I wanted to make other mom friends. I’ve moved and many of my old friends are either too far away or have no desire to have kids. Either way, I’ve had a falling out with most of them. I thought this app would be a good way to get myself out there. However, upon making my first post, I was harassed for being a “newbie”. This is not a good place for advice or comfort. It is a toxic environment and a breeding ground for mom shaming and bullying. Will be deleting the app, I have enough crap to deal with **Developer response:** MartiF23, thank you for your feedback. This app doesn’t deserve ANY STARS!!!! ### 1/5 — deleted from the app for no reason + no way to contact customer service. *2019-08-08* After being recommended to the app by my sister in law I was only on it for 3 weeks before I was randomly deleted. I didn’t break any rules and I barely posted so I’m not sure why I was deleted. I met some very nice moms that I sadly lost contact with when I deleted. I’ve been trying to email people for support but of course no reply which I think is very unprofessional. The app is owned by a Russian company, they pay little mind to the “American” side as it’s not profitable. So it’s full of perverts, and bullies and all around train wrecks. Just this week a man posted selfies in a diaper and binky. 100% do not post pictures of your children on this site. ### 1/5 — Gone down hill. *2019-05-22, version 4.34.1* I’ve been a user for a year now. This app has gone extremely down hill. When I first joined it did what it said. Supported women and took care of trolls and fakes and men. Some women would complain of bullying (and still do) but in reality, the women that do just don’t like to hear the truth. They want to be coddled and told their pregnant (just and example) off of coincidences and call bullying or rude when you don’t tell them what they want to hear. But that’s been here the whole time and is not the issue with the app now. The issue now is that they’ve stopped paying for the Western end (it’s a Russian app) to be monitored, it’s gone to hell. One day we woke up and there were a TON more Mods. Still only one active Administrator though. Then just a few weeks later we wake up and almost all the Mods has been removed (including the Administrator by her own choice) and it was a free for all. This is when US stopped being monitored and the auto ban kicked on. 3 weeks ago someone went around and complained on active and helpful profiles. These women were a lot of the ones that would tell it like it is. They wouldn’t coddle. They’d provide accurate and scientific based information and provide sources if requested. Some of the best women on the app. Because it’s not being monitored, an autoban kicked in and not only suspended their profiles, but actually blocked their devices from being able to make new profiles. Countless emails have been sent. In app messages from other users. And posts made. And still, no response has come from US or Russia. It’s been weeks. Do yourself a favour and don’t join until it’s back to being monitored and concerns addressed. Especially if your looking for honest and direct advice or don’t mind a difference of opinion. Because all you’ll get now is coddling because either the honest women are banned or too afraid of getting banned now. Mom.Life: get your act together and FIX this mess! #freebeakymcspence ### 1/5 — Horrible mom app *2019-05-20, version 4.34.0* The worst mom app alive! If you want to get bullied then this app is for you. 🤦🏼‍♀️ ### 1/5 — If there was a ZERO star rating, I’d give it here. *2019-05-15, version 4.33.1* The people who run this app are horrible at their jobs.. or maybe entirely too good at them. I have a few points to make so please stick with me here. Firstly, they sell you on joining an “open, honest, friendly community of women” where we “treat each other how we would like to be treated ourselves” but they don’t do anything to actually implement these values. Nothing, from there fail of a monitoring system to their choice of vernacular when interacting with users, would lead you to believe they care about their users. Their only agenda is having the most users on they can get. At least on their American side. I have no clue what goes on with their Russian audience but I have a feeling it’s better-run. Perhaps because Russian users make up for over 3/4s of their user base, they simply don’t care to worry about their American users. Regardless, they had a broken monitoring system before and they have one now. The only difference is that now the staff will just blatantly ignore your messages and emails. They’re highly disrespectful. They had workers on their payroll for years that they just asked to “step down” for no reason. Come to find out it was to implement this new type of monitoring where they don’t have to pay anyone because they don’t care if fake profiles are up, if photo stealers stay on this app after multiple violations, men or pedophiles join, and actually this brings me to my final point.. in their terms of use they make it VERY CLEAR that taking their own guidelines into consideration is up to their complete and sole discretion. Meaning, the only people who have to follow guidelines are users and they can and will ban you for whatever reason they see fit—even if it isn’t against guidelines. I’ve seen it before. Won’t see it again. Buh-bye! So long, mom.life.
