when I had one on this phone that worked fine not long ago. So I‘m supposed to buy a new thousand dollar phone just to park? Guess I’ll ride my bike from the free Park-n-Ride or something.
