I transferred a little over $1000 into the account. When I tried to pay a small bill with my card, it was declined. When I called to check on it, they say the account was closed a week before the call for suspicious activity and that my money would be mailed to me in 10 business days. As far as I’m concerned, there has been no activity on the account and they didn’t notify me of the activity or that they closed the account. I’m still waiting on my money. I didn’t join out of necessity, I was trying to support black business. ### 1/5 — Bad app *2020-08-08* I was using the app until l made transactions then when l log in again it says user not found but l was able to change password and receive newsletters from them. I sent a screenshot to customer support which hasn’t been replied until now. Lol ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2024-04-03* I cannot access my account it’s not accepting my login info and it’s not letting me change my login info ### 1/5 — Do not waste your time or put your money at risk *2023-12-29* I really wanted to support this bank because it is black owned and it’s mission statement is powerful in wanting to create equity but they failed to protect me and support me in getting my money back after I was deceived, manipulated, and tricked by a merchant into ending a dispute in order to receive a refund that they never provided me. 3 months of going back and forth and having no choice but to miss spending the holidays with my family due to lack of available funds for me to travel and I still never received my refund. I would have expected them as my bank that is supposed to protect my money and who cares so much about equity and financial justice to understand the situation at hand and get me my money back but instead they didn’t. Even though I had all the evidence and screenshots to prove my case they gave me no resolution and quite frankly did not care. I do not wish for this to happen to anyone. I sat here on Christmas, alone, and depressed because I couldn’t get back to my family. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GETTING INVOLVED WITH THIS BANK. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY REGRET IT. ### 1/5 — No help whatsoever *2023-12-19* Do not use them if you can help it. Im stuck because of a program through my city, but please google this bank before you open an account. There is no support. I don’t have the card they said was mailed out 12 days ago. Nobody will give me a digital card number that my program said would be available immediately. Their BBB page is in shambles. And this app does literally nothing except let me look at the deposit that I don’t have access to. I am still didnt geg my money back, no support lol ### 1/5 — Don’t bother *2020-12-23* I tried activating my debit card by calling the number provided. It was disconnected. I tried emailing them. It was not setup. I thought this company was a fraud but I think it might just be a get poorly run company. Go anywhere else **Developer response:** We apologize for the poor customer experience. During the 2020 holiday season we distributed a high volume of COVID-relief payment programs, which shut down the call center for a short period of time. We've since expanded our call center capacity. Agents are now available 7 days a week to answer any questions or resolve any issues with your MoCaFi account. ### 1/5 — Terrible experience *2020-12-22* First thing I noticed after receiving the card in the mail is that there were 2 different phone numbers for their customer service and one of them was an incorrect number from a misprint. Second was to call the listed phone number and follow prompts to activate card and create a PIN. Calling the number takes you directly to customer service, which NOBODY answers! You have an option to press 1 to leave a message and they’ll call you back. I pressed 1 after 30 minutes, then it automatically hangs up the call LoL! I went online to try to activate the card, but after entering all of my personal information, the application will freeze when it asks you to agree to the policy and terms and you cannot go any further. Can’t do anything at this point. This is a real sloppy system and I don’t know how you can trust this company to handle your money. I would look closely at those 5 star reviews. Kind of funny to have mostly 1 Star reviews with a couple of fraudulent 5 star reviews. ### 1/5 — Worst bank *2020-11-15* I opened the account and I can’t do nothing with it. Was told I would have to wait for the actual card to do anything. What’s the point of the virtual card then? ### 1/5 — Can’t even inquire about my funds for 3 days *2020-11-15* Transferred funds into the account and upon making a purchase online with the virtual card, it said it didn’t work. Then it logged me out of an app that I never had to log into after signing up. Told me user not found. Changed my password, still says User Not Found. Of course it’s Saturday morning and after getting off work to call customer service...I find out they work office hours too so i can’t find out what the deal is with my transferred money for a couple more days. And according to the other reviews, MoCaFi still hasn’t rectified any issues from the bad reviews ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Wow, what an amazing card *2024-03-09* Hi this is the best thing card by far I love this card and this is the best part I ever had and I like the new features and I like that it’s like fairly new this bank and it just fits my lifestyle and I think that all around it is great and it gives you different options It’s not complicated and I got approved right away and I had good connection and I can receive messages, so this worked out for me. I see a lot of people in here. It didn’t work out for them because of the SMNS but it worked for me. So, I reached out to the founder and he shared that they are working through the banking kinks and well aware of the issues. The content, however, is great. I think the app is beautifully designed and has good content. It’s a startup. It’s not a scam. They just need to do more work on the execution as well as more testing. When it fully rolls out, it will be amazing. ### 2/5 — I want to like this *2021-02-19* But I'm not even able to open my account. I get the message saying my account is approved or whatever then it gives me an option to send my debit card... Then it wants me to confirm my SSN which I did and after that it wants to send a text message which I never receive to proceed. Tried reaching out to support to see if they could change the number to try another number and got left on read lol! Guess I'll wait for Greenwood **Developer response:** Hello StebOne.
