I will never understand it. It’s telling me I’m blacked out for games I am nowhere near. Why???????? This why baseball suffers. ### 2/5 — Commercials Freeze *2026-08-23, version 26.15.0* All in all it’s a good app, but there’s a technical issue that has been around for years when using it to watch games on MLB.TV, frequently commercials will cause the app to freeze forcing you to reboot to continue viewing. I’ve experienced this on the Google TV app, Roku app, and iOS apps on multiple devices. Also on multiple WiFi & cellular networks. ### 2/5 — Okay app when it works *2026-08-23, version 26.15.0* (Which it rarely does). Amazing that a multi billion dollar industry can sell you access to their services and somehow put out a product that can’t do something as simple as stream a video. Don’t think I’ll ever be buying another subscription again. ### 4/5 — Works for the most part *2026-08-23, version 26.15.0* I have been with two carriers having the app and with both I frequently loose the broadcast in both rural and urban areas. Usually after extended “buffering” then have restart the app, causing me to miss significant time during the game-often 5 minutes or more. It has been that way since MLB first introduced the app and happens whether watching the video stream or listening to the radio stream. I’ve made comments about this before, but MLB doesn’t seem to care, as there has been no change. ### 2/5 — Annoying with audio only plan *2026-08-23, version 26.15.0* There are so many random irritations if you just have the audio only plan. You can click on a game and it’ll be like “you need a subscription” without asking if you want to listen to the radio broadcast. It’s like this all over the app, like they pretend we don’t exist. ### 4/5 — Weak Scoreboard Page, Video Overlays Gone *2026-08-23* The scoreboard pages used to be a very compact list of games with essential information listed in them, now they are oversized tiles which requires scrolling to review the games being played on a given day. All this to make it consistent across platforms, I guess. Never mind usability for the end user. Homogenization also has taken over the video playback as they’ve taken away overlay features. That was a big selling point a few years ago, but I guess it wasn’t worth maintaining. I can give some credit for the app crashing less often than it has historically, but it’s not as good an app today as it once was. **Developer response:** If you are still experiencing problems, we’re here to help! I can understand the blackouts of Kansas City and St. Louis, but not Chicago. And now Apple TV, Amazon TV, ESPN have blackout privileges. In here in Aus, I follow NRL team called Parramatta Eels teams since 1996 and boy they choked every year. Nah I sticked by it and now I am a proud dodger fan. Signing Sho topped the deals.
