Mobile Lactation Consultant is the premier electronic charting and patient health records software for the iPad, iPhone and Mac. Lactation Consultants hand their iPad to the client and they fill out their entire health history and sign all documents and consent forms. Clients can also use the web-based client portal to fill out their initial paperwork.  Then the Lactation Consultant uses the iPad to record breastfeeding visits, maternal exams, infant exams, billing, create tasks, notes and anything you can possibly think a IBCLC, CLC, CBE or CLE would need to record. IT'S TIME TO GO PAPERLESS!!! 

Best of all, Mobile Lactation Consultant does not need to be connected to the internet to work like other web-based EHR solutions do. So if you need to attend a breastfeeding consultation at a home, NO WORRIES! If there is no internet connection the app will work just the same. Later, once an internet connection is detected all of your data will backup to the Mobile Lactation Consultant servers and other users in your practice with different iPads will automatically get updated with the new data you entered!

I can’t believe this has a 4.3 rating. The UI is tedious and poorly designed. The app is not WCAG compliant. After filling out the initial forms, I hope I never need to use it again.

I work in technology, and have done so for the last 15 years. When I say that this is the worst app I’ve ever come across, I mean it is worse than what I’ve seen middle schoolers write having only had a year of coding experience. 

This app makes absolutely no sense. It has redundant questions. It is not intuitive. It’s hard to use. important questions are cut off because it’s not formatted for mobile use and on top of that at the end when you’re supposed to submit all the documents and sign, the section that it refers you to doesn’t actually exist

Whoever is writing that this app is “five stars” is a liar, and this app needs to be completely reformatted, and in my opinion, whoever originally developed it for you should be brought up on charges for fraud.

For women to go through this after having to give birth it’s of a similarly painful experience, without an epidural. 

If possible, use a lactation consultant that actually knows what the hell they’re doing

I have been using Mobile Lactation consultant for eight years now since I started my private practice Lactation consulting business. Not having any experience with app based medical portals I really didn’t know what to expect. I found the app easy to customize and use the functionality works well and rarely has glitches or problems. I love that you can see growth, charts, medications, summaries, notes, etc. I also love the integrations between texting email faxing documents and all the other things you may need to do on a day-to-day basis. I have added over 100 note and exam template and was able to upload my favorite patient handouts website, links and videos to easily share with my patient for follow up.The hands-down best part of this app is the customer support. They are responsive usually the day that you have an issue and the turnaround for fixing things are helping is about 24 to 48 hours which I have not found with any other app.

I’m sick of everything being done through apps and electronic systems. It is not safe and contrary to what everyone thinks, it’s not efficient. I want a human to hand my stuff to and explain what it is I’m signing. Ridiculous.

This app is excellent! We input over 500 new charts a year, lots of data. It works super well, really user friendly. When we have had to make changes, we get fast courteous service. Absolutely no complaints!!

This is the worst app I’ve ever used. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. It’s as if you’re trying to complete something on a site meant only for a computer, but on your phone. There are so many glitches I’ve never been so frustrated using an app.

I still have a concern about when you save the information and then click “done”, that if you add one more item, and click save, then “delete” is where “done” was previously.  I had to re-enter all of my information, because I accidentally clicked on the “delete”.  

I would like you to add “Greenish Yellow” to the stool color choices.  

I would like you to not require completing “months breastfeeding” to save the names of the other children.  It will not let you go the next child’s name without completing the “months breastfeeding”. 

I would like “none” to be able to stay on the mother’s health history, if she has any health conditions.  Right now, if you select “none”, then it goes away.

I would like you to add the “First time baby received formula” and the “Last time the baby received formula”.
