## Most critical reviews (5 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — Nice idea. Still far too unstable.

*2022-03-07*

Should not be charging a subscription for this app. Still far too many bugs that need to be fixed. Plus author does not bother to respond to email requests.
Was really quite hopeful of an app that allowed direct downloads ffom JRiver MC but will have to cancel my subscription for this till they get the bugs worked out. Also maybe not a bug but just bad design. When downloading individual songs it lomps them all into one huge listing instead of sorting by Artist\Album making them very difficult to find.

### 2/5 — Gapless playback?

*2022-03-01, version 1.5.3*

The app info claims gapless playback, but that’s not my experience, just tested on Dark Side of the Moon. Is gapless only in the paid version? I’m not willing to subscribe unless I know this will work.

### 3/5 — Trial has too many limitations

*2022-09-12, version 1.5.6*

On the outside it looks and started to feel like something I would use but the “trial” doesn’t make sense. If users are given a week to test, all options should be enabled to properly test. I already have issues with subscription apps but to lock down the trial is madness.

### 5/5 — Replacing JRemote since iPadOS 26

*2025-09-22, version 1.6.0*

Since updating to iPadOS 26 Jremote crashes when viewing Playing Now. I found this replacement and it works perfectly.

### 5/5 — Great App for controlling JRiver Media Center

*2022-03-04, version 1.5.3*

I started using this app to remotely run JRiver Media Center that serves up music files to my stereo DAC from a MacBook’s USB output. For many years I used iTunes and Apple’s “Remote” app for this same set up but I tired of the limitations of iTunes “Music” app regarding hi-res files and FLAC encoded files. Now I can use JRiver with all the convenience of the “native” Apple solution (Music app and iOS Remote app). It is very stable and I have had no issues with it once set up. Very happy with the outcome.
