Game freezes, can’t stay in for than 30 sec. The only way to be competitive is to purchase gold bricks with your own personal money ( to buy boost buildings ). Customer support is non existent, after many emails back & forth, app still freezing. If you can put up with all that, the game is kinda fun, working with team-mates from around the world to achieve a common goal. Bottom line: you won't be competitive with high stats without spending your own hard earned money and with all the other ‘bugs’ this app may not worth the time. So Deca's message is we will pry every last extra gold bar back from players and F the game up so bad next FL you'll forget about comp for WD. Well played Deca. ### 1/5 — Disappointed player *2019-12-02, version 6.10.1* Unless you spend your or your kids college fund you won’t get no where, this game was fun when FUNZIO controlled it but Gree destroyed it and now DECA is continuing with same plan a year later. Game crashes, rewards not being given when goals are met, normal events being made to cost money to finish, cheaters allowed to continue to play their accounts when the companies own policy clearly says “cheating will not be tolerated and all accounts found to cheat will be banned FOREVER” average players won’t get competitive rewards without spending real money for a game that clearly states “free to play”, customer service won’t reply to complaint emails for months then when they do they tell you your issue doesn’t exist or working as intended and closes the report without issue ever being fixed, DECA makes you agree to their policy or your account is blocked, they say monthly live WD events but in reality it’s twice a month because they are pushing events that brings revenue and only if those events work right. This game is a money grab scheme and I feel sorry for anyone who falls into this trap. DECA you need to focus on fixing game and not cater to big spenders by adding new events when you clearly cannot control what events are currently running, if game was fixed correctly then your revenue would increase but since you cannot then it’s forcing players to leave and not return costing you more money in the end.. ### 1/5 — Boring, not fun. *2019-10-04, version 6.10.0* I've been playing for the past several years but deleted the game. The game has become repetitive and intrusive. In the game you can join a faction but it’s the same battles, over and over. Your rewards don’t amount to much and that’s if you get the rewards. You must spend money to complete. There always seems to be issues. Now the game wants to violate your phone and access personal information each update you do. I wouldn’t recommend this game to ANYONE. ### 1/5 — No longer worth it. *2019-09-10, version 6.9.9* Used to be fun but the customer support blows. They’ll happily take your money for in app purchases but if you accidentally spend in-game gold (typically must be purchased with $$) there is no “are you sure” double check. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve requested this be added with nobody listening. They don’t refund you either. Don’t waste your time with this game. Waste of time and money. ### 1/5 — This is a must read !!! *2019-09-10, version 6.9.9* Let’s see where to start. I’ve been playing this game since before teams and watch it grow into a big ole cluster F***. It is full of glitches and crashes and Deca the current owners of it can’t seem to fix it. They have a discord channel to give feed back and if your feed back isn’t to there liking they will ban you or mute you. It’s noway to treat a paying customer when they are spending a couple hundred dollars a weekend. I would like to see them respond to this review but they won’t. They allow people to be screwed over that’s playing legit. They let cheaters continue to play in fear of game coming to a end and are to blind to see paying people are leaving left and right and no new revenue from new people joining this app. I highly recommend stay away from this app. I only play it cause of the people I’ve met over the 7 years of playing. ### 1/5 — New user and data access policy *2019-07-24, version 6.9.9* I’ve played this game for 6 years. Can’t accept the new “user and data access policies”. It’s states specifically, that they can access to your camera, Bluetooth, phone, contacts, usb (and manipulate the data on usb devices) and get every piece of your identity from Facebook, your device, and network. It’s become an “over the top” data miner. There’s no way my team and I are gonna do that. We’re gone. ### 1/5 — Was great. Now it just crashes *2019-07-22, version 6.9.9* I’ve played this for years. Literally. Never paid a penny for anything and just patiently waited rather than paying for upgrades. I was part of a faction that was regularly in the top 25 for several years. I enjoyed it. But the developers really haven’t changed anything since 2015. Same old, same old. Nothing new. But I kept with it even after most of the faction members dropped out in 2018. I ran thru every single level of play and exhausted it all. I still played. Then in April 2019 the developers made some small change to the program and now it just crashes after 30-40 seconds. I have reached out to them for help and have only heard crickets. In short. Not worth the time and certainly not worth any money. ### 1/5 — Not worth the time or money *2018-10-28, version 6.9.6* Not wort the time. The game support is miserable. I’ve put in three requests over the past two months, not so much as let’s see what we can do. Top players are cheating using bots to run their accounts non stop during wars. This is a known issue and nothing is being done about it. Game lags are lengthy still and has continuous drops. Makes playing more than one account very difficult if not impossible. ### 1/5 — You can't give a review without giving at least 1 star *2018-10-05, version 6.9.6* If there was an option for negative stars this app would get it. Been playing since the games inception before there were factions. Hard core player. I thought they would have to pry my cold dead fingers off the gold button but they have "fixed" it so good you can't even get in to play it anymore. They steal gold for you then "compensate" you by allowing you to buy back what you already won in precious events!!! This is theft pure and simple and they have the nerve to apologize for the misunderstanding!! Misunderstanding??? You did not misunderstand taking my money!!!! My character is worthless now and so is this game ### 1/5 — Terrible experience and support *2018-09-25, version 6.9.6* This game was really good and I had played it for years. For the past year, things have gone down hill very fast. Game functions don’t work. Support is non existent, they send you to a support forum where there is no info or help. Then they stop responding to messages. Time for a new game. Lag during connection to server and during in game action (which seems like it requires synch to game servers), resulting in game freeze makes it impossible to play this game. ### 1/5 — Modern war *2018-09-22, version 6.9.6* Just downloaded your update and I don’t know where to start. I have been playing this game since before GREE took it over and in the last several months it has deteriorated exponentially until with this latest update it is almost impossible to play. After reading previous reviews I was reluctant to do the update but was unable to proceed to play at all. I did the download and although I can do some of the functions others freeze up. Attempting to attack and/or raid, after less than a dozen attacks I am totally locked out. Have to exit game and start over. Now it seems to take many additional seconds to load. I have much money invested and have 2 accounts so do not wish to leave the game permanently but I don’t know how long I can endure the frustration. A year ago for no apparent reason I was moved up to an area where almost all of the players are at 300 to 350. Making it almost impossible to move up in the game. I use to love playing this game but now I seldom play. So beware of this game, don’t waste your time trying it move up. ### 1/5 — Modern war *2022-12-29, version 8.0.0* I agree with all the recent bad reviews. This was a fun game years ago but it’s has become boring, repetitive and unfair. Like many early players I invested money only to find it wasted away on unrealistic stats and game play. The developer has found no new options to make this game fun nor to bring those of us who have played for more than 10 years back to regular play. I longer care if o lose in an attack. I only play on occasion and refuse to spend any more money when the developer has no new imagination ### 1/5 — Not what it’s used to be *2022-10-26, version 8.0.0* I remember when the bloodthirsty series was one of strongest during its time. I have been with this app for a few years only to take a long break for my studies. I log back in to see that my account has been deleted, years of the grind, friendship, and all around memories: gone. Everything is too op as well. You start of with a couple of units that has like 32 atk and 20something def but suddenly you gotta pay millions of in game currency just for a single unit. Like if everything wasn’t too expensive and too op, I would just do the grind again but it’s not worth it :( ### 1/5 — Nothing has changed *2022-08-29, version 8.0.0* Put down the game for over 3 years. Out of curiosity starting playing my old accounts again. Nothing has changed; invisible targets that don’t belong in a given map still abound, mission targets that cannot even be clicked on to complete, no Goals for the upper maps and etc. ### 1/5 — Poor *2021-03-21, version 7.6.0* They say that they give you free gold but the gold account doesn’t increase. Sent 3 tickets to them about it and didn’t hear a single thing back. If you where to start this game now, without spending huge amounts of money there is no way you could ever reach the power of most players. ### 1/5 — Good Game Gone Bad *2020-10-18, version 7.4.1* I’ve been playing this thing for over 8 years, albeit with an 18 month break in the middle of it. I still play, but I don’t spend money and I don’t bother sending the company complaints about the glitches, slow play, and problems. They don’t fix it anyway so what’s the point. Back in the early days, it was very exciting and fun, but it has just gone down the tubes. I read some of the other reviews and I was surprised to see that other long-term players were voicing the exact same problems that bother me. And the frustrations about how DECA is following GREE’s footsteps in continuing to screw up the game. One thing I’ve noted recently is how slow it plays on an iPad. I can barely read the screen on my iPhone (old eyes) so I try to play on my iPad so I can actually see the screen, but there is a 10-25 second delay in certain actions that are critical to competing in the game (attacking other players during World Domination contests, for example). My iPhone responds immediately — hit the attack button, the attack takes place, the result pops up, all in a second or two. When I play the exact same accounts on the iPad, the same attack takes 10-25 seconds, and often it simply hangs up and I have to close it and reopen it. Used to be a great game, but that was years back. Run away from this turkey if you are a new player. ### 1/5 — Can’t play without paying *2020-09-15, version 7.4.1* When you start off it seems like it will be a good game but once you go and attack other people, if they paid a min of $10 there is no way you can win. Energy to do missions runs out too fast and takes a long time to recharge and you don’t have enough gold to recharge it instantly so you’ll have to spend money on it! Overall terrible game ### 1/5 — Be cautious *2020-05-30, version 7.2.0* If you plan on buying gold or other things that are required if you want to get anywhere with this game Don’t!!! I’ve put on money and it disappeared and nobody in support knows anything, thank God, I used a visa gift card and not my card also.. you never seem to get the points you earn? This game is poorly run and it’s a shame because when Gree ran it I enjoyed it, now it’s always glitching and failing and now I’m missing money and support wants you to be an investigator to find it, they must see the credit to there account, if not; how do they do taxes???? ### 1/5 — Game went to hell also watch your cc they hit it unauthorized *2020-04-18, version 6.10.3* Good luck getting a refund once deca hits your cc unauthorized , watch your charges. The they will play dumb when you catch them and say sorry for your troubles and you will end up getting referred to Apple for a refund , deca gets to keeps funds , Apple takes it in the shorts , then once you dispute the charges ,Apple blocks your account and you start over , play never spend with these guys ### 1/5 — Rip off *2020-03-31, version 6.10.3* This game used to be great. Funzio was an awesome owner and the game was one of the best. Now, DECA , the new owner caters to cheaters who use illegal “auto-tappers” to cheat and beat everyone. Top 10 teams are loaded with cheaters who score impossible points that can only be done by cheaters. Sad, because the core game is fun. So many bugs now from 3 owners. Funzio was relatively big free. GREE the second owner really messed it up. Current owner, DECA is catering to the cheap even though the rules say they will be banned from the game. Played the game 9 years and about to quit. Had to quit, Gree couldn’t /wouldn’t fix bugs. Recently I was in App Store, got curious, saw Deca was running it, tried it out and it works fine. Lost my prior base and had to start over, but seems to work well now ### 5/5 — Making Progress *2020-06-18, version 7.2.0* I’ve been playing Modern War for over seven years. Through Funzio and Gree and now DECA. Although they’re not perfect DECA is making good solid progress. The app is now more stable and enjoyable to play. The biggest improvement I believe is in their Tech Support department. Previously response was extremely slow unacceptable even. Under DECA tech support is equal to any I’ve done business with. I encourage you to try Modern War you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Keep up the good work DECA.👍 ### 5/5 — Play to win *2020-04-13, version 6.10.3* Im not sure why so many people are upset by this game. I have been playing the game since 2013 for a total of 7 years...wow I’m old. I haven’t had any glitches so far as to complain about the game because every game has their minor glitches. I have never put actual money into this game because if you just play the game over time you will be able to succeed very well. Right now I have atk and def through the roof, all the buildings you can get with money, and im a pretty high level to. Honestly after a few months I got to a pretty good standing. Just making this review because I feel all the bs hate this game is getting isn’t fair and the fact that this is a wonderful game to make time go by. ### 5/5 — I Miss This Game *2020-03-02, version 6.10.2* This game was such a big part of my life for over 10 years. You don't need to spend cash, just be a active player and try to get into a decent faction. You just have to put some time in it. I didn’t put one doller in this game and I’m over 200 Billon in atk and power ### 3/5 — Modern War Feedback *2020-04-18, version 6.10.3* Update: I have played for a little over a week and a half now. It’s kind of difficult to find people to attack as there are several hackers. You can tell which ones are hackers because some don’t have portraits and are just a giant white square on there base view. So my only complaint is I can’t fight a level 13 who has 10 trillion power but there base is empty they have billions of dollars and no builds to be making all that money. So start polishing up the player base and get rid of these hackers. I’ll give it 6.5/10 ### 3/5 — Join an active faction *2019-07-21, version 6.9.9* 8 yr player here experienced in all these complaints. If you start a new account, join an active faction!! You will never catch the gold-slingers at the top; but will quickly accumulate faction rewards that make you competitive and useful to your team. That’s why there are all these awesome old players that rightly troll the quirky features. They like the game, because they like each other so much; as teammates, rivals or both! The sun never sets on our global faction of great peeps and longtime players. We are a top 150 team that generally doesn’t buy any extra gold! ### 3/5 — Original player *2019-01-22, version 6.9.7* Was one of the very first players to log into this game and was leader of the very first faction formed. Originally you had to spend money to compete in war with your faction. Now, you have to spend A LOT of money just to compete at all with your base stats - attack and defense. The game has added different events that eliminates the need to spend a lot of money, if at all. But spending helps and spend you must to stay competitive in some events. The big issue at moment - is the lag time. Logging in and switching from different accounts is so time consuming we are losing players.
