So frustrating ### 4/5 — I love it! *2023-05-12, version 3.8.4* I’ve been looking for an app to share pics and videos with family without having to have actual social media. With this app I can chose who sees pics of my kiddos and I’m able to message them directly on the as well (like a DM). I do wish it was a bit more like Instagram or Facebook where you can @ someone to reply to their comment or where you could tap on a pic and see who’s tagged. There’s also no widget option available and I think that would be an amazing feature to add! But seriously for a free app this helps me organize my pics and videos and it’s so nice to be able to have all the pics in one spot. ### 2/5 — Good idea but not quite there *2021-12-07, version 3.2.0* I love the idea of this app, but the last update didn’t really work for me, preferred how it was before when you could comment on a picture. Also will not upload videos anymore and really struggles to upload my pictures now too. Gets frustrating ### 2/5 — Bring back comments! *2021-09-07, version 3.0.0* Used to love this app to stay in touch with family in lockdown but the addition of the “home chat” function ruined what was great about the app which is people being able to comment on individual photos. The chat function makes it hard for anyone to comment on the photos you have to just comment on a whole up load. We have heaps of other avenues to “chat” - this app was great for being a virtual photo album- now it’s a disaster. ### 2/5 — Love Hate Relationship *2021-08-29, version 3.0.0* I love Momatu and hate it all at the same time. Concept is fantastic and my family have engaged with it so thumbs up there. But the technology has lots of issues that my family are now disengaging with it. First of all the videos and pictures take a long time to upload, notifications doesn’t work consistently so people do not know when you’ve posted something even if their notifications settings are switched to ‘on’. Now my family are missing key moments of my sons life. My main bug bare is sometimes the app just doesn’t work my child’s aunt stopped using the app due to frustration of the app not working. Very sketchy. Before you get your whole family onto Momatu and upload pictures and videos remember the user experience is very poor maybe go with another provider. I’m now frantically looking for somewhere else to host all of these amazing memories and move away from what is the most frustrating and poorly functioning app that I’ve ever come across. Like I said it’s a love hate relationship. ### 2/5 — Overhaul update results in lost content *2021-08-20, version 3.0.0* Hi team, The recently released mandatory update changes a lot - I’m sure we’ll come to love some of the new features. However it appears to have wiped all prior journals - we had used journals to capture and share our bub’s key milestones. My main concern with sharing pictures online is privacy and control over those pictures. A wonderful and private way for families and friends to share moments without being exposed on social media platforms. Good controls regarding privacy. The company should extend itself, IMO; push the app further. It could be so much more. Keep building on it. Suggest individual customisation of interface, control panel that limits particular pics or comment options for invited parties, a family tree / relationship option and possibly integrating blockchain technology.
