### 2/5 — Convenience fee is insane

*2025-11-10, version 1.1.1*

So expensive every time I pay for that fee. I would rather pay in cash

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2025-01-09, version 1.1.1*

You can’t easily remove vehicles. Often times your only option is way more time than you need (e.g. if you only need 20 minutes the minimum time the app offers is 1 hour).

### 2/5 — Inflexible and Possibly Malicious

*2024-03-13, version 1.1.1*

There isn't an option to end your parking reservation early. If I misjudge how long I'll need parking, I lose money paying for a spot I am not occupying. I don't understand why they have the system like this, except to maintain profit from convenience fees through the transaction. The transaction could be finished at the end of your parking reservation, allowing you to adjust the time (longer or shorter) based on your need. They chose not to do this, and the app is less flexible and more taxing as a result.

This app was introduced here and completely replaced our coin meters. Now we HAVE to pay the more expensive app price, because it charges a convenience fee. I don't appreciate yet another aspect of my life becoming more expensive.

### 2/5 — Faulty

*2022-06-16, version 1.1.1*

I installed this app because I was going to be in Champaign for several hours and wanted to be able to park closer to the student union. I found a nearby parking spot, and I used the app to pay for eight hours at the meter (The meter said you could park up to 10 hours there). After about five hours I ran back to my car for something, and was surprised to see that the meter was flashing that it had expired. I’m not sure how long it had been flashing, but it was at the very least, three hours earlier than it should have been. I left a note in my windshield explaining that, with the authorization number for my eight hour transaction, and went back to campus for a couple more hours. I did not receive a parking ticket, but was disappointed to see that the app didn’t work as it should, and I could’ve easily gotten a ticket even though I still had a few hours left that I had paid for.

### 4/5 — Solid, but one thing missing

*2020-09-29, version 1.1.1*

Easy to use, works well, but as I learned yesterday when I went to the ARC without my phone, no Apple Watch app. Please add!

### 5/5 — Yorkville Christian

*2020-02-21, version 1.1.0*

Great app and easy way to pay your parking meter. Very convenient.

### 3/5 — Potential crash fix

*2019-12-12, version 1.0.6*

The app may load if you go to General—>Notifications—>MobileMeter and select Allow Notifications.

Frustrated this app hasn’t been updated in 2 years.

### 1/5 — F mobil meter

*2019-12-12, version 1.0.6*

There is no support
App doesnt work

### 1/5 — Repeated crashes, can’t pay meter

*2019-11-26, version 1.0.6*

This app doesn’t seem to be compatible with the new iOS. It keeps crashing so I can’t pay a meter.

### 1/5 — Bug fix needed

*2019-11-23, version 1.0.6*

Was great for a long time, but now it crashes immediately every time I open it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-07-14, version 1.2.0*

I paid for an hour. The app says I have an hour, but the meter reads 6 minutes.

### 1/5 — Perfect combination of difficult to use and lots of bugs.

*2026-05-29, version 1.1.1*

Where to begin. First, it did not accept my phone number when creating an account. Next, despite the option to pay from a mobile wallet, I could not pay from Apple Wallet - resulting in me not being able to return to the previous screen, and having to completely close the app and login again. Congratulations to MobileMeter for being exceptionally awful!

### 1/5 — Won’t recognize my phone number

*2025-09-26, version 1.1.1*

Can’t even sign up

### 1/5 — Can’t update profile

*2025-02-20, version 1.1.1*

The app asked me to update my information so that I can have my receipt sent. When I try to change the state, the app shuts down and I need to retry doing the same but it is a loop and I can’t select another state than IL.

### 1/5 — No thanks.

*2025-01-04*

Provides no method to opt out of cookies in app. Automatically opts-in to non-essential cookies. Provides no method of deletion of account. Deactivation is not deletion. Does not allow reading of full terms of service. Spyware delivery app for the cities of champaign and urbana and required by the university. Now you can’t even pay with physical currency at the meters anymore.

### 1/5 — Faulty app

*2024-08-24, version 1.1.1*

I have never received a reminder/notification despite having that feature toggled on. I have received citations, though the app says I still had time left on the meter. The app does not retain enough parker history info to keep a record (so I could not contest my citation). The option to email myself a receipt would not work. The app says to visit the website for more history, but the text is jumbled as to what website to go to. Any Mobile Meter website I found does not include an option to search parker history. No help or support options within the app (or website), only a list of FAQs that don’t address any of these issues. Disappointing app, not reliable.

### 1/5 — Crappy UI, Terrible for End Users

*2021-08-26, version 1.1.1*

This app aims to replace coin based meters by allowing accessible online means of paying for parking. It does provide means of paying, but passes all overhead to the user, charging a convenience fee for each parking payment. The UI is completely outdated.

### 1/5 — Beware

*2020-02-10, version 1.1.0*

While I like the convenience of this app (I never carry change) I feel like they are scamming people. For example, I used it earlier today, I had no idea how long my stop would take so I selected 2 hrs. The physical meter does not show my time, only the app. I came out after 15 mins. There is no way to stop the meter or get refunded the other 105 minutes and since it doesn’t show on the actual meter the next motorist who stops and uses the meter will end up paying AGAIN rather than using my left over time. The company or the city (whoever gets the money) is “double dipping”. That’s just not right.

### 1/5 — No work for the latest IOS

*2019-12-22, version 1.0.6*

Not working after updating my system

### 1/5 — Crashes & trouble opening app

*2019-12-16, version 1.0.6*

App crashes and at times does not even open.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2023-06-16, version 1.1.1*

I really like this app. It comes handy when your a college student on campus it gives you up to two hours and you can reload time on your meter for cheap like buck seventy-five and your good. I’m mad appreciative to the genius who came up with this.

### 5/5 — Yes!

### 5/5 — Great parking App

### 5/5 — Pay parking app

*2022-03-11, version 1.1.1*

Very easy and quick. Love it. It also gives u timer to keep track of how much time u have left. Love it 🙌🏾

### 5/5 — Exactly what you want, nothing you don’t

*2021-12-15, version 1.1.1*

I never would have thought I would review a parking app, but this app is so easy to use, logically laid out, and I’ve never had a single problem with it. The features are great without ever being “bloated.” Super easy to punch in your parking zone, extend a parking session, etc. Use of parking apps isn’t exactly voluntarily, so I appreciate that the devs bothered to do a good job with this one.

### 5/5 — It works

*2021-01-07, version 1.1.1*

So that’s good 👌

### 5/5 — Great service

*2020-07-15, version 1.1.1*

Great app
