Yes, it can be a very fun game, nostalgic, addictive and whatever escape you’re looking for. I can’t compare the quality of previous versions, but it’s clear that the developers prey on your nostalgia for the game and its addictive effects. It’s not reasonable for developers to make money from their work. However, they really try to jack you at every single opportunity. Exploitation is its design to maximize the amount of $ you spend for the least possible return. If you’re fairly well off financially then you have a chance at competing. It’s cheaper to get the latest XBOX with games than to play TSB for a year, easy. To the developers: don’t insult our intelligence by telling us you need to fleece people in order to “deliver the best possible gaming experience”. People give you enough $ to do so and for you to not have to pretend you care. Only if everyone around the world lived solely to scheme how to best scam each other, oh what a wonderful world it’d be. ### 3/5 — Lol *2022-10-25, version 2.0.3* Last review I was kicked out of the server as they need to upgrade. Also why do you stay out responding as a developer to say sorry and will forward this to the developers? Lol what does that do . I’m sure your sorry that the game is have fixed with patches glitches nonstop that your CS department blames on the players. Lol I got to laugh . I’d like an actual developer to write me with what they are going to do to fix this game and how to make the players happy? That’s what I’d want. Thing is unless you say great things all messages like this will get put in the trash as this games owners are uncaring and only worry about the 1.2billion they put in their pocket. It’s a great game that can go far if they would just give better service and better rewards for all the time and energy We players deserve. So now if I have an issue I can’t write in period smh. ### 2/5 — Holy Lag and crashes *2022-07-16, version 1.2.0* I’ve noticed that people have had issues for months with the game lagging or crashing/crashing peoples routers like me.. so I gave it a few months to see if it would get better and nothing happened and I really don’t think anything will. There will be an automated response to this review and then nothing will happen. Because it still makes money. I enjoy playing so much and enjoy my club. But the fact that my brand new phone turns into a lava brick in five minutes is just ridiculously. Not to mention I’m extremely impatient and sometimes wait over ten minutes just to get through an auto play through of a game. ### 1/5 — Stay Away! *2022-07-05, version 1.1.3* I have played Tap Sports Baseball since 2017, and I can say without any doubt, that the direction new ownership has taken with the 2022 version is running this product further into the ground. Never has this app been more of a money grab. And Customer Service is the worst I have ever experienced. Totally inept, untrained, lazy, incompetent and simply don’t care about the customer. Every issue is a battle to get anything corrected. But they are excellent at the generic “copy and paste” replies, much like the “developer responses” in these reviews. Dedicated players are quitting and deleting this app because of company greed and customer care that is non-existent. It’s never been worse. Do yourself a favor and find another baseball app. Six years of dedicated playing and it is no longer a fun game. Don’t believe me? You’ve been warned. ### 1/5 — Garbage is as garbage does *2022-06-20, version 1.1.3* I have played this game for several years now and this is by far the absolute worst version. I get the idea for an app is to make money, but EA and Glu take it to a new level. They have made this game truly for the high rollers and only they can truly compete. They have increased the number of boxes for the weekend which includes a box for 1000 gold. These boxes still have extremely low odds to pull the only player out of that box. The first week was like 2% chance to pull them with 200 pulls guaranteeing the player. That’s 200k gold, which equates to about $800. That’s not all folks, throughout events you collect sets to multiply your scores. Almost all of the sets now include that 1000 gold box player and/ or Player of the Month guys which are 650 gold per box with 10% odds to pull the player. These odds, Glu claims are fair, don’t seem like 10% because many complain they spend 30k+ gold with no player. Yet, these guys are must haves to complete those sets. Without them you cannot compete. Last year POTM boxes were 20%. EA/ Glu do not seem to care about the players because no real changes have been made for weeks even though they have been bombarded with complaints. Download if you want but beware, the issues mentioned is about 1/3 of the problems you will face with this once great game. ### 2/5 — Wasted Potential Sad to Say *2022-06-20, version 1.1.3* The core game itself is pretty fun. Love the different events that are sprinkled throughout to cater to what people might or might not like. Champions tier was a well needed change to the game that gives you “endgame” goals now. The performance is another issue…I play on my iPad Pro 3rd gen and I have 1Gbps download speeds home internet and I don’t have any other issues with anything else except for this game. The connection on Wi-Fi is extremely spotty and 9/10 it is extremely laggy and unplayable. Reached out to support and they told me that I should restart my device/router/modem which didn’t fix the issue of course and then told me it’s my device 😑. The game works fine on cellular but I shouldn’t have to be forced to play this game optimally on cellular using up my data there and not my home internet. And then there’s the money grab with low odds under 1% to get a top player for a few days and you must spend ALOT of money to guarantee a player who’s only relevant for a couple of days and then rinse and repeat. I really want this game to be better but after I have waited a couple of months to write this review to see if performance would improve at least, it has not and I’m losing hope in this game as someone who has played for years. ### 2/5 — Fatally flawed *2022-06-18, version 1.1.3* I played two years ago, quit, and thought I would give it another try. Built a good team several players capped at 340 OVR and helped my club win at #1 in minors fora couple weeks. Here’s the problems: - I’m on iPhone with great Wi-Fi and connecting still takes forever on startup. Once you’re connected, sometimes it’s snappy and responsive, other times it lags so bad it’s unplayable - On LTE or 5G connection this app causes the phone to actually heat up where I can feel it’s hot through the case and the screen dims. This ONLY happens with this app! Happens if you play long enough in Wi-Fi too. This is the second iPhone with a different case and THIS game did the same thing two years ago. I thought it was a fluke back then. - the strike zone is messed up. Some of the pitches that are called strikes are unhittable and if you screen shot them, are no where near crossing the plate. - the ads are overwhelming and extremely intrusive to game play I want to like this game. I have enjoyed playing it when I can actually connect quickly, before my phone starts melting in my hand, and after closing six ads. ### 2/5 — Fun concept *2022-06-02, version 1.1.2* The actual game is fun, although the constant ads that you have to watch every 2 minutes or so makes this game unbearable to play. The 21 version of this game did not have that, and was really fun to play! I guess the MLB decided that this phone game needed to be more like the experience of watching their game on TV so they added “commercials” that you have to watch every 5 seconds. Hey game developers, here’s a tip, get rid of the must watch ads and sell ad space on the outfield walls of the game. I stopped playing this game and came back to it every few weeks then realize why I stopped in the first place. I have just deleted it and most likely will not download it or any newer versions again. Kinda stinks, bcs the game is really enjoyable…. ### 1/5 — It’s ok *2022-05-31, version 1.1.1* Good game just gets tiresome to have to keep starting over every season. I’ve been an avid player since 2016 I’ve watched the game grow over the years it really is fun and addicting. The clubs are cool if your extremely active. I found it easier for me to play solo due to my playing habits but it works for me. I always went straight to diamond just loved building a dominate team so I never minded leveling up. I think that after playing it for so long and that I had to start over every year that the game gets boring same old same old even with the improvements over the years. I think woh is a waste of time it was cool at first but now it’s boring. I prefer banging out bonus, season and tournament games would love to be able to auto play multiple games but they should do it with Field Pass or off club tournament hours. 1 star cause I’m tired of starting over feels like a waste of time. ### 1/5 — EA Doesn’t Stand by there Promises *2022-05-28, version 1.1.1* This game is terribly glitchy. I have earned gold from different in game accomplishments, but EA refuses to give it to me. They have been working on the same problem for weeks and they have not addressed it with me at all. They just keep saying thank you for your cooperation while we investigate. They do not honor their word and they absolutely do not do right by the customer. They are a morally bankrupt company who couldn’t care less about their customers even if they tried. To the developer who replied to my review. I already submitted a ticket and the customer service I have received is absolutely atrocious. So you can save the public bravado for someone else. EA or whoever this application is a bunch of thieves who could care less about their customers. The only thing that can convince me otherwise is if you make wholesale changes to the game and start treating customers like people who matter. ### 2/5 — The 22 version of this game stinks *2022-05-23, version 1.1.1* It’s bad enough that the features from 21 to 22 are insignificant, but the 22 version is now riddled with fundamental issues 21 never had - In head to head, all my games wind up showing as extra inning games where I’m leading but the game never ends. Support can only delete those games without giving credit for the win. How can a baseball video game not properly track the right inning? So, no head to head, just boring bonus games. I’ll likely stop playing it all together soon and uninstall. You’d think after so many years, they get this right. Meanwhile the same old issues exist. You can’t choose to steal part way through an at-bat, can bunt whenever you want, can’t set the game to automatically bring in a new pitcher if he gives up a set amount of runs. This game has jumped the shark… ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2022-05-13, version 1.1.1* I was excited about this version because it allows you to advance faster. Well, I started having issues with all games I played against friends. Every game I was winning would freeze in the 9th inning. I don’t know why or how, it would just freeze . I could see on my screen stating that I was waiting for the opponents turn. The opponent would not see that and would tell me the game just disappeared. Very frustrating because I couldn’t get a win even though I was winning all these games in the ninth. It was waste of games. This is my second time relaunching the game. I have a new phone, enough memory, nothing running in the background. In fact this is the only game I have downloaded on my phone. Glu promised that they have worked in the problem. We will see. There’s no way this game deserves 5 stars. it’s just a money grab. customer support is an absolute JOKE. apparently, in order to make sure your game doesn’t glitch, you have to make sure your wifi is good. And you also have to close everything else out. Come on…programmers are a joke…engineers don’t help…this game is a big mistake! don’t get sucked in! boxes they claim are “random”….aren’t. you’ll get like 9 of the same player all the time. so you need to spend money to get more boxes…which will end up being players you already have. JOKE. this game is rigged. i have my players topped out…still can’t beat one of the levels…spend your money and time elsewhere… ### 1/5 — Joke of a game now *2023-01-02, version 2.1.1* I’ve been playing for years. Met some folks and we decided years ago to stick together as a club and have for several years. That’s the best part of the game. We talk outside of the game. Add a few new members every so often. And we are a solid club overall. Finish top 5 more often than not. How glu/ea gets away with what they’ve done in this years version is beyond me. Our group has even discussed looking for another game so that we can still enjoy playing something together. 2 years ago that was unheard of in this franchise. You’re spending (against the developers teams/clubs, seems fair huh?) and they don’t have to spend. Pull rates are a joke, they are never what they say. The guarantee pulls aren’t a guarantee (several players in our club alone have disproven it nearly every week/weekend). I know it’s not just our group, but most players now are going to move on. Speaking of our own, we are going to give 23 a small shot. Before we move on. But it will be a glorious day for this franchise when it crashes and burns. ### 1/5 — I deleted my account twice *2022-12-13, version 2.1.1* A few years ago I played this game…a lot. I reached one of the top 300 on a few occasions. I was spending money - basically the only way to compete. I was disgusted with myself at how much money I spent and how much time I committed to the game. I finally deleted my account. Unfortunately I decided to give it a try again recently. It seemed like they made a few improvements and you could still have some fun without spending any money - but that only lasts so long. The pitching is ridiculous - unhittable. And there’s nothing you can do about it. You reach the last pitcher in woh - BAM - 9 straight unhittable curveballs. Then there is some thing that all of a sudden jacks up the level of teams you play against so your win rate comes way down, or you cannot win a tournament. It literally kept me out of the top 10 recently because I could no longer win games. Finally - they keep giving you the same worthless players over and over again from boxes. That was the last straw for me. Same bottom level player 9 out of 12 boxes opened (the other 3 were not players). So I decided to delete my account a second time. Please trust me - it is just not with the time, frustration, and definitely not money. Don’t even download it and try it. Their algorithms will pull you right in. ### 1/5 — Not worth it. *2022-08-28, version 1.2.2* Don’t download the game. It’s only worth it if you are willing to spend thousands to make it worth it then use auto tap software to compete the cheaters. If you don’t spend money you won’t get the best players and you won’t be able to complete sets which helps you get more points in their events. They hide behind their “odds” of the box but in reality they just want you to spend more money. The people who spend the most money get the best players, and then they also use an app or software that allows them to auto tap in the game so it makes them impossible to compete with. They claim they don’t know who the cheaters are but it’s not hard to find. They ignore it because the cheaters spend enough money for them to look the other way. So there you have it, if you want a level playing field without spending a ton of money and using auto tap software, then find a different game. Otherwise, you can download this game and play on a non level playing field. PS. Don’t be fooled by the fake responses they keep leaving to these people on here who leave a bad review. They are doing absolutely nothing to fix it. ### 1/5 — Tap Baseball Menus *2022-08-23, version 1.2.2* It is crazy how frustrating it is to navigate the menus in this game. Everything is all mixed up & when you think you’re getting the hang of it BOOM you just get hit with an ad that makes you forget where you were even trying to go. It’s glitchy & freezes when you’re playing an AI??? & don’t get me started on how low quality the graphics are so I’m confused how the game could even lag when playing against the cpu. I have to commend whoever made the menus & the navigation because you single handedly made me never want to touch this app a day in my life again. Never in my years of gaming have I ever wanted to quit a game solely on how the menus are formatted but consider this a 1st time because navigating the menus in this game is worse than torture. ### 1/5 — Thanks EA *2022-07-24, version 1.2.2* I would like to thank EA Sports for the changes made in the 22 version of TSB. After only 3 days of wasting my time I realized that was going to be even more of a money grab than any previous version. Having to level up tiers before having adequate resources is totally unacceptable! I’ve been playing since the original release in 2014 and I have finally deleted the app and vow to never play again. Which means that I will save time and money. Do not download this app unless you’re rich or a glutton for punishment! Unfortunately 1* is the lowest eating that I can give to this game and EA sports. ### 1/5 — Bad customer service *2022-07-24, version 1.2.2* I have been playing this game for years. Active in clubs and chat everyday. Never complained u til last few updates. Game crashes constantly and more than a handful of times recently I have used gold to continue a game or buy something in the store. If you use gold and game crashes it is lost and so it whatever you bought or the game you’re playing. Contacted customer support and was basically told to prove it. Wanted screen shots of what happened. Kinda hard to screenshot a crash when it just kicks you back to phone home. Have to a loyal customer to this game for a long time but might be time to delete it and goto something else. Just wanted everyone to know how they operate. ### 1/5 — This game makes no sense *2022-07-19, version 1.2.2* This game is way too confusing and complicated. I have no idea where things are and how to get things because players change every day and where to get them changes also. Then you level up a player and you need new players the next day. Events and payouts are broken and glitchy. Then they make this impossible goal to get a player from All star boxes and pull the plug on the event before the home run derby even happens. 300 freaking All star boxes and I get Max Fried instead of Ohtani. Distribute the players better. I don’t need 15 prime DHs that can’t play anywhere except DH. I can’t even level up prime players because they don’t give out enough prime xp in any events. Give out more xp of all kinds when trading in players. Fix the game because it’s broken and way too confusing. EA is horrible at making games. Way too many glitches. ### 1/5 — Buggy, slow and heats up iPhone excessively *2022-07-19, version 1.2.2* UPDATE - has gotten worse and developer is doing nothing to fix. You can see cookie cutter responses to critical reviews and obvious developer sponsored positive reviews. This season the app crashes and heats up devices worse than last year. Completely unplayable. I should ask for refund but instead will delete app and never return. ORIGINAL - Third season playing and by far the worst version of app. Very slow and crashes at least once a day. Have 600+ gbps WiFi but customer service blames me when I complain. Customer service is a joke, as you can tell from their responses to reviews. They have reduced the quality of boxes to the point where the only way to progress is to spend buco $$$$. The unveiling of prime rookies has been a joke - 1000 gold for infinitesimal chance at player. Lastly, the game heats up new iPhone 13 to the point where display dims until it cools off. The very definition of “Garbage In, Garbage Out.” ### 1/5 — Major lagging issues, horrible customer service *2022-07-07, version 1.1.3* Have NEVER seen this much lagging in a game EVER! Have the best wifi service money can buy with very few things running on it, have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, works for about 10 minutes before it starts lagging again. You watch videos to get an extra play, retry on a box, whatever you watch the video for and whatever you watched the video for, is not received. You either lose gold, lose your extra play so you email customer service….. I’m a VIP member since 2017 and the customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen! VIP members are supposed to get the fastest responses (takes 3-4 days to get a response) I can only imagine what it takes for non VIP members. Response is the same every time! Uninstall the app and reinstall, close all other apps, restart your wifi blah blah blah and they throw you a little bit of gold. Have personally done this probably 10 times with video proof and the same response every time! HORRIBLE LAG! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! This is the third version ive played for 3 years now. Perfect Inning is good too, but this is much less complex and just easier and more fun to play! Upgrading your players is simple. Then you will hit their Max until you bump up a level. And I love how when the game first comes out, the better the players become available as you play through the months. You start off with normal XP players, then Prime XP players, then finally Legend XP players. Join a Club as soon as you start, as there are Club Challenges every weeknight and one that lasts all weekend! Your Club receives prizes every night depending on which tier your Club score finished in. Each challenge has certain players that will give you additional points, which you can get in Boxes you receive for Free or open for Gold. Then upgrade them! You can play HR Derby live against someone else for money, Gold, XP, etc. Oh, and you get to keep 3 players for next seasons version! 2 Hitters & 1 Pitcher. VIP's get to keep 4. It's just fun and great to play all season long!! I just hope they dont make complex changes to the 2023 version! There are very few things I would change to make it better. Don't over complicate it!! ### 5/5 — Great game — here’s a wish list item.. *2022-09-30, version 2.0.2* Love playing this game and have been throughout each iteration for years. One big wish list item would the ability to retain MORE of our hard-earned Prime or Legendary players from one release to the next rather than starting from scratch though I do understand the idea of trying to establish parity & fairness between players at the start. Again, just one of those “Sure would be nice” type of things. I applaud the team on consistently putting out such a fun and enjoyable quality product. Kudos and thanks for the years of leisurely tapping! ### 5/5 — Tap Baseball Review *2022-09-08, version 1.2.2* I have been obsessed with this game for quite awhile; I love it that much. The way more and more stuff is added is quite impressive. From the accuracy of the announcer to the baseball’s shadow to the organ music to even being able to have the batter check his swing, no stone was left unturned in regards to the detail. The way the defense is factored in even though I have no control over it adds to the accuracy too. Having said all of this, giving this game a five-star review is an ABSOLUTE no-brainer!!! Thank you EVER SO MUCH for continuing to make this a wonderful game an ABSOLUTE joy to play. Please keep up the phenomenal work. ### 5/5 — Good game, but there’s a major bug. *2022-06-24, version 1.1.3* I play the game quite a lot and I’ve spent a good amount of money on it this year (even though this is one of the most fun free games I’ve played in years. It’s insanely fun to get some friends into a club and try to be the best. But there is a bug. Currently there is a bug that does not allow me to accept the rewards from the “collect rewards” button, achieved by spending gold in game. Furthermore I have been promoted to Allstar 5 but I cannot get my rewards for that either. Keep doing what you’re doing guys but please fix that huge bug. ### 5/5 — Skip this game if you want to keep your money *2022-06-20, version 1.1.3* I’ve been playing tap sports baseball since 2017. The game was awesome and I looked forward to playing every day. The last 2 years you need to spend hundreds of dollars to compete. Not only that, there is wide spread cheating that makes the game not fun anymore. It has grown to allow the cheaters to thrive ! Don’t bother with this game until cheating is fixed. And also the boxes to get players are incredibly fixed. Don’t bother ### 5/5 — PLEASE READ BEFORE GETTING *2022-05-29, version 1.1.1* i love this game, i really do. the imaging is extremely realistic and there are many games and tournaments you can play! however, the game has really starting to bug me. the players, especially outfielders, are making extremely unrealistic catches and plays. i feel like i can’t bat without getting out. also, i’ve wasted so much coins on “bonus power” but i feel like it does nothing. i just feel like if the plays were made more realistic, the game would be so much better! ### 5/5 — Best baseball game in the world *2022-05-21, version 1.1.1* This game is amazing I play it day and night your legend is it a legend is so overpowered if you even go up to bat with it it will hit a home run in in about two hits if it’s not a home run it definitely is to the fence one down thing about this game is you don’t get to play defense but still this is an awesome game you should definitely download it best baseball game ever I’ve never seen any baseball game as good as this this is definitely the best game in the world all the other baseball games are so cheap they don’t even like let you hit home runs like there’s this other baseball game that I play and the chances of me hitting a home run is really slim so this game is the best I’ve had about 50 or more home runs and I’ve been playing this game for less than a month you get about seven home runs per game the pictures on the other team sometimes pitch fast but it’s really easy to hit and if it’s a good pitch it’s gonna be a home run every time. It truly is a life changing experience, I have realized that the virtual world is better than real life and this game is the peak of the virtual world. I have decided to dedicate my life to this game and the last week I can say that I’ve definitely made leaps and bounds towards this goal. I have played tap baseball for 12 hours a day Monday through Saturday while only resting on Sunday with an 8 hour gameplay session. While I have seen some cons like losing my wife and children, my job, and my home, I only see this as an absolute win because in the end all of those were just distractions towards my tap baseball grind. As a baseball super-fan, an easy, relaxing baseball game was a must have, and the devs crushed that concept so well that many are willing to pay for cosmetics. While people can pay to get new players, I don’t really consider this pay to win because most of the time you are facing computers in your bonus games. It could be argued that you use these in your club games, but I argue that you have to do a lot of those bonus games that I mentioned earlier to get to a point where your team is good, even with paying. I feel the best part is that you get gifts every day. This helps improve your team with out grinding a lot, or paying. Some nice new features. Bugs: 1) Game often loads to 88% then exits the game. Thought it might be slow connectivity but it does it on WiFi, too.
