### 4/5 — Background color

*2025-08-29*

Does work, but there seems to be no option to change background color

### 2/5 — Lacks good screen size and mouse control

*2022-01-15, version 5.4*

This app connected to my Mac seamlessly but lacked the ability to see the entire screen at once and only allows you to use the mouse in touch mode which is very hard when the target on the screen is smaller than your finer. I also use another screen control app that isn’t as easy to connect but has screen size options and you can switch the mouse between touch and track so you can use the iPad screen more like a track pad - until I see an update to these two functions it isn’t worth the trouble to use it.

### 3/5 — Eigentlich super...

*2020-04-10*

Jeder will mit seiner Arbeit irgendwann Gekd verdienen!

### 1/5 — Dismal

*2019-01-19, version 4.7*

Cheap looking interface that seems to have had 5 minutes spent on it. Always fails to connect first time round and needs restarting. Toolbar you use to call the keyboard / other menus doesn’t show up half the time and needs a restart. 5 minute limit on free version but you needn’t worry about that since it doesn’t work so you’ll quit within 5 minutes easily. Horribly poorly built app.

No right click. No virtual scroll wheel, meaning even if you do manage to establish a - very slow - connection to your Mac, you can’t do much. Oh, and the refresh rate is dismal. It’s absolute pot luck whether features will work or not.

Overall, a weak app that’s unreliable and inconsistent. Hilarious that they imagine this is an encouragement to pay for the full version. You’d be better off throwing your money into a lake.

### 1/5 — Unusable and hard to follow

*2018-12-27, version 4.7*

Feels half hearted. Doesn’t work well and has terrible instructions. Eg how do you leave a session i had to kill the app to get out of a VNC session.

### 1/5 — Unbrauchbar

*2018-07-23*

Auf einmal mit Zeitbeschränkung.... unbrauchbar

### 1/5 — Aucun interet

*2018-03-28*

### 1/5 — Not support russian language

*2017-12-24*

Not write russian

### 1/5 — Enttäuscht !

*2017-11-25*

Nach update, plötzlich Zeit begrenzt. Daher unbrauchbar.

### 1/5 — Ärgerlich

*2017-09-28*

### 1/5 — 2 minute session limit?

*2017-09-22, version 4.4*

Does the Sept 2017 update retain the crazy 2 minute session limit, or did the developer see sense and return to unlimited session times?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — schlecht

*2026-07-31*

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-05-25, version 6.2*

It only gives you 5 mins of time unless you pay

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-09-17, version 6.1*

Won’t connect to Mac, connection is always refused.

### 1/5 — Not for anyone without a phd in computer science

*2022-10-01, version 5.5*

If you are not an IT professional good luck sorting through this maze of passwords, protocols, IP addresses, and menu upon menu upon confusing menu. It might also help to be able to reverse engineer what appears to be some kind of translation error in some of the instructions. I ended up feeling like my computer was going to be accessible by who knows who, but certainly not by me.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2021-12-06, version 5.4*

Used to work somewhat OK, even though limited in time (a pain), and clunky interface. Installed a new hard drive, same High Sierra OS, and now it will not connect. Found a much better free app, Splashtop, so am using it now. Basically this Mocha app is ancient, and the interface is far too complicated—-like a DOS era app! Don’t waste your time trying to get it to work

*2021-02-19*

### 1/5 — Doesn’t even work.

*2021-01-09*

It won’t even connect, even if other apps can

### 1/5 — Ne fonctionne plus

*2020-01-11*

### 1/5 — Free and nasty

*2019-07-09, version 4.8*

Terrible UI, so many poor design decisions such as different menus to configure, connect and delete connections. This app has been around for ages and yet hasn’t been improved significantly.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy if you know what you’re doing

*2024-12-20, version 6.1*

Was looking for something like this pretty straightforward. Thanks

### 5/5 — Nostalgia

*2019-12-15, version 4.9*

### 5/5 — Free access to Mac OS X

*2017-12-22, version 4.6*

This does exactly what it needs to if you need to login to your desktop and your graphics driver or card is missing or out of date. Brilliant contribution. Life saver.

### 5/5 — 2 screen ??

*2017-10-03*

How can i do with a computer with two screens ?
I can see only one... and i don't now how to change...

### 5/5 — Touch screen macOS

*2017-09-23, version 4.6*

I have three Mac Pros in a studio. Almost everyday I need to be in another part of the studio but still need to have Finder access to my host and slave Macs. I use Mocha VNC 4.4 as a part of my daily workflow. I wish Apple included Remote Desktop into iOS, but we have Mocha VNC thankfully.

With the 12.9” iPad Pro and its large real estate I can freely move around and comfortably continue to work.

I’m giving version 4.4 5-stars. I’m not sure their reasoning for providing a free lite version then suddenly giving it a 2 minute time period within a decimal upgrade, especially when many people have app upgrade on automatic. Luckily I don’t. I’m glad I read the description for 4.5 first. I feel that was a little sneaky. Perhaps so many people were happy enough with the Lite version they weren’t paying for the full version. Still, it could have been handled a little better.

That being said, it’s only $5.99. And for an app that it a part of my daily workflow, I obviously have no problem paying.

I like the features the full version adds, (mouse support- hopefully local, a Bluetooth mouse connected to my iPad Pro and fully controlling macOS just as if I was in front of Mac - I need to read the description further), Mouse Easy, and encrypted sign on.

Question: Does Mocha VNC support Mission Control via function keys, the default F3 key (hasn’t worked for me), , macros or mouse gestures? I hope so. That’s something I need. I have two monitors connected to my host Mac Pro, and each monitor has at least four desktops via Mission Control, plus I use Screen Sharing in a full screen desktop to access my Mac slaves. It would be nice if a simple swipe gesture would allow me to easily move between desktops spaces.

Regardless, my reason for writing a review is to say that I much fancy this solution which keeps macOS touch-screen free, than Windows 10. IMO, touchscreens are only ergonomically feasible if they can lay flat on a surface. Plus it enhances the Apple eco-system which I fully use and embrace, (AirPlay, iCloud and AirDrop). Anything Mocha VNC can add to improve functionality with these workflows would be very helpful.

Thanks to the developer for making a VNC app that doesn’t require me to create an account, or sign up for a service like many of the other developers do. I will never support those apps where possible.

Please keep Mocha VNC account-based free, and support Mission Control and the Apple eco-system (of you already don’t). I will be purchasing more MochaSoft apps.

### 5/5 — Phone based remote access app

*2017-09-22, version 4.6*

This app is quick to connect, easy to set up connections with and importantly for me, the only one I've found currently that allows you to tap directly to click instead of having to guide a cursor around and tap somewhere on the screen to click on an item where the pointer is.
When it went to a 2 minute time out it was almost unusable for all but a quick check on a running system but now it has a 5 minute time out, which is an improvement as although the original wasn't time restricted, it wasn't fully functional either. The free version is fully functional but if you need more than 5 minutes then the paid version removes this restriction.
In summary, this is a great way to try out the app before paying for the unrestricted version.

### 5/5 — Fixed!

*2017-09-22, version 4.6*

The time limit was raised to 5 minutes. Thank you! Honestly this is the most useful app that I have. I manage my Plex server and run ThinVNC on it. This app works perfectly. The controls and mouse clicks work well and I've been very happy with it. On average it takes about 5-10 seconds to connect and then I'm off doing whatever I need to do. I can right-click on taskbar icons and everything. I'd buy the full version if it was just a little bit cheaper.

### 5/5 — Simples porém eficiente

*2017-09-21*

### 5/5 — Vnc I use it with Raspberry Pi, MAC OSX works well.

*2017-05-09, version 4.4*

Vnc I use it with Raspberry Pi, MAC OSX works well.
