But everything else works. If the text bugs out on your iOS, change something and try again. So much fun. But I recently edited my review because I haven’t been able to save a finished meme or upload one directly from the app for months. This is quite annoying and it makes it harder to use the app. I used to be able to do these things and then one day the features were removed on my phone. I see the last update was 5 years ago so I’m not optimistic that this will be fixed, but I hope it is. ### 2/5 — Good when it works!! *2024-11-03, version 1.2.1.8* Needs an update/fix! That being said, I would gladly pay $2.99 for an expansion that allowed the same captioning feature but over a video. It constantly saves over (erases) existing memes for some reason. It seems like you can only save ONE of each meme template even if it is a different picture with different text. Also there is no way to delete memes once you save them, furthering the problem and The “momus picks” seem to never be updated. For an app that costs $5-10 bucks, I honestly expected a lot more. Customer service hasn’t gotten back to me about a fix despite 3 emails ### 1/5 — Lack of features and IAP’s are BS *2018-03-18, version 1.1.1* They dont really have that many features and unless you pay for in app purchases, you will be bombarded with their Momus watermark everywhere. And they offer you no good layouts for free so you would have to make a purchase of $5 just to get any layout besides the single image option. There are much better meme generator apps available. This app is OK to say the least due to the overall terrible design and decent functionality. ### 1/5 — Bug makes it unusable *2018-02-15, version 1.1* After enjoying the app for about a week and paying for the upgrade I now find none of the meme or Reddit photos will load. I’m unable to make new memes. I’ve emailed support, restarted my phone, and updated the app all to no avail. I also love the interface and how easy it is to use. With Momus I’ve been able to stay creative and consistent because I genuinely enjoy using the app. I saw some people say the app “needs more” but the simplicity of the app is what makes it great. I like pulling into a CVS parking lot when I have an idea and busting out a meme in 2 minutes because I’m not distracted by 1000 font options and editing tools. I also like consistency with how my memes look and this keeps my ig account pleasing to the eye. Other app settings refresh every time you open the app meaning you have to mess with the font size, the justification, etc. I’d love to see video capability and text overlay in the next update.
