### 2/5 — Bugs

*2025-11-29*

This app disabled all of my child’s apps during downtime and never enabled them after the downtime period was over. Even the mmguardian app was showing restricted so we couldn’t uninstall it. I had to backup and factory reset the phone. I reinstalled the mmguardian app and now it’s refusing to allow permissions to scree time. Before this we’ve had issues with it not re-enabling the apps, but it would resolve itself after the next cycle, but that still left my kid without any of their apps for a full day. Not worth the money.

### 1/5 — Your app should be illegal

*2024-07-31, version 2.3.72*

Your app should be illegal and you shouldn’t even be a goddamn company

### 3/5 — a child’s point of view

*2024-05-15, version 2.3.66*

while i agree with the fact that children need to be monitored, the app itself is garbage. I cannot go to images because it says something about cookies???

### 1/5 — .

*2024-05-01, version 2.3.66*

I HATE this app it ruined my life as a teen and it made me sneakier than I was before and it costs so much for no reason and it made me hate living with my aunt bc she could see everything I sent to my friends not like it was bad stuff but I just want to talk to my friends and not have her question me on what this means or wtv I think this app needs banned

### 1/5 — DOES NOT WORK

DOES NOT WORK

### 1/5 — Stalker bf

*2024-04-07, version 2.3.66*

How do I remove this from my phone. My bf used it to read msgs etc… I found the guardian app deleted it but what else do I need to do?

### 1/5 — It ruined my life

I can’t do anything

### 1/5 — bad app

*2023-11-28, version 2.3.65*

this app makes me wanna cry

### 3/5 — What think of the app

*2023-09-14, version 2.3.63*

When I tried to put my daughters iPhone to my galaxy it was making it hard to me to connect cause we have different devices.but when I got my daughter a galaxy 1 year ago it was so much easier to connect the 2 phones cause they were the same brand.

Please fix this app so all brands can connect to each other

### 3/5 — meh :/

*2023-05-31*

i really dont like the app, (i am smol child) but i like the concept. i understand that my parents are trying to protect me, but the reason its not five is because the filter blocks really stupid things like i searched “ball pit balls” because i needed a good brand for my school’s event they were putting on and it blocked it with “Adult” while i do get how balls can be a restricted term, maybe you could improve the context identification doohickey and make it so it can analyze things that come up BEFORE it shows the results.

### 1/5 — Don’t download

*2023-05-20, version 2.3.63*

After deleting the app, it still asks my kid to ask a guardian for permission

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work, waste of money

*2023-05-10, version 2.3.63*

I paid for this app and it constantly errors and times out, it doesn’t work. Tracking never works. My daughter has now lost her phone and this was our back up to find it and it doesn’t even work. Complete waste of money, don’t bother.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — terrible

*2026-06-23, version 2.4.79*

it’s incredibly invasive and doesn’t respect boundaries. kids should be able to not be regulated and constantly controlled by their parents

### 1/5 — Couldn’t even sign in

*2026-04-20, version 2.4.79*

While setting up my daughter‘s phone, it kept saying that my password was incorrect. However, I was on the screen where I had to name the device. It never brought me back to where I could update the password and I got repeatedly locked out. Now I can’t even delete the app. So it’s taking up space on my daughter’s phone and there’s no way to delete the app. Searching online there’s no indication on how to do so and support takes over 24 hours to respond.

### 1/5 — My opinion

*2026-04-14, version 2.4.79*

I had this on my old phone and it was annoying it would go off saying that a cat tree was inappropriate or anything appropriate was deemed inappropriate or it wouldn’t say anything for months then say oh six months ago this was pinged inappropriate

### 1/5 — Don’t get it

*2026-02-03, version 2.4.69*

I believe that this app should get 0 stars. As a child with this app it blocked all of my apps without my mom even knowing to the point that it wouldn’t even let me turn on my phone and I had to buy a new one. It does not teach your child all the stuff it promises, it just teaches your child how to be sneaky and not get caught. And it ruins relationships, me and my mom still get in arguments because of this app. And it shows your child that you don’t trust them you should talk to them about internet safety not control them like this.

### 1/5 — Listen

*2025-12-02*

Teens make mistakes, it’s apart of life growing up. But to put this much parental control over a 16 year old teens phone is beyond unnecessary. If you explain to the child what they did was wrong and how to know what is right and wrong and who are people they can avoid and how to avoid there is no need for this app. All the teens on here are right what more important you micro managing your kid or your relationship with your kid?. That’s for you as a parent to decide privacy is a right not a privilege. And if you want to be on the side “ well this app is helping to protect my child from unwanted people and inappropriate sites”. Children will be curious that’s how life goes. Maybe 14 years and under ok I understand this app but if you’re putting this app on ur 16+ child phone I’m sorry but you are on the path to destroying your relationship with your kid. The only thing this app will teach them is how to be sneaky now communication because that’s what you as parents want right? You want your child to be able to communicate and talk to you openly?. Well putting this app on ur child’s phone won’t help them do that. I hope all you parents out there understand that teens will get suffocated of the idea ur constantly watching them 24/7, they will feel trapped leading to many different mental health illnesses. Eventually finding other alternatives… I know my parents put this app on my phone I didn’t have a choice but that’s exactly it. Having your kid not have a say is taking their voice away slowly and situations like this will impact them more in the future. If you think you will benefit and keep them safe think twice. - The other side

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2025-07-12, version 2.3.75*

I don’t mind the app at all but theres a screen time thingy that wont let me access my phone at all. I cant even take a picture. Its so annoying.

### 1/5 — Just why.

*2025-06-09, version 2.3.75*

Complete waste of money for an app that has too many bugs to count and makes helicopter parents worse then they should be. I fell victim to this app three years ago and it never gets better. Of course as a teen that wants some trust I know for a fact I will never put my kid through this.

### 1/5 — How bad it is

*2025-05-24, version 2.3.75*

It has caused my phone to bug and my mom hats it to

### 1/5 — 😡

*2025-04-11, version 2.3.75*

Stupid app!

### 1/5 — So buns

*2025-04-09, version 2.3.75*

I’m a 11yo with this app that my mom installed for me. I SEARXHED IT UP AND IT LEAKS UR INFO?! THIS APP IS SO BUNS BRO I CANT EVEN SEE WHAT THE APP DOES. DONT DOWLOAD THIS IT HOLDS TONS OF VIRUSES AND LEAKS INFO AND LOACATION

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great

*2025-05-07, version 2.3.75*

My mom put this on my phone she is pretty good about it she won’t check it unless I give a reason the only thing I think I have to say is bad is that it had blocked like Amazon for me and my mom never locked that website so it was like “shopping” but yeah I’ll I liked the app it wasn’t dreadful to have on my phone or anything idk what’s so bad about it:3

### 5/5 — Best app for kids with a phone

*2023-06-02, version 2.3.63*

Keep up with your kids it will save their life!!!

### 5/5 — Honest opinion 🙃

*2023-02-22*

So all the teens are like this is garbage while us kids are like it’s not that bad sure we will grow to be wanting privacy and that’s why my parents gave me a new room hey it’s not the app creators fault that your parents don’t want you to watch and be on 18+ stuff. The only problem I have is when sometimes I click into a article on the Harry Potter website and it’ll be like 104 error or field headers too large, if you could fix that it be great 👍
⚠️Warning you can accidentally type something wrong and like mixed adult shows up when I look up something and it was nothing of that.⚠️
                                                -a user

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2022-04-27, version 2.3.55*

You know this app is legit when most of the reviews are crying children sad they can’t look at pr0n. I get to see my kids messages, restrict inappropriate websites/apps, and know their location.

### 5/5 — The reason

*2022-04-06, version 2.3.55*

This has so many bugs. On my phone I can’t edit my text and it goes back to the home page same with calls. Other than that it’s a great app that is the reason why I gave it that review.

### 5/5 — Good! (Kids pov)

*2022-01-01, version 2.3.55*

Ok so, this app is realy goood! I personally don’t wanna see people videos of privates, kissing etc. I would like to reamain innocent 😇
Also to all those peeps saying “IT RuInEd My ReLANSOnDHIP WITH My MOm.” That’s not the app it’s you.
⚠️problem alert⚠️
Sometimes the app would stop working and I would stumble upon 18+ stuff and no alerts so I got confused removed from my history later my dad would say barks not working take my phone and this would go for a while so that all (:

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

### 5/5 — These reviews - Proof how ignorant our kids are

*2021-12-11, version 2.3.55*

Nearly every complaint is from the children. Which must mean it works. They’re not even smart enough to write a bad review from a parents perspective. All their reviews make me WANT to install this app. They complain how this will ruin your relationship with them and cause them to be sneaky and how they have no privacy. Sounds a lot like my spoiled lying, bratty, lazy entitled child of my own who doesn’t even have his phone yet and we already have a ruined relationship where I don’t trust him. Here’s an idea children: you want this removed from your phone? Earn it. You ever learn that word in school? Earn. It’s a fundamental requirement of life.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2021-06-07*

I’ve read the bad reviews. Majority of them are from ticked off teens who feel entitled and don’t consider that their parents are trying to protect them. Talked with my kid about the app when we gave him his phone. We explained why it would be in there I also explained that things can’t be unseen or unheard. It’s my job to protect him things for as long as I can so that when he’s out on his own he can make safe, healthy choices. Accountability isn’t taking your child’s privacy. It’s helping them understand that they aren’t alone in the world to make decisions alone or deal with consequences alone.

**Developer response:** Sounds like you're doing a great job as a parent!! Thank you for your review.

### 5/5 — Perfect. Thank you for keeping me safe MMG 💚

*2020-10-06*

I used to have this app on my phone and I absolutely HATED it. It caused me to become sneaky and secretive. Now that I’m older I realize that my parents were only doing it to protect me because they care about me and love me, that is one of the only reasons why parents install this app on kids phones. The app does its job for the most part but back when it was installed on my phone I found many ways to get around it. This includes clicking on links that take me to a website that should be blocked and from there I could search whatever I wanted, and with the mmg messaging I was able to text people I shouldn’t even though my parents didn’t want me too. I am writing this review because I want other parents to know that this app works and that all the one star reviews are from kids who don’t like the app ( like me when I had it on my phone). Just make sure you explain to your kids that it’s only there to protect them and keep them safe. THANK YOU MMG FOR KEEPING ME SAFE 💚💚💚

**Developer response:** We love hearing from kids who appreciate being protected by MMGuardian. Thank you so much for sharing!

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2020-03-09*

This app is good because it allows parents to keep their kids on track by setting bedtimes and blocking bad apps. I’m 14, and it’s a good app. I could see how another kid may not like this, but I have to admit that social media is a distraction to many. This app helps. My parents didn’t do anything with my phone, and they don’t even care if I do anything inappropriate. They just don’t want me to do anything that may get me kidnapped. Thinking from a parents perspective, this is a good app.
