Your lights, wherever you are. MOD LIGHTING controls every smart fixture in your home from one place. Set the brightness, warm or cool the white, pick a color, and save the result so the room comes back the same way tomorrow. CONTROL Brightness and color temperature on one dial. Full color for RGB fixtures. Presets you save once and reach in a tap. SPACES Group the lights in a room into a space and set the whole room at once. Turn everything off on your way out, from the Home screen. SYNC Fixtures that should always match are linked into a single control. Change one and the rest follow. TIMERS AND SCHEDULES Give a light a countdown, or a schedule that repeats on the days you choose. PAIRING Adding a light takes Bluetooth and your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The app walks you through it, and when something does not take, it tells you what actually went wrong. YOUR ACCOUNT Sign in with your email and a six digit code. There is no password to remember. Your orders, your addresses and your store credit sit in the app next to your lights. The app is not intuitive and is difficult to navigate. Settings pages frequently overlap each other, and become unresponsive, forcing me to restart the app. The way the app functions changes based on how the winds blows. The only way to control multiple devices at once is via a Group but the app does not let you create a group and select the associated devices, it only shows certain devices based on no criteria. Making it impossible to create groups with certain devices. The app however encourages you to create Rooms that provide no benefit. What was most frustrating was the amount of time spent troubleshooting. It took four weeks and three separate support incidents to discover that some of the features advertised by Mod are not actually available for my device/setup. This was never made clear upfront and caused a significant amount of wasted time. Another major issue is the setup process. The device must be paired before installing the light, yet this critical requirement is not clearly stated in the instructions. Had this been documented properly, it would have saved hours of frustration and unnecessary support calls. Overall, between the poor user experience, frequent app issues, unclear setup requirements, and misleading feature expectations, this has been one of the more frustrating smart lighting products I’ve worked with. I hope Mod improves both the app stability and the accuracy of its documentation. A light you just paired shows on Home right away, no restart needed. Several lights blinking at once now pair one after the other, no picking between identical names. Your Wi-Fi network and password are remembered for the next light, on every phone. If your light is out of Bluetooth range, or Bluetooth is off, the app also finds it over your Wi-Fi network, with nothing extra to do. And when a pairing does not go through, the app records why, so we can help faster. ### 2.1.1 — 2026-09-17 Browse before you sign in. Open the app, try a demo light, see what Smart does, and shop the collection. Sign in when you are ready to pair. Fixes in this update. Links into the Shop open the right page. A removed example schedule stays removed. Any favorite can be un-starred, including the defaults. Home and the Lights tab read cleanly at the largest text sizes. A signed-in customer with no lights yet always has a way forward. ### 2.1.0 — 2026-09-17 Browse before you sign in. Open the app, try a demo light, see what Smart does, and shop the collection. Sign in when you are ready to pair. Schedules you can make your own. The example schedules are off until you switch them on, and you can edit or remove them. Remove all schedules on a light in one tap. Pairing picks the right light. When more than one light is in pairing mode, choose the one you mean. A correct Wi-Fi password is no longer blamed when a light will not join. ### 2.0.5 — 2026-09-17 This update fixes the controls for lights in a set when one of them is switched off at the wall. Brightness, color and temperature now follow the lights that are on, instead of jumping back to their old setting. ### 2.0.4 — 2026-09-15 Every MOD LIGHTING smart light now appears as itself. Open one and you see your own fixture, warm or cool, at the brightness you set, on its own or in sync with the others. Star more than twelve favorite effects and the row turns a page. A light you have just paired stays on Home while it finishes connecting. A synced light you moved to another space can leave its set from its own settings.
