I am using it as a way to help me understand rhythm and it keeps my listening skills in shape! I think it’s cool it also gives you the versatility of making your own recordings, especially with all those filters. ### 5/5 — Sound blew me away! *2014-09-19* This app has the best sound I've ever heard on a guitar synth! Try whipping this thing around and playing it through a good sound system, pretty startling! The strumming charts are pretty awesome, especially on an iPad. I find that I can finger pick pretty well. I decided not to apply for the refund because, well, someday you’ll make this usable, right? And it’s cheap. All those settings and this is virtually worthless. If you’re going to leave this as is, you should consider detaching the wonderful GeoShred from it’s mentioned association. Seemed like a great thing from watching the trailer for it but I couldn't seem to get it do what was shown in the video. App deleted. ### 2/5 — Not at all what I was expecting or hoping for. *2019-12-07, version 1.8* I’ve been looking for something that can replace the guitar touch instrument in garage band, I use Auria and Apple made it a huge pain to export anything recorded in garage band to anything other than logic, but I haven’t been able to find anything on iOS that sounds better or even close to as good as garage bands virtual guitar so after reading the reviews for this app I had hoped that maybe finally something was out that could compete with GB... this is not that. I have GeoShred and while I like the way the app handles as a controller I think it sounds pretty bad as far as realism goes, so I don’t know what I was really expecting out of this but there’s really nothing I like about it if I’m being honest. It sounds super artificial, but even if it sounded great I have yet to find any midi settings so controlling it with anything else doesn’t seem to be an option... all around I regret to purchase. It was only a few dollars but considering it doubtful the app will ever be opened again it’s a few dollars I wish I could have back. ### 2/5 — Maybe Someday *2014-09-11, version 1.6* Some say it has nice sounds but they're nothing to shake a stick at. The user interface is downright awful on an iPad. There is no helpful help to be found either. Knowing what I know now I would not buy this again. ### 3/5 — Great sounding app, just needs that little bit more *2014-11-03, version 1.6* This app sounds fantastic, its easy to play, i can think of 2 improvements which would make it 5 stars. 1. I would love this app to be audiobus compatible for use with other effects and DAW's 2. I would find it more usable if the mute and harmonic buttons were momentary, or have the option to change to this in the settings, so that it only plays the mute/harmonic when your finger is on the button, then reverts to an ordinary strike when released. It would add so much more expression to the sound Otherwise, this app is incredible! ### 4/5 — Where is the store? *2020-09-23, version 1.8* I would give it five stars buy i cant find the store they are talking about ### 4/5 — One step away from greatness *2017-01-12, version 1.7* All apps I buy have to meet the criteria of doing something that no other app I already own can do. MoForte Guitar achieves this, with its methods of play. Lovely sounds, great to have IAA, and for me that vital AudioBus support. To make it a 5 star app, the developers should include Retina class graphics, to properly take advantage of today's quality. At present the graphics look like yesterday. Nic ### 4/5 — Great Tones *2016-01-22, version 1.7* I really love the sound of this app! The tones are very good and I like some of the guitar-like sensibility built into the sounds such as palm muting, harmonics, feedback, and pick-up selection. I'm rating this four stars for these reasons. As a guitarist the tones speak for themselves. However as a guitarist, the lack of MIDI implementation hinders me. I use a guitar-like MIDI controller to play synths and other MIDI instruments. I would pay for the following features: MIDI implementation over all parameters, the addition of middle single coil pick-up and the "in between" single coil sounds. No one produces a modeled guitar application like this one. Keep up the good work! ### 4/5 — Feedback and distortion very unique for an guitar app! *2014-10-06, version 1.6* I coudn't believe the feedback effect this app has. I mean the distorted guitar in GarageBand is pretty cool, but this thing is way beyond anything I've heard. Very cool video tutorials, I feel like I could get in there in make some pretty decent charts for my own songs. I'd like to see a way to print the chart as a standard lead sheet so I could give to other musicians I'm playing with. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Man oh man, they brought back the classic moForte guitar *2025-04-23* I love this app! It was one of the first guitar strumming apps in the App Store, 12 years ago, that actually modeled a real guitar, including strumming and some kind of AI based strumming. Glad they brought it back! ### 5/5 — Absolutely Incredible! *2022-06-24, version 1.8* This is by far the best app for disabled guitar players on the App Store! This is a killer app. the sequencer allows you to construct songs that you can embellish while recording its output with Audiobus or IAA. This is a great companion to Geoshed. You monitor the chords selected when you build your charts. The results surpass anything available on IOS or anything but a physical guitar. However, I wish I could record and export a wav file. The acoustics sound just like a real guitar, with one key exception; you can play moForte as if you had a dozen fingers. The gesture controls, feedback and distortion are super realistic.
