This was before they became what I now think is the worst bank I have ever chosen to be with. I am waiting for my next payday before closing my account as all monese has done since I’ve been with them is add a charge to whatever they can find. They were really convenient and easy to use in the start - and now you charged for even receiving money. Yes, monese take a £0.99 fee everytime someone sends YOU money. If you would like to send money out, you are charged £1.29 a transaction. Even as someone who who has never had a monese card and frequently uses them… ordering a card costs £4.95. Now if you would like to avoid these charges , you have to avoid the basic pay as you go package and subscribe to their monthly charges to help you avoid SOME of the charges they’ve added. I’ve gotten every friend I’ve referred this bank to, to close their accounts too as it is pure greed and a ridiculous approach. You get charged 0.99 for any money that comes in and you get charged 1.29 for every transfer. It’s a rubbish service. Ultimately switched to another neo bank in 2024 and have just found out I’ve been retroactively charged monthly inactivity fees ever since.
