There are two problems with this game. Firstly, the combat system is broken. There are two select assault rifles that can instantly kill you. I do not own these rifles because of the next problem. The currency is way too hard to obtain in multiplayer. If they were to make their combat system more like MC5, then I wouldn't have a problem because gameplay-wise, MC5 is significantly better than MC4. It's engaging with no overpowered weapons at all. Every map in MC5 is consistently easy to navigate. Please, Gameloft, fix this game. ### 5/5 — Best Game on the Market! *2016-07-15, version 1.2.1* All I have to say is WOW! Great job on the game Gameloft! I do however have some suggestions. First, I will start off by saying that we need to be able to have 10 class setup slots. This will add an even greater strategy element into the game. Next, I feel that the cost of ALL guns should be increased drastically. I love how we can keep the weapons even when we prestige though! Also, there needs to be an option to remove friends from your friends list. People kept spamming me to ask to add them to my friend list. I finally accepted, thinking I could delete them right after and they wouldn't notice. But there is no option to remove friends! Also, I feel that the game is needing more maps. Some map packs would do the trick! This is a win-win, because you could charge money for the packs, while we get blessed with new awesome maps! We should also get some weapon packs. Not too many, but just enough to keep the game appealing. Don't go overboard though, Gameloft! We may want more guns, but we don't want them OP! The game modes Destruction and Bomb Squad also need to be added to ranked matches. Lastly, I would like to close off with saying that this game has incredible graphics. Much better even than COD Ghosts on the Xbox One! If you are looking to buy this game, make the right choice and GET IT! Like many others I think it's much better than any other game in the modern combat series.. Even a lot better than MC5. But this game has crashing issues and not just for me. I've read many other reviews and many of em have the same problem. For me I can't play a ranked game on multiplayer. It always crashes for me no matter what I do... And believe me I've done everything. Please game loft... Just fix this game. Clean it up please!!! ### 4/5 — DOES GAMELOFT EVEN PAY ATTENTION？ *2016-05-26, version 1.2.1* I purchased this game when it first came out，it is an epic game with stunning effect and no need for internet to experience the single player. Until the last update they ruined everything. High pitch noise（so does MC3），frequent crash（unacceptable） and due to crash we can't use RPG or missiles to shoot human enemies in game. I have tried ALL methods to contact Gameloft support and report the problem we encountered，all I get is “we're currently working on these issues.” You have time to produce silly games like sniper fury and have no time to fix bugs？？Your attitude is so horrible！I really miss the honest and hardworking Gameloft when MC1 and MC2 came out ### 5/5 — Mind-blowing experience.!. *2016-03-22, version 1.2.1* Wow tbh, this the best Modern Combat game & now my top favorite shooting-acting game in the App Store no question about it, I can't describe how kool & awesome the game is. Except the control are pretty small to touch my fingers, yep that's no problem doe. But one thing is fosure, it's definitely worth every-single penny. You could literally tell a lot of hard work went into this Modern Combat💯😯😧🎮💸👌🏻👍🏻 ### 4/5 — Great game, better than its successor *2016-01-12, version 1.2.1* I have roughly 160 hours logged in this game. I like it a lot. The graphics are a little simplistic at times, but the gameplay is really fun. Campaign style (playing both sides of the story) was highly enjoyable and the multiplayer has a high replay value. Overall, while it's missing some of the features in the later game (Modern Combat 5), this game is a lot more fun and just generally better made. My only complaint is that there are still a lot of hackers online and it's hard to tell if GameLoft is actually doing much about them. Still, it's not enough to significantly detract from the experience (unlike N.O.V.A. 3, where an actual majority of the games will have a hacker or two) and I'd still recommend it. ### 4/5 — Fun&Competative *2015-12-07, version 1.2.1* So far, I like it. Graphics are relatively good, and it runs well on my device. I took a star off because when you first start out in multiplayer, 90% of your opponents use the Compakt and unless you bought credits, you're stuck with the Socar. Which, btw, is a good gun, but it can't compete with the Compakt. I have been spot-on with my aim when using the Socar, and the guy turns around and kills me. Not cool. However, compared to Mc5 (the awful IAP and Noobtube game), Mc4 is where it's at. ### 5/5 — Crashes on iPhone 6 *2015-12-05, version 1.2.1* I love this game I played it since it came out but left it long time. Now I installed it on iPhone 6 it crashes every time I'm online. Got to do something about it. Still give it 5 stars cause this game it's just awesome. Didn't like the 5 I also bought it since the first hour it came out on AppStore... I hope you make another one based on the MC4. ### 5/5 — True masterpiece *2015-10-10, version 1.2.1* I've played through all of this game (more than once so I can buy all the attachments and upgrades) as well as the third one. I'm currently playing through the fourth and I can safely say this is one of the most fantastic games I've ever played on a mobile device. It's smooth, responsive, engaging, and while the voice acting in some parts is lacking it's generally a fantastic game. I know you can change how big you want the buttons to be but it is just to small when you start off the game. So yeah, this is a great game. ### 3/5 — My honest review of this game *2015-07-23, version 1.2.1* I finished the campaign and it was brilliant because of the gameplay and most of all, the graphics. Multiplayer was not good. While I'm on a match I am constantly being killed by the same number of players. It only takes a few shots to kill an enemy and it is so over powered compared to MC5. I am very skilled on multiplayer in MC5 not to brag and I believe it's not my problem. I can play single player just fine but online is GG. every time i get in a game and there's more then 2 people on my screen it crashes. the game will be almost over and i thought it's working again.. but guess what it crashes. unlike MC3 which is impossible to log into on multiplayer because of the connection lost error. I feel like game loft gave up on their old games which is sad because MC4 is way better then MC5 it's like Call of duty: Modern warfare 2.. simply timeless. all this new futuristic stuff is garbage. which is why i went back to MC4. It wouldn't be that difficult for you to adapt every MC game for the latest operating systems. You could even re sell all the old games in a pack for the new operating systems (MC 1-4) and I know people would buy them because MC 1 was cool, MC 2 was amazing, MC3 was not that good, MC4 was the best FPS ever released on handheld platforms and MC5 is a bit overkill with some features but still a good game. please read this review. Or simply just updating MC4 so I can play it on iOS10. thank you. ### 1/5 — Im sorry i paid $ for this app, how can I hack the hackers? *2016-08-02, version 1.2.1* I regret having bought this app. Hackers are not stopped from making everybody loose the games, even as a pro at this game. Others aim elsewhere and I am dead. The game starts me off at the end only to loose games. When I get shot at by an opponent, I die and re spawn twice as it is their hack but no one seems to know how to fix this problem. I am sorry I had to give it one star. This is the best game for hackers who have taken control of all the games, except mornings. The new update quits on you when you are winning. On a MC4, Hackers either have taken over, or HQ is on it to make me loose. Every time I am winning for more than two kills the game app always quits on me. When I am loosing a game is because the game starts at either 49 kills and is ab t to end, or time is almost to the end so it records my loss. By far the worst game I ever put time on to play. HQ should be ashamed to have done this. this is not a coincidence. Respond to is comment if you can prove me wrong. BMR ### 2/5 — Great game but one major issue *2016-03-06, version 1.2.1* I thought the graphics are great in the graphics were wonderful but it freezes and keeps crashing you guys need to make it I was nine compatible and I'm going to be quite frank a lot of these older games or not I was compatible I'm running to a lot of these games that I've bought over the years I played this when it was I was a compatible no crashes so I went to go download again because I haven't played in a very long time and it crashes now this game needs to be updated for iOS 9 compatibility ### 2/5 — Please fix the crash. *2015-10-04, version 1.2.1* Okay. I have been able to play through missions 1-3 and I loved them. They were challenging, good looking, and intense. I move onto level 4 and boom, every time when I get to the part where you have to place the C4 it crashes. I have tried rebooting my whole iPad, shutting off the game and restarting, being on wifi and not being on wifi, even restarting the whole game, which just shows how good the first 3 missions are, and still nothing works. Please fix this so I can play through the rest of the game. The multiplayer is glitchy but I would rather you fix the crashes then the multiplayer because game loft has a lot of really good multiplayer shooters so they don't need this one to be great. Please fix. It is a really big game, and so is its price tag, so if it does not get fixed it is and was a waste of space and money. I love game loft a lot so I ask that they fix this as soon as they can. Thanks. ### 2/5 — DEVELOPERS MUST READ!!!!! *2015-03-06, version 1.2.1* I love this game. The gameplay is incredible. The story is great. The music is awesome. But the dialogue is, shall we say, a little DIRTY. I am not being childish. There are WAY to many F-words. And I don't mean "freaking". That barely qualifies as a swear word. I mean the OTHER F-word. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE add some sort of filter. I'm not asking for much, just like a setting you can turn on in options that bleeps out the cuss words. I love this game but I may have to stop playing because of all of the F-words. Please add what I requested and I will give this game the 5-star rating it deserves. ### 3/5 — There just one thing *2017-01-26, version 1.2.1* The game is great, it has a lot of realistic features like the recoil and detail, the graphics are amazing, I like much more then mc5 but the one thing that this game needs development on is the common game crash usually when achieving a kill streak, It would be awesome if the developers would give this game one more chance and I'd love if the make an auto run feature and for the single player to save as well, this game is great just it's forgotten. ### 3/5 — Hacking *2016-06-15, version 1.2.1* Single player campaign is great love the story lines in this series but game loft you do realize people hack on multiplayer can't get a single kill people knife me from 50 ft away how is that possible when there are no throwing knives in the game snipers take me out and they aren't even aiming at me which is called aim bot this is not fair to other players please keep track of who is who and who is hacking and ban them please I'll stick to single player as I cannot play with other people who hack please fix your mistakes ### 3/5 — iOS 9 crash bug *2015-11-10, version 1.2.1* Add modern combat 5 visuals to this and this would have been a better mc5 than the free to play, always online excuse Mc5 is. I still prefer to play this so please update and fix the occasional crashes this game experiences on iOS 9. This is a really good console like experience and I'd love if your next iteration follows this formula and not the freemium trend mobile gaming has now adopted. If it's good we'll pay for it. As a fan I appreciated this game and all the previous versions of MC. Looking forward to MC6 and nova 4 😌 ### 3/5 — Could be better *2015-08-11, version 1.2.1* I have played all the modern combat games since Sandstorm, and I love playing them (especially MC3 and MC4). The problem is that the game crashes way too many times ever since iOS 8 came out. If you're about to do the last flag in a CTF Game, it crashes. If you fall from a great height, it crashes. Sometimes when there's a nearby explosion, the game crashes. Please fix this crashing problem in the next update Gameloft. Oh, and could you also add a team balancing feature? Growing up on the mobile platform due to never having a console when I was younger I played countless mobile games ranging from pvp, fps, mmo, rpg, etc. And this game right here? This is monumental for me. The things I'd do to be able to go back and play it through one last time. This is just my opinion and I'll tell you why I think this. It has a amazing campaign with tons of action and gameplay, a great and well put together storyline that you can play anywhere you go considering it's offline, and a amazing multiplayer experience. The graphics are amazing considering it's a mobile fps. It feels like a actual fps that could run on a console such as an Xbox 360 or a PS3. Overall it's totally worth the $7 dollars (including tax) to buy this game. Hands down. Huge maps, and totally appreciate the map update previously. Challenging team matches with a huge variety of weapons, explosives and special skills. (I HATE games that limit how far you can go before requiring in app $$) Occasionally laggy but no more than any HALO I've played.
