### 5/5 — Einfach genial!

*2018-11-02*

klare Kaufempfehlung!

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2017-04-14*

As the title suggests, this is an excellent app allowing anyone to easily and quickly learn the Major system. Using this app for practice I can now recite pi to 200 decimal places without any difficulty and am learning the next hundred....
Go ahead and download it.....
You'll be hooked in 10 minutes haha

### 5/5 — Gut durchdachte App

*2017-01-21*

*2016-01-21*

### 5/5 — Simply the Best

*2015-05-11*

This app is a godsend. If you want to master a Major or Dominic mnemonic number system this is an excellent application. The website help is excellent with concise directions.
The app makes it very easy to plug in pictures you choose off the web or your photo album to match your numbers. The game of matching is especially helpful with the plus of picking out the range of numbers / photos to play with. It keeps your interest which helps when learning.
I come to this as an older adult who doesn't mentally visualize well. Practice with this application is helping that. Finally, it's simply wonderful to go from learning about these techniques to actually practice them. If you're new to this memory technique I strongly encourage you to do a little more reading on this technique or learn about it via a youtube video and then come back to this app. And check out his Mnemo Route application too. The developer's feedback was quick, cordial and helpful when I had a question. I'm using his app on an older IPad 2. I hope he comes out with an Pad version.

### 5/5 — Awesome Trainer for Memory Systems

*2015-04-26*

This app is impressive for its functionality and worth the price. I am a newbie in learning the major system, but not for long!

### 5/5 — Alles, was ich für das Major-System benötige!!!

*2015-04-19*

Wow! Empfehlung!

### 5/5 — Good app

*2015-03-04*

This is a good app for learning the major system and gives you a way to add your own numbers and build a custom major system image list.

### 5/5 — Genial für Einsteiger

*2015-01-04*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not impressed

*2017-11-03*

Not sure what the other reviews are on but it lacks a user friendly UI. I'd recommend saving yourself $10 and using another developer app.

**Developer response:** Dear K. Cantu,
The UI is optimised to best help you with learning the Major System. If you have questions I recommend contacting support. This is easily done from inside the App. Choose Info - Contact Support.
Best Regards
Gerald

### 3/5 — Ok so far.

*2023-07-08*

But very expensive, shame the other app mnemo route isn’t included which would at least make it feel better value.
I wouldn’t really recommend it at this price, and given the number of reviews it seems that that is the general consensus.

### 3/5 — A few issues for an expensive app.

*2023-01-26*

Conceptually this is the perfect app for training major system fluency, I like the trainer.

The first thing I did was turn off images… although memory palaces are made of images, the ones here have too many interpretations. I don’t know what a macaw looks like, that picture is clearly a dart and not an arrow, how do I tell this is the sun and not the sky, etc.

You are able to edit the words and pictures, but I don’t feel like spending the time to redo the entire set of 100-1000 flash cards.

Thankfully, you can switch to words only, which is especially necessary if you break into triple digits… some words don’t seem to have photos or be translatable into a photo.

Many of the 3 digit words I have never even heard of and while they’re fine for the trainer it makes the generator less useful since the words are impossible for a layman to imagine.

There’s another major(heh) issue where sometimes Sh- words are interpreted as S words and get quizzed wrong.

I also think this app would be better off with text input as an option in word to text, since it can sometimes clue you in on the right choice by elimination.

I wouldn’t nitpick like this but this app is absurdly expensive for what is essentially flash cards, honestly you might be better off getting Anki and downloading someone’s major system set.

Please take better care in your app development if you’re going to set the price this high.

### 3/5 — Some nice ideas and implementation but annoying details to work through

*2019-02-03*

Nice clean Interface and training ideas, but if you’re an American you’re going to have to get over some unusual choices for photos. I had to simply memorize them the way the developer intends us to, and move on.

For example I sent this to Support but never heard back:

Sauce -- shows more strawberry than sauce, and chocolate is not a common "sauce"

Waste -- shows a typical holder of waste rather than actual waste

Sour -- shows a lemon, which has a sour taste in the juice, but on a big list of nouns having a photo represent a "taste" is inconsistent. Perhaps a face with a sour expression is better

Ice -- Americans think of ice cubes from the fridge, not ice crystals that are hard to see on the phone photo

Tea -- Americans almost never drink tea out of a clear glass jar. Looks more like honey

Ham -- looks more like a cut of beefsteak than the way ham is often prepared

Arrow -- very clearly NOT an arrow. That is what is called a "Dart"

Team -- would be better if one at the top was not red and all the others white, making us think of the individual at the top, not the whole “team”

Door -- more of a cartoon of a door, or a toy, than a typical door. Very few people have blue doors

Douche -- Not a good word for American English.

Nut -- most people think of walnuts, pecans, cashews, etc. NOT coconuts

Weiner -- the word is singular, so the photo should show just one

Nail -- the word is singular, the photo should show just one

Ink -- should just show the inkwell, NOT the pen

Knob -- Americans think of the device that opens a door as a knob. The photo is of a "button"

Moss -- looks more like "sprouts" or soemthing. Moss is usually seen as a green growth at the base of a tree or on a rock.

Mommy -- would be better if the mother was the focal point of the mommy picture, not the baby

Match -- word is singular, the photo should be

Rat -- the photo is very clearly what americans consider a "mouse". The grey Norway rat is what we envision as a rat

Rome -- the photo is of a dome-like building shape used in many governmental buildings in the world. Better an image a thing in Rome that has a distinctive shape that is unique looking on a 15x15 millimeter image

Rock -- word is singular, image should be of just one

Robe -- photo shouldn't include the face of a person as the focal point

Light -- of all the 1,000,000 of classic, real, day-to-day lights we all see, why choose a photo of an imaginary one coming off of the thumb that barely shows the light part?

Lamb -- word is singular, image should just be of one

Jewel -- tough one. Image is too close to "gem", another 2-number word

Judge -- Americans think of images of people who serve the role of judge, Not a statue of a Greek goodess of judgment

Sheaf -- tough one, but a sheaf of papers is more pertinent to modern lifestyle

Ship -- Very unusual ship. A typical "ship" would be an ocean liner or warship. Your image is very clearly a "ferry"

Okra -- outright wrong. That is not what okra looks like. Okra is green. Your image is of a pepper

Cook -- your image is of a hat. A "cook" is either the person who cooks (in which case a person wearing the hat with an apron makes sense) or it is a verb to cook (in which case a person in the act of cooking say on a pan at a stove.

Fuse -- the image is of an obscure type of fuse few non-auto-mechanics see. A classic 1960s "breaker box" fuse would make more sense

Foot -- Word is singular, photo should show just one. A ballet-position posed photo of 2 feet with a flower as the focal point is especially misleading

Foam -- Image is of "bubbles". Foam is generally white and the bubbles in foam are too small to see.

Fig -- Maybe that is an image of a fig, but most would think of cactus rather than fig

Fife -- To Americas a fife is a small wooden flute. The image is of a "pipe"

Fob -- The image is of a "watch". Fob is hard, but the image is not good.

Bat -- sure that might be a bat, but Americans generally think of bats in flight, where we might see their distinctive wings

Bone -- A bone alone is much better than a bone in a bowl

Pool -- too much going on, especially for a small photo on a phone. The image very well could be a beach coastline.

Pub -- image is of spigots to pull beer. A pub image would better show the front of a pub establishment on a city street.

**Developer response:** Dear aoeui555,
It is not recommendable to stick with the placeholder images of the Mnemo Major System Trainer. For best results in memorizing you should create your own customized major system. This is exactly what is supported by the App. For each number to memorize a comprehensive collection of alternative example Major System Terms is provided to choose from in the edit view.
Alternative images that suit you more can easily be chosen from camera, photo album or the integrated web search for images.
A detailed description how to edit the major system is provided from within the app in the integrated manual.
If you still have problems customizing your major system please contact support.
Best regards
Gerald

### 3/5 — Presets are poor, but you can override them

*2018-02-19*

A lot of the preset images are counterintuitive or wrong. For instance it has 88 mapped to fife, but a picture of a smoking pipe is set for that word.

**Developer response:** If you have any suggestions about better preset images, please contact support.
This is easily done from within the app. I always appreciate valuable feedback. Best Regards Gerald

### 4/5 — Nice App

*2015-04-18*

The manual was offline the day I bought it, so I had some trouble finding a few of the features. But once I was able to read the manual everything was easy to use. This is a nice, clean, pretty app for organizing major system images. I think I'll get a lot out of this app.

### 4/5 — Customization makes it Very useful

*2014-06-07*

Excellent app, with customization of words/pics you can select words that better suit your memorizing. Just would like to see randomization so as to concentrate on the numbers you are having issues with, so you can strengthen them more.

### 4/5 — Great app but...

*2014-05-17*

This is a phenomenal app and everything I was looking for in implementing the major system. This app also allows me to get a lot more comfortable with my 2 digit major system from 00 - 99. I love how it allows me to take pics or find them so easily from them web.

I only have one issue: there is little malfunctioning going on in the finding pics from web process. For example: for 22, I picked an image of a nun. Then at 28 I was trying to pic an image of a knife. However, everyone I would select the image for the knife, it would revert it back to the image of the nun for whatever reason. All I had to do was exit out of the app and re enter. However, this has happened multiple times and it's a little frustrating with a list of 100 words. Please fix this issue and I will promptly give a 5 star rating.

Most of the times it works flawlessly though.

Sincerely,
Qazi.

### 4/5 — Great app for learning major memory system

*2013-11-15*

I tried an number of apps before mnemo, and all did one thing ok, but mnemo does does it all well!

From choosing images from web for your nuemonic's and creating your nuemonic's, to training I think this is the best app for training your memory.

4 stars instead of 5 because there are some minor changes I would like to see such as number/word training and being able to re-size images.

### 5/5 — Trainer funktioniert nicht mehr

*2024-10-27*

Vielen Dank Gerald

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Tolle App

*2024-04-15*

Wirklich sehr empfehlenswert.

### 5/5 — Great App with Unique Functionalities

*2022-10-26, version 3.1*

Mnemonic is powerful yet a niche community making it hard to find useful resources.
I have always used notes or excel to create my personal PAO/Major System but this app facilitates everything. It’s easy to use and has great functionalities.
Although the app has been around for years and might not be popular, the developers recently (2022) started providing new updates to ensure it functions properly and even added new features.
I recently contacted support and got a response within hours, which is impressive given it was launched nearly a decade ago.
Very happy with the app and its developers and highly recommend it to anyone interested in creating or improving their Major System.

### 5/5 — Nach dem Update auf Version 3.0 perfekt

*2022-03-19*

### 5/5 — Love it.

*2021-06-21, version 2.6*

Simple, easy, reliable. Never disappointed me like other apps of this kind. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Gut durchdachte Lernsoftware

*2021-04-12*

Sehr gut gemachte LernApp.
