You need to manually download your CIBC transactions to make this app work. OBSI or FCAC need to get involved.

If you are a Canadian don’t bother choosing this app. It is so frustrating! There are constant connection issues with all Canadian banks. I utilize 4 different Canadian Banks and have connection issues at one or another on a daily, weekly basis. 
I will NOT be renewing ! Urgh

I tried YNAB and excel budgeting but Monarch was the only tool that stuck. So easy to use and provides information in easy to understand and sometimes very cool ways. As a visual learner, Monarch really helps me feel secure with my money.

It’s very inconsistent about how it shows updates. For example, it will tell me that the transactions are updated for an account, but in a different view, it tells me the account is disconnected.  Then when I reconnect the account, the net worth jumps up in a spike instead of spreading out over the time that it was disconnected. This is the fourth or fifth issue I’ve had with this app in the year. I’ve had it. I’m looking for other options that offer greater value for the price.

I’ve used free and lower-cost apps over the years, but this one is well worth the slightly higher cost of some (and actually lower cost than others!). It was quick for me to get familiar with the interface, and searches are readily customizable. Also supports sharing, which helps with dual-worker families. Better than many(/all?) first-party apps, which have misaligned incentives for my use case.

The amount of times that I would have to reconnect my accounts or that it would randomly not allow me to connect an account for weeks at a time was countless. I’ll just use my banking app instead of paying for a product that doesn’t work.
