### 5/5 — Will be solid once testflight versions ready

*2025-02-11*

Its still pretty buggy so ive swtichd to other apps for now, I can stand a lot of things but not crashing, this app seems fine, testflights the buggy one.

I like the ui of this one the best.

### 5/5 — The most mature lemmy app I've tried

*2024-11-26*

One request, can we have the inbox marked as read automatically after opening it, like Apollo?

### 4/5 — Very good lemmy client

*2024-09-28*

Missing a few features here and there from what I can tell but it’s the only lemmy app on iOS I’m using currently. Would be nice to see a hide post option as well as customizable swipe options on posts.

### 5/5 — Almost perfect

*2024-03-05*

I’ve tried several lemmy apps but I’m staying with this one. All of the features I need are here except one. I could really use a cross post functionality. Other than this, I’m all set… finally. So glad to have found this app. You’re doing great. Keep up the good work.

### 4/5 — Ok, but needs work

*2023-12-20*

Nice layout and intuitive design, but still a bit rough around the edges. Most annoying is the requirement to sign back into your instance every single time you follow an external link.

### 5/5 — Great App. Great Icon. Thank y’all so much!

*2023-12-11*

This really is a comparable experience to Apollo but with Lemmy. Lemmy is not as vibrant as Reddit yet, but y’all efforts with this make it so much more likely that this will happen. Huge thanks! I know the UI apps can be an immense amount of work.

If you’re looking to move away from Reddit (which is centralized under the control of people who just don’t have the mods or reader’s best interests in mind) then this is an excellent way to go.

It truly is a comparable experience and re-emphasizes the original intentions of the internet as a place with options.

### 5/5 — My favourite Lemmy App

*2023-11-02*

The user interface is so clean and is such a joy to use!

I especially love how the developers are so responsive to community feedback.

### 5/5 — Great APP

*2023-10-31*

Only wish I could swipe easier to move between pic posts

### 5/5 — 1.1 is great!

*2023-10-12*

Thank you so much for all the great work

### 5/5 — Fantastic work

*2023-09-09*

Great job to the devs who made this app. Love the buttery smooth animations, such as collapsing comments. Would be nice to have collapse all by default like Apollo did! 😀

### 5/5 — So far for me ,

*2023-09-01*

This is the best looking app to access. Lemmy. For me at least as a little msg time apollo user.

### 5/5 — Good Lemmy app

*2023-08-19, version 1.0.1*

This is a full featured, well working Lemmy client. Recommended.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not a fan of the redesign

*2025-05-23*

They changed it to show a larger picture for each article, instead of just a list with icons, I personally liked the old design better. Annoying bug, where if you, bring another app in focus (say, to find a reference/URL while composing a post/reply) and come back to mlem, it kicks you back to your list of subscribed feeds, that is, you lose whatever you were writing and you have to find the post/reply over again. Mlem is OK for just reading, but why use a separate app if you want to reply? You first have to re-find what you want to reply to.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2024-07-16*

Try to log in, see a green check mark and then get told that my account information couldn't be found, and to file a bug report. No bug report button, no email given, nothing. I tried.

### 1/5 — Have to log in

*2023-08-25, version 1.0.1*

App won’t work until you log in

### 1/5 — Login required from the start

*2023-08-14*

I prefer Liftoff app, which doesn't require login or even bother to create a throwaway account just to add and browse hubs. LOL

### 2/5 — Looks good can’t sign up

*2026-02-24, version 2.4.0*

It looks good but can’t make an account. Won’t ever validate a username as not taken so you can’t submit an application for an account

### 2/5 — Not a fan of the redesign

*2025-05-17*

They changed it to show a larger picture for each article, instead of just a list with icons, I personally liked the old design better. Annoying bug, where if you, while composing a reply, bring another app in focus (say, to find a reference/URL) and come back to mlem, it kicks you back to your list of subscribed feeds, that is, you lose what you were writing and you have to find the post/reply over again. Update: this bouncing back to feeds list happens in several situations, and is supremely irritating.

### 2/5 — not there yet

*2024-02-09, version 1.1.2*

The timeline is a mess. Also, you cannot log out of your account, this deletes your account entirely on the instance

### 2/5 — Why are we unable to save images?

*2023-08-03*

Unable to zoom in on images or save them.

Otherwise, a fine experience.

### 3/5 — Great but jittery scroll

*2024-09-19*

Great app that is marred by really inconsistent frame pacing when scrolling on (ProMotion enabled) iPhone 15 Pro. That means it is super jittery when scrolling making it really difficult to enjoy using this app as an Apollo replacement.

### 3/5 — Font size

*2024-03-12*

No way to change font size? Way too small for me to read.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Seriously high quality

*2026-02-23*

One of the best ways of interacting with lemmy by far. Very high quality and thoughtfully made app that’s just a joy to use.

### 5/5 — Exceptionally good

*2026-01-25*

It’s on par with Apollo for Reddit, who remembers that wonderful client. With this app, the whole Lemmy experience is just much better than it ever was with Reddit. I highly recommend. The only issue I have with it is the addictive nature of being part of some communities. But it’s in no way a fault of the app.

### 5/5 — Mostly stable now, minor gripes

*2025-08-17*

Its mostly solid now, a little customizablility for each feed type would be nice. Like bold text for headlines, when compared side to side with my setup for arctic, I liked that one slightly better because of that, otherwise they are mostly equal and I go back and forth between these 2, the best for ios

Yeah I prefer thunder and vyger for how they do the larger card view, its too big here, and the compact view is better in arctic. This one is stable and works as expected, the others can be buggy.

### 5/5 — Great lemmy client

*2025-08-13*

Finally! A legit iOS client for lemmy that is STILL actively maintained by the developer! So many lemmy clients have come and gone and been abandoned, but this lovely app is still going strong! Keep up the great work devs!

### 5/5 — Lots of fixes done, keeps getting better

*2025-05-09*

Update: the media type label goes away now, thanks!

### 5/5 — I like it a lot but it is a bit buggy

*2025-05-03*

Every update fixes old bugs and introdcues new ones. All minor but slightly annoying, like right now if I comment twice the second comment wont show up for me until I leave the post and come back, its a new minor issue that will be gone by next update. This is the most feature heavy lemmy app with animated avatars, a ton of customizability, etc. so bugs while in development are expected, they update often.

### 5/5 — Super!

*2025-03-27, version 2.0.1*

Neat, customizable, works great.

When you sign up, you can use Lemmy.ca or Lemmy.world or Lemm.ee for the “Instance” field.

Question for Devs: Is there no option to customize gestures?!

The “embedded content” (videos) are only showing as links, rather than embedded/playable videos. Please fix this.

Also when you change the font size via iOS / Accessibility /per App Settings something breaks and you can’t drag and drop in the Customize Widgets page.

### 5/5 — Lots of fixes done, media type covers up corner

*2025-03-24*

Thanks for fixing a lot of stuff! However the media type in the lower left corner always covers up parts of the image. Please have an option to not display this, or display it only on external links! Or hide it on tap. Currently requires a tap then tapping the “…” to see the whole image.

Cheers.

### 5/5 — 2.0 update is amazing!

*2025-03-12, version 2.0.0*

It feels like Apollo back to life, with a free soul.
