Video good, not worth the premium over other brands. ### 1/5 — Terrible app, Terrible camera *2024-10-09, version 1.0.4* I had this camera installed for over $700. I got a front, rear, and interior camera. The camera doesn’t constantly record, it misses so much time. It missed two accidents that happened in front of me and it missed someone hitting my car and running. I had it for a few months and ended up going back to the shop that installed it to get a different dash cam. Next is the app, you can only access the footage when you’re inside your car with the car on. It’s so inconvenient and if someone was to steal your camera then you’d have no footage. Then the way the footage is set up is so inconvenient and confusing. It files your footage by minute and in four different categories… WHY? Then when you click on a video, realize it’s not the 60 seconds you want, and you back out of it then it sends you back to the start of all your videos. Who ever designed the app shouldn’t be in the tech industry. The WiFi often disconnects from your phone while you’re looking through footage too. Overall I have nothing good to say about this app or camera. ### 3/5 — Some functionality *2024-09-04* Connecting camera WiFi to phone was clunky. WiFi name of camera should be printed on card issued with camera. User had to figure way too much on own. It’s not recording things when I need it to, especially when my daughter is driving. She’s 16 and doesn’t care to remember to connect WiFi to camera. It should be an automatic connection. I’ve been trying to access my gallery as I need to pull up a driving event but the app crashes everytime even tho everything is up to date. Overall I haven’t had a good experience with this dashcam and app since I got it a few months ago and it’s been a waste of money. -Trying to connect the camera to my phone is a nightmare as the connection takes to long and the camera goes back to recording or my app crashes when it finally connects. -I’ve never been able to access my gallery/videos on the app without it crashing, however I can access it on the camera itself -Picture quality isn’t that great for the price Overall I would recommend getting another brand of dashcam ### 1/5 — Life of Camera *2025-08-02, version 2.1.04* Good, not great, camera. Even though it happened at night, the dash cam caught front and rear angles of the event. The app made it super easy to download the footage and submit to my insurance. The Toyota dealer that installed this into my car mounted it where I cannot get to the as card. I would rather not have the card get filled up with old videos that are no longer needed. Make the text smaller as well as break the line into two. Right now it is very hard to tell or guess what they are. Also please try adding SF Symbols in front to differentiate them. ### 3/5 — App needs improved *2025-06-19, version 2.1.03* The app should add the feature where the videos show a thumbnail rather than force you to download each one to see which one it is. Also, the app requires that you always share your location, even when the app is closed. There is no reason for this but they intrusively force you to download each one this. I hope they fix this and issue an update. Lastly, they tell you that there are firmware updates available when there isn’t. The M8 has a firmware update but the M7 doesn’t.
