AMA needs to DROP this developer and move on as it’s a huge black-eye for a great organization. Unable to keep more than 3 magazines in the app. Takes 20mns to download a magazine on a 10meg/sec connection. When downloading you must scroll through all pages to force download. Contacted AMA for resolution who put me in touch with GTExcell the contractor. Gtexcel had me delete and reload the app with no resolution. GT said they would investigate with no further contact from GT. Contacted GT numerous times via email with zero response from Gt. A better solution is to download the magazine on your computer from the Model Aviation website and convert to ePub format with Calibre then load to iPad via iBooks. GTExcel is a poor vendor at best and does not deserve your support. Don M AMA 1741 ### 1/5 — Horrible App *2017-08-12, version 40* I agree with GeoStork, this horrible app continually fails to download the entire magazine leaving me with a worthless magazine I can't read offline. Just use a DRM version of pdf with my iTunes account for crying out loud! Big fan of AMA, and a member. One problem with magazine, I paid for a years subscription back in September 2012. It's now October, and I haven't been able to read any issue. Is there a time period when I start getting it? Or is something wrong? Contacted the people running the app and received a reply that soon I would see something new and exciting. I can hardly contain myself waiting. All I want to do is read the freaking magazine. I hope Model Aviation (AMA) got this application donated. I am an AMA member and asked for the printed copy of the magazine, never got it for the last 2 years! I'm unable to load anything on this app and don't get the printed copy. So what am I paying $85 a year for? Apparently nothing. I know money's tight, how much would it cost to do the app up right? This app is the worst I have encountered, it’s virtually impossible to use. Downloads take forever and then fail. Issues that were downloaded then suddenly disappear. Davis ### 4/5 — Already subscribe *2012-10-01, version 1.0* If you already subscribe you shouldn't have to pay twice ### 4/5 — Good Digital Version *2012-09-13, version 1.0* This magazine has done a pretty good job of transferring over to digital form. It has some enhancements over the print version such as video which is great. I hope to see this digital version improve over time. The text could be a bit sharper for Retina devices and hopefully that will be a future enhancement. I don't mind paying for the digital version as it does help support the AMA's goals by supporting this new format that will be standard for many magazines in the future. Also, it is not 100% the same as the print version since they have added enhancements as noted above. One thing people fail to mention when complaining is this digital version is completely devoid of advertisements. It contains nothing more than content related to model airplanes and the AMA. This is probably why the AMA says it would actually be more expensive to simply allow people to switch from print to digital with no price increase. Those ads that choke the print version subsidize the cost of the magazine. My hope is that by supporting this format now a free (or much cheaper) version of the digital magazine could become and option in the future. ### 3/5 — Zoom *2015-11-20, version 28* I like the digital version but when trying to zoom on pages/ads it will not stay zoomed in.
