You can’t just pay per ride — you're forced to top up a minimum of €10. I used €2 on a short ride, and when I tried to ride again, the app blocked me, saying I needed at least €10 balance just to unlock a bike, even though I had €8 left. To ride again, I would’ve had to top up another €10 — effectively spending €20 for two short trips. To make it worse, if you want your money back, they charge a €5 "refund fee" just to return your own unused credit. This is exploitative and clearly designed to trap users into leaving money in the app. There's no transparency about this up front, and no way to pay as you go. Feels like a scammy system dressed as a convenient mobility app. I’ve requested account deletion under GDPR and won’t be using this again. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-07-21, version 44* Don’t do it. Most of the bikes are broken and customer service responses are painfully slow. You get charged the 1.99 even if you lock a broken bike back right away. They have the audacity to charge a 4.99 fee for closing an account after a request for a refund of the remaining account balance. The GPS system is terrible, and you have to guess where to park even when the bike is exactly where they say it should be. It’s clearly designed to make you lose time and pay more. Constantly glitching ### 1/5 — unreliable to the point of dangerous *2026-07-03, version 58.63* you’re better off ordering a taxi most of the time!! quicker, costs about the same and safer. and less sweaty and stressful. the final straw for me was when i was cycling on a really busy street when the bike suddenly decided to jam itself or something and then was saying something to me in portuguese i think?! i could cycle but only REALLY slowly and using every ounce muscle i had. i had to get off the bike and abandon it. had there been more traffic i could very easily have been injured or worse because of this. i looked on the app to see if i was cycling in a no go zone or something but nope! all was green - i still have no idea why the bike did this! the app is as janky and unreliable as the bikes. been using these bikes occasionally over 3 months which has proven to be enough times now to be sure it is majorly overpriced for the quality of the bikes and app. many bikes are often broken but you don’t know that till you walk all the way to them and scan them. the map is hard to navigate - you cant find where you are and often either doesn’t show bikes that are there or shows bikes that aren’t there. the whole system of locking the bikes is, frankly, stupid. most of them just have code 0000 and the bikes are already locked by the wheel, and most users don’t bother to lock them. but if they do bother then sometimes they don’t unlock with the code provided! the payment is system is also very annoying. it should just debit your card rather than demanding that you top up. please don’t waste your money on this service. use freenow or uber or bleeker bikes or buy some rollerblades honestly! ### 1/5 — Rip off *2026-04-11, version 58.25* Hired an e-bike. 36 minutes. 4.5km. €10!! Would have been cheaper to take a taxi. ### 1/5 — Theft *2026-03-17, version 58.14* I used their bikes once in Dublin; they work well. However, I had to deposit €5 into my account to rent the first bike, and that money wasn't used for my reservation—another charge was made on top of that. Then, when I wanted to close my account, they charged me a €4.99 fee to withdraw my €5, explaining that it was the financial company’s fee (even though the actual fee from that company doesn’t exceed €2). This is clearly theft with impunity. I am outraged by such practices. I'm asking an immediate refund before taking legal action. ### 1/5 — TOTALLY SCAM *2026-01-26, version 57.95* I've been charged for €10 for 2 broken bike. Then I couldn’t unlock a bike and now they are refusing to refund it without a fee of 4.99€. ### 1/5 — Faulty Bikes *2025-11-21, version 57.62* Half of their bikes are unable to actually be unlocked in addition to the ones that will lock up while you’re biking.
