Not for verifying fake IDs

As a bouncer I collected 23 fake ids over the weekend from various states. All 23 scanned. It was laughable considering what some of these fakes looked like.

Doesn’t show fake id

The fake id’s will scan just like real ones.

Worked for PDF417 but not mDL QR

No problem reading PDF417 the crossword like barcode on the back of licenses. But it didn’t decode a Cal mDL. It kept spinning and the request just timed out.

Not working correctly

I’ve tried numerous times to get this to add my portrait or a copy of my license and it won’t do it! And apparently once you leave the app it doesn’t retain any info! Not real handy!

FAQ

What can I do with this App?

This app can be used to validate the authenticity of a Mobile ID (mID) or Mobile Driver’s License (mDL) so that you have the confidence that the person conducting the transaction is who they say they are. The app operates in a convenient, contactless manner without having to handle physical ID cards.

How is an identity verified?

There are a couple ways to initiate an identity verification. Scanning a PDF417 barcode on a Mobile ID or physical identity card will immediately display the credential’s data, or scanning a QR code on the Mobile ID requests a set of attributes from the Mobile ID.

How are verification transactions secured?

Verification transactions initiated by a QR code scan are 100% secure through the use of device authentication and data encryption giving full trust and assurance that the data received is accurate.

Who developed this App?

Mobile ID Verify was developed by IDEMIA, a pioneer of Mobile ID (mID), a government issued digital ID. IDEMIA is a global leader in Augmented Identity, providing a trusted environment for citizens and consumers.

Does the app store scanned data?

No, data is deleted after each scan and no data is stored on the verifier’s device. This ensures privacy and compliance with data protection regulations.
