## What is MobileArq?

MobileArq is an a mobile directory for schools. Parents can access the contact information of other parents and teachers in their school community. Also available is access to the school calendar, newsletters and school related information. The PTA/PTO in school populates the data in the directory in collaboration with MobileArq.  
MobileArq also provides a fundraising platform through which you can raise PTO Dues and donations and support through sponsorships.

App freezes on white page when trying to open it. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but but seem to help. I don’t see any app permissions being asked or in settings. Can the dev support team pls?

As an involved patent at my child’s school it seems I am always coordinating play dates, birthday parties, and events. It’s nice to not need to dig out the old directory and page through to find the people I need to contact.

Such a great app! It’s so awesome to have access to class lists and parent & teacher contact information right from the app on my home screen. Our school loves it and has been using it for several years now. We even started using it for Fundraisers, Apparel Sales, and Lunch Ordering.

This app is great! I can easily look up parent, teacher, admin, etc contact info (phone, cell, email,etc) to set up a play date with another parent, as the teacher a question, etc....no more running home to find the school directory (where is that?)...on my phone, on my hip, I can set up a play date anytime...cool

Since my earlier review, the developer seems to have actually realized that being a bookmark only was not cutting it and today, 12/2, an update appeard that changed the "app" so that it actually works more like an actual app.

It seems that the "remember me" feature for the previous bookmark-to-safari-page iteration relied on having safari settings on the most open, unsecure setting allowing all cookies.

While the developer seems to have resolved this issue, the underlying issues of the data accuracy and user participation remains.  Still waiting to see these fixed.  If it is a matter of our district using "opt-in" vs. "opt-out" this needs to change.

This one seems to be improving, but I still believe there are better tools.  I'm wondering how the organization subscription costs compare to other, more robust option...

I'm also intrigued by the appearance that other reviews seem to address my specific concerns.  This smacks of persuasion by the developer to write a positive reviews in response to mine.  I think this may prove my point about her marketing skills.

Review on 11/7:
If I could give this “app” zero stars, I would.  First and foremost IT IS NOT AN APP.  It is a bookmark that opens a mobile website in Safari.

As for the functionality and usefulness, it is woefully inadequate.

The “directory” relies on data entry by parents who register and population by data being carried over from the previous school year.  There is no mass data import by an administrator, nor any data cleanup to remove students who have not returned.

Based on a quick count of students, participation seems to be less than 50%, at best.  This is not useful when trying to contact parents who have “not gotten around to it” or most likely, can’t figure out how to access it.

The other frustration is that even though the web page has a “remember me” check box and I have allowed cookies, I STILL have to log in with my email address and password EVERY TIME I VISIT THE “app”.

There are better tools available (TeamSnap is one).  This tool seems to be in use in our district only because of a personal relationship with the owner of the company.  If your district is considering it, think long and hard before implementing.  It is not at all what it is held out to be.  The owner is much better at marketing than she is at application development.

I have been the coordinator for my kids’ school directory since our school started using MobileArq in 2012. It has been a wonderful resource for the families in our school — so much so that our district adopted MobileArq for the directories for all 5 schools in our district this year. Switching between schools (if you have children in more than one school) in the directory is seamless. The owner of the directory is incredibly accommodating and helpful and constantly improving the directory.

I would like to respond specifically to some of the points in Madisonmom2119’s review. First, the directory owner has never stated that the directory is an app. She added it to the App Store to help those who wanted a really easy way to have the directory bookmarked on their phones. Second, It is not the directory owner’s fault that parents do not put their information into the system. Most parents do, but it is true that not all do. That is the fault of those parents and the district, NOT the directory owner. Third, have never had a problem with the “remember me” way of logging into the directory. 

Finally, when our school signed up with MobileArq, it was not due to a personal relationship. We did not know each other prior to MobileArq coming to my attention when we were looking for an online directory for our school. I have found the directory owner to be a lovely, helpful, kind person, which is a bonus, but not why we signed up with MobileArq.

Our directory is easy to use and its features are always being updated. The support desk is extremely helpful and efficient. I have no reservations in recommending this directory to any school looking to go paperless!

I love that the future of directories is on your phone and not printed. I love quickly being able to check which kids are in my child's class and can contact a parent from the playground or field trip. I love that you can go directly to maps from inside the application to find a friends home. 

We have had a few parents who have struggled to get the app working on their phone, which is a bummer, but those who are using it, love it!
