## What is Modamal?

Modamal teaches Jeju-eo, the language of Jeju Island, through the voices of real Jeju people.

Jeju-eo shares its roots with Korean, but its tone, endings and words are different. Learn the Jeju-eo you hear at the market, at work and from your neighbors, one phrase at a time. Modamal is for foreign residents and immigrants on Jeju, travelers, and anyone curious about the language.

- Real Jeju conversations
Watch and listen to conversations by Jeju people with subtitles. Replay any line, see its meaning in standard Korean, and slow it down.

- Listen, choose, build
Short exercises help phrases stick: pick the meaning of what you hear and put words together into Jeju-eo sentences. Questions you miss come back at the end of the lesson.

- Speak along
Listen to a native speaker and say it into the microphone. Your voice is checked only on your device and is never recorded or sent.

- Chat with AI in Jeju-eo
Practice the phrases from each lesson in a free conversation with AI.

- A map of everyday places
Lessons are grouped by places you meet in Jeju life, starting with the market. Track your progress on the map.

- In your language
The app and its translations are available in Korean and English, with dark mode.
