This is definitely my favorite find as of recent since I do most of my craft digitally, with the small tech issues fixed it will 100% take off because the demand is there.

Apparently Book of Shadows has been rebranded. Instead of a dark aesthetic in landscape or portrait, I now have this “live, laugh, love” pastel thing that only works in portrait mode. 🙄 No settings that I can find. No way to export my information.

It's just me, Diana, working on this app, and Neumoire is an evolution of my techniques for scientific documentation of magic, not meant to be more commercial but just accessible. I understand the different aesthetic can be jarring so I will take that into consideration too.

I try to write my spells and such and the thing keeps glitching nonstop and I can’t see what I’m typing!

I love the idea of this app, but adding entries gets really annoying and frustrating if you're writing goes past where your keyboard is. 

Instead of keeping the cursor visible as you're typing, it only keeps the very top of the entry visible, so anything written below the keyboard is unseen as you're typing. 

You constantly have to stop typing and click on the entry to see what you've written, and if you end up wanting to edit anything at this point, it's all guess work when backspacing what you've typed!

It would also be great if you could add a title, tags and your own categories, so that you can find and categorise your entries in a way that makes sense to you.

Lastly it would also be great if you could insert pictures to help add visual references or to customise your entries even more!

This is good, but it needs updated.  It also needs to remain on the App Store.  This app is the easiest one I found to use for this purpose. Keep up the good work, and I hope it gets updated, and I also hope it remains on the App Store for ever.

I’m a baby witch starting on their book of shadows, and while I love the aesthetic of this app and the tabs you can use to organize it, there are a couple mechanical issues.

1. The text box doesn’t scroll while typing, and even if you manually scroll, it snaps back to the top of the text box with every character.
2. The display when going into a note doesn’t take up the whole screen, and is in fact very narrow. It only displays a line or two at a time.

Once these are fixed, I will gladly give this app 5 stars!

Love how pretty this is, and it contains most of the things I would want. A passcode would be great but is not a must-have.

Although a version fix says that the text box cutting off has been fixed, it hasn’t. Once you hit the bottom of the screen, you’re typing blind. You can scroll up to see it, but once you tap a key, it’s hidden again. Given the beauty and utility of the app, it’s worth the extra trouble.

I like the background and theme options, as well as the font. The categories seem good as a newbie. Perhaps in the future, all the user to add their own categories. The scrolling at the end of a page gets stuck. 

Just other suggestions for enhancements:
-Ability to print or export (page or whole book)
-Ability to link book across devices (iPhone to iPad)

I enjoy this app to keep all my witchy info in as someone who doesn't want to be open about my practice. The only bad thing is that the screen doesn't scroll with you as you type, which can be pretty annoying. If that was fixed this app would be perfect in my opinion.

This is a great start to a wonderful app. It just needs some improvements to make it a 5 star app. 

Cons: if you are typing anything more than a few lines, you cannot see what you are typing as you type since it is hidden behind the keyboard. The page does not scroll as you type. 
-You cannot add your own background. This may seem like a little thing, but it would be a game changer if we could use our own backgrounds instead of the provided ones.

Pros: nice list of drop downs categories for our entries.
- Even though we cannot add our own backgrounds, there are plenty to pick from and they are of nice quality.
-Easy to search for previous entries.

Really like this idea and it has a lot of potential.
To make it better, I would suggest scrolling down as the user types. Right now it always bumps all the way back to the top, so if you’re writing something very long it keeps taking you back to the top and then you have to keep scrolling down which is kind of irritating at times.
Another thing that would be great for me is if you could actually paste text or images onto a page. I find a lot of information that I like on the Internet that I would rather just copy and paste onto a page and file it in a category rather than typing it all out manually.

I’m a teen baby witch who has been doing this for a couple of months. I’m focusing on the use of pendulums and tarot cards. I’ve wanted a BoS since forever and I felt like this would be a better/easier option instead of writing and having my parents read it. 

This app is just a basic journal, like all you can do is change the color theme and background, as well as pick a subject. 

My suggestions for this app:
-Add more things to it and for the love of us witches, let us scroll while typing!!

As the title says, I used to absolutely adore this app. As that’s where I kept all my stuff on, but it recently logged me out and will not let me log back in no matter what I do.

I don’t know why, but every time I try to enter and save my email, it doesn’t do anything. It’s like the “save” button isn’t live. At this point, all I have is one entry with no backup. Also, there doesn’t seem to be much to this app at all. It would be nicer if there was some kind of structure to it beyond just opening straight into an entry. Or at least it seems like there isn’t much to this app, but maybe if it let me actually sign up, there would be more to it.

There are only a set number of titles to choose from, and you cannot write your own. After a point, you cant even see what you’re writing due to the poor layout. You’re better off just using a regular writing app other than this. Has potential as an app but needs some serious work.

I had a house fire and most of my temple was destroyed. Luckily my  grimoire since 2018 has been with this app developer( first with the earlier version of it it and now Neumoire). For all the people who dis me for not writing it in an actual book, I say I can read this one by candlelight with my poor vision and I still have this one! It takes up less space and doesn’t use trees.

I wish this app worked for me because it is exactly what I was looking for, a place to collect all my thoughts as I have them and compile info across the various books, apps, etc. But it crashes and logs me out constantly, entries don’t save or back up even when logged in, there’s no way for me to save the entry and then close it without me going back (which creates a double entry). I tried to upgrade to the paid version and the page is just stuck in loading. I got a new phone and the old entries didn’t transfer over. It’s a shame because the concept is so good I really wish it worked, I would use it all the time. Also wish you could add more than one photo to an entry.

I’ve since released an update focused on fixing crashes, saving, login stability, and the upgrade flow. If you’re willing, I’d love for you to try the latest version and see if it’s improved.

I truly appreciate you calling out both what wasn’t working and what you hoped it could be — that feedback matters a lot. And the request for multiple photos per entry is a great idea that I’m planning for.

This app exceeded my expectations. Simple to use, nicely customizable, and no fees whatsoever. Would love to see backup features, and nicer typing control on really long posts/messages, but it’s an amazing place to start. Helps me gather my thoughts and write things out before transcribing to my physical Book of Shadows.

I love this app and use it daily as a book of shadows and a book of light. I love being able to have everything anywhere Ingo as well as the ability to add things Ibstudy
 However it is almost time to upgrade my phone and I am concerned about my data transferring. Had anyone done this? If I can’t my review and rating will change.

I needed an app like this for having my info everywhere I go. But something you should consider fixing: when you start typing the view goes to the start of the page and doesn’t let you see what are u typing.

I would use this app if not for that one thing, unfortunately. I loved how you can change the color and background, label the entries, etc. but if you have something to type that is longer than the original box, you can’t see what you’re typing past that point of no return 😢😭 I’ll totally keep up with this app and check back to, hopefully, see this fixed!!
