### 3/5 — Schedule mode has a bug

*2026-08-22*

The schedule mode is great for turning on my fireplace at a set time of day.  The issue is, when I have it set to turn OFF, it turns off the fireplace display but turns ON the circulation fan, despite me not having that on to begin with.  Every morning I wake up I see the fan has been on all night.  I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix it.  It’s a bug in either the app or the fireplace.  I’m betting the app.  Please investigate and fix!!  Thank you!

**Developer response:** Hello you can share the device with multiple users. Simply open the app > select the device > on the top right you should see an icon that looks like a pencil with a line below it. Select that > this will open a sub menu where you can share the device from amongst other things.

### 3/5 — Orion Fireplace schedule doesn’t work

Fireplace app is very nice to have. I find it easier to use than the remote. I was excited to see a schedule option so I could have it automatically turn on during the times that I use it. However, this feature does not work. It never saves and definitely never works. I don’t care how many times you set the schedule and hit save, nothing is in the menu. I would feel better if they just took that out so I didn’t get excited when I saw it and tried it again. Please update!

This app needs to have the ability to add users. Since you can’t only one person in our house can control the fireplace since the remote is 1-star worthy also.

Purchased an Orion series fireplace, at best the app is 2/5, turns on the flames but does not work consistently for heat, most times have to do manually on fireplace. If to do it again I wouldn’t be using this app.

The app used to work. Now, most of the functions do not work at all. The On/Off button does not change to “On” even though the fireplace comes on. None of the Heater functions work at all.

Called the company. Left a voicemail as they don’t answer. Been almost a year. Shameful. I shouldn’t have to reset the entire unit in order for the app to allow me to turn on and off the Heater in the fireplace.

### 3/5 — Excellent app but truly inconsistent: here is the story

*2024-09-06, version 1.0.8*

I bought a $6000 fireplace from modern flames and after exchanging its remote twice (not working at all!) a local seasoned technician was sent by the manufacturer to dismantle it and reach its control box which is seated deep inside (which they first sent me s spare and a video and asked me to do it myself!!!). After 3 hours the technician gave up and left with both remotes to never come back again! I am now left with the App which works very well but intermittently: all controls are functional except adjusting temperature remotely. One has to get up and initiate it on the fireplace screen after which it can be controlled by the app. Do yourself a favor and buy a simpler but more reliable brand the the Orion series of modern flames: a joke.
