### 2/5 — This used to be my favorite place to shop

*2022-05-16, version 10.4.0*

I used to order from ModCloth at least once a month. Ever since they updated their app a year ago it has been completely unshoppable . Yes I made up that word. It lags constantly, the filters are crap and they styles have not changed much on the last year. Things I bought last summer are still in new arrivals but most sizes are sold out. It’s very frustrating because there really isn’t another place I liked shopping as much. Please let me spend my money with you again.

### 2/5 — Modcloth is Losing my Business

*2022-05-02, version 10.4.0*

I am a longtime Modcloth customer. I would check the app every day for new style drops. But, ever since they updated the app maybe a year or so ago I have grown exceedingly frustrated with Modcloth. At first I thought, it’s a new release there are bound to be some bugs. Yet no updates came that ever fixed the problem. The app was slow, never loaded and frequently crashed. My resolution? Delete the app and shop online instead. Maybe I could save my wallet some hurting. Online was no better. A slow website never loaded. How does Modcloth think they can continue to operate a business in this day and age when your online presence is paramount? My money is not going Modcloth anymore.

### 2/5 — Where’s the love (list)?

*2021-05-01, version 10.4.0*

One of my fave things to do is browse the ModCloth app and save things in my love list or wish list. Yesterday I logged in to browse my list since I had a coupon to use and was forced to re-register my whole account because of the update. Of course that means anything in my cart or lists are all gone. Once in the app, I started browsing again hoping to add things to my lists only to find that both the love list and wish list are gone. It’s also harder to navigate to the categories and the size filter doesn’t work. Speaking of size, I also noticed that the size chart is no longer available when you’re looking at an item. I do like that the zoom feature finally returned but it doesn’t quite make up for all the lost ease of use and other features I used regularly.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. I'm very sorry for any disappointment. When the recent changes were made to the site and app, old account information sadly did not automatically transfer over. When creating a new account, if you use the same login information you had before, some of your old account info will transfer over, but it may take a bit of time. In the meantime, if you need to find specific information from a past order, please let our Customer Care team know, and they’ll be glad to assist. We are still in the process of setting up features to save items, similar to the Wishlist and Love List, as well as correcting search filters and categories. Size charts should also be returning, as soon as we're able to get those manually updated. I apologize for the wait and for any disappointment. We hope to have this resolved very soon.

### 2/5 — Frustrating experience

*2021-03-09, version 10.3.2*

As other users have noted, scrolling is not great, and removal of the ability to swipe right to back a screen is annoying. When almost every other app out there recognizes this as standard for iOS, why not have that feature?

My biggest pet peeve is the audio take-over. I’m often listening to a podcast or music and get a wild hare to see what’s new with modcloth, but it stops whatever you’re listening to, and even if you restart the media you had on, it will continue to stop it as you visit new pages. It is infuriating, and is the no. 1 reason I leave the app and don’t buy anything. Please address this unnecessary audio issue!

If browsing in a shopping app is hard or frustrating, it’s not working. Do you want our money or not??

### 2/5 — Great company, HORRIBLE app

*2021-01-22, version 10.3.2*

Let me just say— I LOVE ModCloth. It is one of my absolute favorite stores. But the app is awful. Refreshes itself constantly, ruining searches. Never says when anything is sold out. Each time I try to place an order it makes me log in, even though I click “remember me” every single time. And no matter what I order, I’m never able to complete the actual order. I’ll go through the bag, coupon, shipping info, payment, confirmation, and then when it’s time to place the actual order? A pale “Place Order” button that will not work, no matter what. I always end up having to go through the web browser to place my order, which means repeating all those steps all over again. I’d buy much more from ModCloth if they had a decent app.

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2020-07-30, version 10.0.6*

I used to really love ModCloth. Before they got bought by Walmart, they were really fantastic, with high quality unique fashion and gifts. While there are still great finds on ModCloth, I do feel like I find less and less items I would buy. That being said, the app is absolutely horrible. I deleted it a long time ago because it just kept crashing on my iPhone. I just re-downloaded it because they’re having a special sale for people who buy from the app. Well, the same exact problems as last time. I would think they would’ve been able to fix the bugs in the app by now but I guess not. I have to frequently close and reopen the app because it just freezes. I was able to add two items to my cart but it took about an hour to do that because it kept freezing and I kept having to close and reopen it. To say this is frustrating is a huge understatement. I’m about to rage quit this app for the second time. So sad because I love to shop. I really miss the old ModCloth.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. As of February 2020, we are actually no longer under the Walmart umbrella. We are under new ownership with Go Global Retail, and are once again operating as an independent brand. I apologize for any shopping inconvenience on the app. Please rest assured that your words will be shared with the appropriate teams, so that they can further investigate the issue.

### 2/5 — Shopping with this app was a grim exercise in misery

*2020-07-28, version 10.0.6*

This app is intensely difficult and frustrating to use. The menu, search, and cart buttons all don’t function. One is forced to meander through various menus and splash screens in hopes that you will eventually, by some hallowed miracle, stumble upon the item you are looking for. The “back” button is placed so that it is easily tapped at random, often after you have spent a significant amount of time desperately attempting to type in your credit card information into the finnicky text boxes. The developers of this app have completely failed in their task. Unless their task was to make shopping on it as miserable and time consuming as possible. If so, they totally nailed it.

### 2/5 — I used to love it

*2020-06-11, version 10.0.4*

Since rolling out some changes made to the ModCloth app, I find it nearly impossible to use. It can take anywhere from 3 seconds to over 1 minute for a screen to load, and sometimes it doesn’t load at all. I am using it from a brand new iPhone 11 with all relevant updates and perfect connectivity, and the app still just drags really often.

Apart from that, the quality of the clothing and overall style/allure of it has gone way down since it was acquired by Walmart, and then a different company thereafter. I used to buy from ModCloth whenever I needed or wanted something new and unique to wear, but now I maybe purchase once a year.

### 1/5 — Love ModCloth Hate the app

*2020-06-06, version 10.0.4*

It's a painful app that makes for a painful shopping experience. The apps search features doesn’t look so you can’t look up items. On top of that you can’t bring down the side menu to shop by clearance or to choose a category. So if the item you want to purchase is not accessible by one of the promotions on the front page then you are out of luck. There is no way to then access that item even if you saw it in an ad.

So when your whole order you spent time sizing and fitting to yourself gets deleted out of your cart once you log in you feel a deep sense of dread knowing you probably won’t find most those items again. I got lucky and only missed out on a couple items before I finally made my purchase out of fear my items would delete again. ( and my original order was close to 300$ now I was placing an order for 180$)

Now you might think that is bad but what makes it worse is the fact the same problems are on the mobile site too. Which makes it hard to navigate around this problem unless you are on a pc. ModCloth is a great fashion brand that I grew up loving. But they are loosing money by not having intuitive functioning app and mobile sites. I will still by from them but it’s no longer convenient and easy to purchase which means I am more likely to by from other brands unless I have time to shop on my laptop.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. Thank you for reaching out. I'm very sorry for any shopping inconvenience. Our team is aware of the current search and menu issues, and they are working on a fix, as we speak. We hope to have this resolved very soon!

### 1/5 — New app designed not user friendly

*2020-05-22, version 10.0.4*

I’ve been a ModCloth shopper for years, about 75% of my closet comes from their store. About 90% of the time I do my shopping and purchasing from the Modcloth app, but their latest app revamp is just terrible. I’ve been waiting months to see if it’ll get better with no improvements.

The app is almost indistinguishable from the website, which is not the most mobile user friendly layout. Which begs the question, why develop an app at all if it’s just a carbon coby of the mobile site? It is so slow in loading and constantly crashes. About half the time I will open the app, get a loading screen for a couple minutes and then give up. Also, despite always being logged in and having the remember me option checked, the app forces me to log in again if I want to access my order history or place a new order. My ModCloth purchases have definitely gone down in frequency since the app was redone to this non-user friendly version. Really disappointed in the quality and user experience.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm very sorry for any shopping inconvenience. We appreciate your feedback, and will be sure that it is shared with the appropriate teams.

### 2/5 — Uninstalling after 20 minutes

*2020-05-19, version 10.0.4*

I’ve had this app for 20 minutes and I’m done with it. The website is much faster. The app is SO slow to load anything. What bothers me most is that when I filter my search by size, choose S, it loads, then I have to go back in and choose XS, wait for it to load. If I want to filter other item sizes like pants, etc. it takes about 5 minutes just to set up the search parameters. Then each time I hit the back arrow from an item page, I wait, and wait... it takes me back to the top of the results page and I have to scroll to find the place I left off. I love the clothes, but I can only shop this app if I set aside a good chunk of time. Love the clothes. Please fix these little quirks!

### 2/5 — Non standard interactions

*2020-03-12, version 10.0.3*

Let’s face it, better scrolling and a more responsive feel is the main reason users download the app over the web experience.
The scrolling in this app is terrible. They slowed it down so it’s not natural. It’s like it needs some WD40. They disabled the swipe right to go back to the previous screen, the way you go back in literally every other app. So I find myself swiping on a non responsive screen dozens of times during my shopping experience. Instead they opted for a back button in the bottom right. But sometimes don’t even use it, like on the cart screen. You go in and there’s no way to go back! It’s like whoever designed this thing had never used an app before and just made up new random interactions on the fly. The back button is especially weird when you get to a carousel that has forward and back circles that look the same. Then there’s just a pile of forward and back buttons. Facebook login keeps erroring out. No option to Apple Pay.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. Thank you for reaching out with your honest feedback. I apologize for any shopping inconvenience. Please rest assured that your words will be shared with the appropriate teams. In the meantime, if you need any assistance with logging in, our Customer Care team will be glad to help. You can reach them at modcloth.com/help.

### 2/5 — Poor app functions/not intuitive browsing

*2020-02-26, version 10.0.3*

On first glance this seems like a great shopping app as it's very easy to browse- until you select an item to look closer and realize there's no "back" feature. So once you're done looking at an item, you have to redo your search terms to get back to the list of items. It took me several frustrated uses of the app to notice an arrow on the lower right-hand corner that takes you back. This is totally not intuitive as most sites/apps have the browser buttons in the same place. If I'm searching and selecting the menu from the upper left-hand corner, that's where the back function should be. I know this sounds gripey but it makes browsing the app really clunky, which isn't at all conducive to shopping.

### 1/5 — This app needs work

*2019-12-01, version 10.0.1*

I’m a long-time ModCloth shopper (and lover!), but I’ve been frustrated since the company was acquired a few years ago. Every update to the app and website seems to bring new problems. The latest version of the app on my iPad keeps logging me out. When I click login, the M just spins and spins but never loads. I tried checking out without logging in first, but when I click Checkout, the M spins and spins and never loads. I’ve tried quitting the app and reloading, to no avail.

The browsing experience is not great in the new app either. The side bar takes up too much screen space and the navigation is not intuitive. It takes forever to scroll through the results on multiple pages. I also don’t like that it only works in a vertical view. The previous app was much more user-friendly.

Right now I’m frustrated because I have items in my cart and I can’t buy them, which is the most basic thing you should be able to do on a shopping app.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. I apologize for any shopping inconvenience. Please rest assured that this will be shared with the appropriate teams, so that they can investigate further. In the meantime, you should have success browsing and shopping from the site on a mobile or web browser.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t allow you to purchase.

*2019-11-19, version 10.0.1*

I downloaded the app because you can get 25% your first purchase but it won’t allow me to actually purchase my items. The login process wasn’t working properly. I would click join and nothing would happen. I exited then it would say I was logged in. Then I would try to buy my basket but suddenly all the items were gone. I went back and out them all in but then it would freeze again. I would have to restart the app. Then it would say I was logged out and restart the process. Happened repeatedly. I am very frustrated. This needs to get sorted if you want anyone to buy your stuff.

### 2/5 — Impossible to login or checkout

*2019-11-11, version 10.0.1*

This app is only good for browsing the clothes on offer. I get logged out every time I swipe away from the app even for a second. Logging in is bizarre- I have to go to the login page, enter my details, hit “sign in,” then—with no way of knowing if my email and password were accepted, because it just stays on the login fields indefinitely—X out of the sign in page, then go back to whatever clothing I was just looking at and hope the login took.

Also, I’ve never been able to order anything from the app. It claims you get 25% off your first app order, but didn’t give me a discount when I tried buying shoes. I wanted them even without the discount, so I tried to checkout, but it rejected all three of my working cards. When I switched over to the website, it let me checkout with my first card on the first try.

I’m genuinely confused as to how this app is so bad. Having no app would be better than offering one that is so frustrating to use.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. Thank you for reaching out with your honest feedback. I apologize sincerely for any shopping inconvenience. We recently released a brand new app, and are still working out some of the hiccups that can arise with a new release. We will certainly have our team take a closer look into these issues. Our Customer Care team is also always happy to assist with any checkout questions or concerns. You can reach them at modcloth.com/help, from 9am-9pm ET, Monday-Friday.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Just not the same

*2022-04-24, version 10.4.0*

I used to LOVE ModCloth. They used to have a lot of really unique items at a reasonable cost for the quality you were getting. Now, it seems like a lot fast fashion at the same price. Seriously, $40 for a poly-cotton blend graphic t-shirt? No thanks. It truly appears like the heart isn’t in ModCloth anymore which is super unfortunate because they were my go-to for the classy yet kooky items.

In addition to the lack of heart, the app is a mess. Buttons overlapping, banners that take up a good portion of the screen, the item grid can get so off-center that half of the pictures can’t be seen.

I’m just sad, honestly. I really loved this company and to see it going south is such a shame. I’m going to be trying to find somewhere else that resembles a bit more of what ModCloth used to be.

### 1/5 — App/Branding/Marketing needs work

*2022-03-28, version 10.4.0*

I know most people have a tendency to resist change. I can be understanding up to a certain point as it relates to the company and app changes…but at this point I’ve drawn the line at the dinging noise when you open the app AND select other things while browsing… why?? Who asked for that? It’s incredibly annoying and shows that no one is actually asking customers what kind of experience they want while shopping… I have been a long time customer of ModCloth and I’m disappointed with the direction things are going. Get back to basics and focus on functionality before literally adding bells and whistles. The app is clunky and the design features are extremely busy with extra pictures, words, etc. I can almost feel the desperation of “PLEASE DEAR GOD BUY SOMETHING!!”. It makes it an uncomfortable shopping experience.

**Developer response:** Hi! Thank you for that feedback. We did recently release an update for the app (version 9.0.9), so be sure to download the most recent update. We fixed our category pages, so you'll be able to view all the mark-down styles in the sale section. Our team is actively working on the app, so check back for any future app updates.

### 1/5 — Unshoppable

*2021-09-13, version 10.4.0*

I used to love ModCloth. But I’ve noticed that every update to their app has made it harder to use- it seems like the opposite should be true. And the website is no better. You can barely filter- just one color or size at a time. And even that doesn’t really work. It makes shopping with them frustrating and nearly impossible. For the amount of work you need to put in to find anything, they should be paying you. In fact, I haven’t shopped with them, since. I did email their customer service directly a couple of months after the update to address these concerns, because I really did enjoy the clothes and missed shopping with them. The response was along the lines of “we updated our app to make it more accessible for everyone and we’re sorry that you miss those features. We hope you get used to our new way of doing things!” Umm… news for you guys- your update makes it equally difficult for everyone to buy your clothing. Perhaps that’s what they want? I notice that their public responses to these poor reviews are much more conciliatory than their private response to me… And That should tell you how they actually feel about their customers.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. I'm very sorry for any shopping inconvenience. There have been some hiccups since our recent site and system update, and we're still working on getting some of those sorted out. Please rest assured that we take your feedback 100% to heart and will be sure to share it with the appropriate teams.

### 1/5 — Criminally poor customer support

*2021-09-07, version 10.4.0*

The app seemed okay until I needed actual help. And since I have no other way of contacting the company and getting my money back, I’m left with no alternative but to attempt to get help by leaving a poor review here. I have been trying to reach ModCloth via phone and email and chat for well over a week to ask a question about a return. And now I’m outside of the return window. And I still can’t reach them. The chat function on the app simply does not work. Not at all. Besides that, no one answers the phone, there’s no way to leave voicemail for returns, a voicemail left for a stylist was never returned, and email is not being returned. What options do I have left? Don’t download this app. Don’t buy from this company. If you do, and want to return something you purchased, their criminally poor lack of customer service will cause you to lose your hard earned money. I get it. Everyone is understaffed right now. So you better extend your return window by months if that’s how long it will take to reach someone in customer service.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. I'm very sorry for any frustration with getting in touch with our Customer Care team. They are a small group, and they are currently working through extremely high volumes of incoming calls, chats, and emails. Please rest assured that they are working hard to get replies to everyone, as quickly as possible. There may be a wait via phone or chat, but they will respond to all incoming calls and chats, as soon as they are able. They are available via both from 9am-8pm ET, Monday-Friday. If you're unable to access the chat via the app, I would recommend switching to a desktop browser - that should hopefully resolve the issue. In the meantime, I will report to the appropriate teams that you are unable to access the chat feature via the app. Please also rest assured that we will not leave you without your return being resolved - our team will be glad to assist, just as quickly as they are able.

### 1/5 — ModCloth deleted my profile I’ve had for years!

*2021-09-06, version 10.4.0*

So I’ve had this app for a LONG time and I’ve shopped on ModCloth before. So today I tried to sign into my account only to find that everything had been completely erased. And that I no longer was in their system. All the items I had saved for future purposes are now gone and I have to start all over again. My account had been completely deleted without my consent or knowledge. As I’m sure that happened to everyone.

Not to mention the app is really poorly done. Whoever took over the “new and improved” website and app needs to get it together. Whoever ran it before made it so much easier to search for things.

### 1/5 — Items do not load...basically a browser

*2021-07-30, version 10.4.0*

I have been having trouble on my mobile phone accessing their site recently. Items do not load on the page at all - it’s just blank. No issue with any other site, only Modcloth. Same issue in Safari or Chrome. So I redownloaded this app thinking I would just use that, certainly the app would work, but it’s the same issue! No items loading. It also was exactly the same as viewing their homepage through the Safari browser. Not even any buttons or menus in the app - what happened? I used to have the app a year or so ago and it was great. Why would you make something worse that was already fine?

### 1/5 — Deleting this app

*2021-07-17, version 10.4.0*

I know a lot of people are complaining about the re-design of the app and I completely agree with them. I’ve invested thousands of dollars into ModCloth over the years and a good portion of my wardrobe is from them. Obviously the loss of the love list, wishlist, and the entire lack of usability of the app are just a few of the reasons why I’ve decided to delete the app, but it’s also the apparent change in products being sold. I used to love the variety of unique styles being sold from various retailers, but for a long time now, all I see are products from Princess Highway, which I don’t particularly care for, and ModCloth’s own brand. I’m not sure why this change took place, but between that and the app update, I have literally no reason to shop here anymore. Hopefully, ModCloth will go back to selling interesting products from different retailers the way they used to and come up with a more usable online experience, but until then, I’m sorry to say they’ve lost a very loyal customer.

**Developer response:** Hey there! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience! We did have a hiccup with the images on the app recently. The app has now been updated, and that issue should be resolved! If you update to the newest version, which was just released, you should see the images loading successfully.

### 1/5 — Updated: Reducing to 1 Star, Zero Would Be Better

*2021-06-12, version 10.4.0*

Since you relaunched your website things have gotten worse and worse. Love list is gone, so I can’t go back to order things I casually browse and save for later. Had to create a brand new account. Fine. But I placed an order on a sale day, and when I came back to see why I hadn’t received my order yet, THERE WAS NO ORDER. Also, all my profile info I saved to my account was wiped out. Icing on the cake: I emailed customer service about my lost order (and detailed how buried “My Account” now is at the bottom of your endless homepage, rather than in the header of the app or hamburger menu where people usually find things) and all I got was a lousy canned response with non-helpful answers to FAQ. No personal response. You used to be my favorite store, and now I am contemplating wiping the app off my phone.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience! Our team is aware of this issue, and they are currently working on a fix. We hope to have this resolved in the next update of the app. In the meantime, you can access the Love List on the site, via a mobile or web browser.

### 1/5 — Change it back

*2021-05-01, version 10.4.0*

Why did y'all change the app to make it exactly the same as your mobile website? That defeats the entire point of having an app. I'm just not going to use it, I'll have to get on my laptop and use the actual website. The mobile site and now app are unusable. There are no more size charts, how are you going to have UK and US sizes with no size chart? I don't know whose decision this change was, but you need to undo it. The mobile website and app look like something out of the early 2000s, just with less neon coloring. Change it back and fix the mobile site.

### 1/5 — A Tale of Two Apps

*2020-10-24, version 10.2.0*

Fun fact: If you sort reviews by Most Favorable, every 5-star review praising the app is at least three years old. But if you sort by Most Recent, you get 1-star reviews going back at least a full year. And every single 1-star review has a hilariously generic Developer Response containing bland platitudes and a weak apology.

I’m about to graduate with my MBA in May, and I can tell you that it’s SHOCKING to see a response this poor to a major crisis like customers being unable to check out on the app for this long. The profit loss from this one simple issue must be insane. It certainly shouldn’t take a full year to fix! Developers, fire yourselves for the good of the company.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — So improved!

*2019-11-26, version 10.0.1*

I’ve had the ModCloth app for many months now. For the vast majority of that time the app was honestly annoying to use: it was very glitchy, it would crash all the time, and it wouldn’t display things I wanted to look at. Most of the time i just wouldn’t even bother to look at it because i knew something would get messed up and it would be frustrating. The overhaul they just did to the app is amazing! The experience is completely new, and so improved - the app works flawlessly and is very user friendly now. I’m glad I can go back to actually using it.

### 5/5 — Love the feedback, helps when purchasing

*2019-06-23, version 9.0.44*

The most important thing I look for when buying online is customer feedback, that way you know what do buy. I’ve been shopping at ModCloth for almost 10 years and I am a fan of their service. The chat helps a lot and it shows that they care. The clothing selection is great and very unique. Although some products are made with cheap material, it is no different than other stores, so you cannot judge them for that. Overall I am happy with my experience with ModCloth. 5 stars from me.

### 5/5 — Love this store so much

*2019-05-28, version 9.0.43*

Everything that I have bought from there so far has been really great. They have all kinds of dresses for all types of occasions. For me personally, I love the fun quirky dresses they have! Everything has been fitting, the lengths are good for me on basic tops, their shoes are good quality, and I am in love with just about everything I’ve gotten there. Prices can be high, so it’s definitely better to wait until they hold sales on whatever items you’re looking for(because it will happen)

ModCloth hasn’t disappointed me yet!

### 5/5 — Cute clothes, good experience!

*2019-04-29, version 9.0.43*

I have mixed experiences with ModCloth, just like any online shopping - some things are too short, too long, or fit funny - but some pieces have been absolute gems and become staples in my closet! I love the rating system and other people offering their own measurements and pictures in the clothes so you can decide if a piece is going to work for your body. I wish it was less expensive, but it is what it is! For the record, all my orders have shipped promptly and arrived exactly as described and undamaged.

### 4/5 — Satisfied

*2019-07-17, version 9.0.44*

Cute clothes! Happy with their selection as always. Their return/exchange policy is really helpful when I have needed to go up or down a size. Only issue I have is with their TIME on exchanges. When purchasing clothes, it take 5 to 7 days- tops. But exchanges... big yikes. It took about 3 to 4 weeks to get my exchanged dress. I had spoken to a customer service representative and simply told that they were backed up on return orders. Understandable and thankfully I didn’t mind the wait- but still, that’s my only con from other than what is an amazing site. 😊

### 4/5 — Love ModCloth

*2018-12-09, version 9.0.34*

I love ModCloth - the first time I ordered from them I was nervous because their clothes are so ~trendy~, I expected them to be low quality, but they aren’t at all! Super comfy and flattering.

The app is great, but one thing to note - I usually like to fill my cart with things I like when I shop online, then go back and narrow things down (to me it’s like how I’d grab a ton of clothes in the store, then try them on to narrow down my choices). The app maxes out at 50 items in your cart, but it’s not always clear that it’s stopped accepting items you try to add, so not everything you wanted will be there. It’s also a little glitchy at times, where I have to “favorite” something a couple times before it sticks. I have the same issues on the website too, though. I still shop here a lot :)

### 3/5 — ‘Scuse Me, What?

*2022-04-06, version 10.4.0*

I’m no stranger to ModCloth, but it’s been a while since I’ve shopped with them. I opened their app today for the first time in a long time, and heard this chime a few seconds later. I thought it was my email, but then it dawned on me that my phone was on silent, so I shouldn’t have been hearing alerts. I checked everything and realized the sound was coming from the app! ‘Scuse me, what?? This is so obnoxious and aggravating that I have no idea how something like this was green lit. I don’t need this app “chiming” every time I move around in it. And the worst part is, I turned off all notifications for this app, and I’m still hearing the chime. Like, bro…stop! Uninstalled!

### 3/5 — So much could be better

*2020-05-09, version 10.0.4*

I’ve had the app for years, hoping it would get better and I never seems to. First issue, is the inability to zoom in and out of pictures. This is extremely important when buying clothing and the 6 other clothing apps I have all can do it. Not sure why you’re not. The app will not keep my logged on. It’s my app! If I don’t want to logged in I’d log out! It’s ridiculous. The app is also slow to respond which I was hoping might have gotten better with the last update, but hasn’t. The app is supposed to more convenient not less. I hope that since this company was bought out a few years ago by big money you can improve the usability for customers. It’s not all about getting more methods of payments.

**Developer response:** Hi, there. Thank you for your honest feedback. I'm very sorry for any shopping inconvenience. I will be sure to share your words with the appropriate teams, so that they can further investigate. In terms of ownership, we actually came under new ownership in February 2020, with Go Global Retail. I apologize, again, for any disappointment. We appreciate your feedback.

### 3/5 — Ethical to shop at ModCloth?

*2019-10-19, version 10.0.0*

I’m glad you guys finally updated the app and fixed the loves feature. It annoys me that the new arrivals don’t appear in order of newness, though.

However, I’m having a dilemma since some of the company’s practices since their buy out have come to light. I’m deeply disappointed to hear of the mistreatment of long time employees of what started as a small company. I’m not sure if it’s ethical to continue shopping at ModCloth when they mistreat their employees who made the site and store what it is. As a company you've completely lost sight of who you are and who your customers are. This is sad to see as I put a pause on purchasing from a company I’ve been buying from for about a decade.

### 3/5 — Problems with the app

*2019-09-06, version 9.0.46*

I love the products and I was a regular shopper, but lately I’ve been having problems with the app. I can no longer favorite items. I keep getting the “your Love was lost” error. I’ve deleted the app and downloaded it again, restarted my phone and still I have the same problem. I like keeping items in my favorites so I go back and purchase from there, but without this feature it’s annoying to have to go through items looking for the one thing I was looking for. It makes me not want to shop at all. Please fix!
