The app will calculate a route to a chosen vendor or building, complete with the moving blue dot with compass/current direction. The routes themselves are very efficient and what a real person who was extremely familiar with the fairgrounds would do. If the developer, Daniel, can add multiple stops to the route feature, I will go to the fair extra times just to use this app 😃 ### 5/5 — Great idea! One idea… *2024-09-03* This is the best app ever. As someone who only gets to the fair once a year and is overwhelmed by trying to navigate how large it is this is a game changer. We loved this and it made it sooooo easy to see what was near us on our wish list. One idea… we all hear about how everyone rates the food sooo why not implement this into the app! A rating system would be soooo fun and helpful. Could even through a cute theme to the ratings (instead of 5/5 stars you could do 5/5 corn dogs, corn cobs, MN on a sticks, etc to theme it up). This way the fair goers can share their thoughts and maybe even some photos. It turned out to be one of the best fair resources ever. The fact that all the data is downloaded to the app made all the difference because once you’re there you have virtually no service. Everything in the app is searchable, has a ton of information on each place, booth, exhibit, etc. and maps out a route for you to get there. The official State Fair app, which coincidentally released this year, was subpar in comparison and I was so glad to have found this. I am excited to see how it develops for the 2025 Fair. I’d even pay to use it. ### 5/5 — Exactly what I’ve been looking for! *2024-09-02* I saw someone post about this app on Reddit. I’ve tried using the official state fair app before but it was sort of glitchy. I figured this app is free, why not give it a shot? It worked PERFECTLY! I was able to favorite any food stands I wanted to try before getting to the fair. Once I was there, I opened the app and chose which one of the stands I had favorited. Then, it opened an interactive map and showed where I was and where the stand was located and gave me directions. It was great!! And it isn’t just for food stands either, you can find anything on it! I used it multiple times throughout the day, my friends were asking about it as well because it made navigating the fair so much less stressful. I will definitely be using this again in the years to come ### 5/5 — Everything I Always Wanted *2024-09-02* This app is everything I always wanted. As someone who has hand drawn maps before to plan out a food route, this is perfect. New feature idea: must have vs wish list tagging. Being able to prioritize can help nail down a route to get an the things you must have. Then you can sprinkle in some wish list items along the way. Not to be cliche but if I could give it 10 stars, I would! It’s just so dang useful and helpful. The map shows exactly where you are and it moves along with you so you if you’re going in the right direction. The list of food vendors is helpful too. As is the information regarding the shopping vendors. I like how it’ll say if the vendor takes credit cards or not (if it’s known) and whether or not there’s a discount available. We used the map to find my way back to the buses and I’m so thankful for that as it was still very crowded and getting dark by the time we were leaving. Thanks for updating it and bringing it back! The one thing I would love to see next year is adding accessibility - there are ASL interpreted shows daily, and I’d love to see a symbol next to each one so it’s easy for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing folks to plan their day around stuff they can attend (or add as a filter). If you look at the accessibility info on the website, it’ll show all that info- it would be so cool to incorporate that into this app!
