I have found tagging of favourites recipes from the recipe menu does not result in them being available in the food diary favourites section. As a workaround I select a recipe, adding it to a specific food diary day then I go to the food diary and nominate it as a favourite. The final step is to remove it from the daily food diary as an entry.
