### 5/5 — Great

*2019-09-17*

A great way to practice methods after a long break from ringing. Used to have the pc version. Amazing to have this in my pocket! Thanks!!!!

### 5/5 — Belltastic!

*2019-08-29*

As a newby ringer, Mobel is fantastic at teaching methods, even though I’m still on plain hunt, it allows you to move round the bells without having to concentrate on the handling of the bells- it’s so clever. My brain is finally realising what I’m supposed to be doing. Can’t wait to put it into practice at our next meeting.

### 5/5 — Bobs and singles

*2019-08-24*

Really useful app but the only down thing is that I can’t put and bobs or singles in the method

### 5/5 — Great, but could do without the sallies

*2019-03-07*

Wonderful app, but when I use it to play the method, I would prefer just the rows of changes on the screen (in a bigger font). I’m not interested in the sallies

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2019-01-09, version 2.2.6*

Really helpful in getting to grips with different methods and timing.

### 5/5 — Great for learning methods

*2018-11-10*

My tower has relatively heavy bells (tenor 23cwt) and long ropes so while I’m working on my basic technique it’s good to have an app like this to learn methods, so I understand the changes in advance.

### 5/5 — Really useful

*2018-11-06, version 2.2.6*

This is my goto app for ringing!

### 5/5 — Comprehensive, user friendly.

*2018-06-30*

Great app comprehensive but user friendly. I have found it has helped my ringing. Thanks

**Developer response:** Thanks for 5*. About Reverse Canterbury: maybe you're using RC Minor, where 2nd plain hunts because it's a twin hunt method. If you use Single Canterbury Minor, you'll get the equivalent of RC Doubles. That's the way it is!

### 5/5 — Really useful for learning and practice

*2018-06-09*

I am a novice, and the way this app is designed is so helpful for me! It offers a lot of flexibility in what and how you can practice, offering details for study and just-in-time reference during practice.

### 5/5 — Linda Phelps

*2018-05-23*

I find Mobel a very valuable source for learning methods, I struggle with rope sight and was going to give up ringing after a couple of years because I couldn’t progress.

After using a simulator I realised I found it much easier to hear the bells and my place, so I now ring primarily by listening and learning the circle of work in a method and practicing it on here before ringing ‘live’! I am also trying to observe the bells and work on my rope sight to back me up!

So I will be rating Mobel at full whack! Hugely recommend. 😀

### 5/5 — Elderly Slow Learner

*2018-05-12*

Love it. You can get plenty of private practice in going through a method on any bell before "coming out" and ringing it for real. And I think it's improved my striking too. Brilliant.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app!

*2018-04-13*

Lets me practice methods my tower cannot usually ring, so when I do get the chance I know more or less what I am doing! Invaluable. Also does get the ear attuned to perfect striking, so just a matter of getting the body to do what it's told...Has allowed me to learn complex methods so I score QPs at first blows in method. Crucial with the lack of advanced practices available. Team behind it very responsive to feedback and new version even better than before! Helped me get my first 7-spliced minor recently 🙂

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2018-04-06*

I have used Mobel for years. It is the reason I stay with iphones! Useful for looking up blue lines, especially as you can change which bell. I have spent many hours using it to learn, then ‘practise’ methods for both tower and handbells.
Being able to enter compositions has taken Mobel to a new level.
When I had an issue Chris replied quickly and was really helpful.
Can’t recommend Mobel highly enough.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unhelpful support

*2025-03-05, version 2.4.4*

Support when requested was unhelpful to the point of rudeness.

### 1/5 — Great app recently ruined!

*2024-08-15*

I’ve used Mobel on iPad and iPhone for many years and love it.
However, the most recent update has totally destroyed the timing of when I touch the screen to the bell actually ringing. It is impossible to strike the selected bell correctly - this makes it almost unusable! Please could you fix this??
Thank you

### 2/5 — Unreadable

*2019-05-23, version 2.2.6*

I was looking forward to using this but the settings in the information list are jumbled and unreadable.

### 2/5 — Big disappointment

*2016-06-17, version 1.3.0*

This app has not improved since it was a pc program. You cannot learn or practice ringing from it. What is does well, is to list methods, show blue lines and simulate methods being rung. Pay for this and be happy, but do not expect it to be any use for improving your ringing.

### 3/5 — Pretty good, however…

*2022-01-15*

I have benefited strongly from this app, as it has improved my ringing drastically over the years. However, I would like there to be specific compositions available for methods on stages above 8 bells, on at least 10 and 12, ideally, just like they offer the composition of Grandsire 1260 on 8 bells, for example. Furthermore, a variety of keys would be nice to have for the ringing. There is a glitch with the treble, as it cannot be activated as soon as the rounds start, so I think that should be fixed.

**Developer response:** If you want more compositions, you can add them! The Help pages tell you how.

### 3/5 — Temperamental

*2020-02-19*

Rung bell intermittent malfunction. Seems overly sensitive to pressure. Reported to contact e-address without response. Fine when it actually works as intended. Frustrating when it doesn’t.

**Developer response:** Mobel is not "sensitive to pressure", it just responds when iOS reports that you've touched the screen. I didn't get a mail from you. Please mail again, or phone (number is in the home page Help).

### 4/5 — Very good

*2019-08-06*

An excellent aid to learning a new method.
It is a shame that you cannot select the key of the bell sound as you can on the full computer version.

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2019-03-19*

Wonderful for a beginner Bellringer to fumble through methods without having to ask too many foolish questions on the tower......

### 4/5 — Great app for getting familiar with methods

*2017-10-21, version 2.2.2*

Really useful both in and out of the ringing chamber.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2017-09-19*

Great app. Just need to get Bluetooth headphones to sync (there's a slight time tag).

**Developer response:** Yes, Bluetooth headphones cause a lag in the sound. There's nothing Mobel can do about that: it's the way Bluetooth is.

### 5/5 — Great app - really useful

*2026-08-07*

I’ve used Mobel on iPad and iPhone for many years and love it.

Thank you

Fixed ages ago - great program

**Developer response:** This was a temporary problem due to Apple changes in iPhone 14. Fixed long ago!

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2024-08-28, version 2.4.1*

Fantastic teaching aid

### 5/5 — 24

*2023-06-04*

Is there a way to put 24 bells on this app

### 5/5 — 24

*2023-01-11, version 2.3.4*

Is there a way to put 24 bells on this app

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2022-09-20*

The app is spectacular when it comes to bell ringing. The only thing I can say about it now is maybe it needs half or full muffled clappers. That’s the only thing with it. I hope to see future updates.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2021-01-25*

During this time of ringing on Ringing Room, Mobel is a great place to practice and relearn forgotten methods.

### 5/5 — A must for learners

*2020-07-10*

Can’t fault it as it enables hours of solo practice and is really simple to use. Only thing that would make even better is if you could select to start a method at a specific point, eg, third lead, so you don’t have to keep starting from the beginning in long complicated methods while you’re learning them. Thank you!!

### 5/5 — Excellent Tool

*2020-03-27, version 2.2.7*

Excellent tool for amusement during lockdown

### 5/5 — Australian ringer

*2020-03-08*

Excellent app. Helps me practise away from the tower so I don’t annoy other ringers when I get it wrong.

### 5/5 — A ringers delight

*2020-01-14*

This is an excellent app for both learning and practicing methods. You can learn the line by tapping it out, hear the rhythm, and receive a score for your efforts. Does both tower and handbells. Useful to practice anytime you find a spare moment. I wouldn’t be without it. Just off to practice Stefan triples!
