## What is Monet?

Most people who send money home have had the same experience. You send $200, and somehow $170 arrives. There was no fee on the screen — the cost was folded into the exchange rate, where you couldn't see it.

Monet is a cross-border money account built around not doing that. When you set up a transfer you see the exchange rate and the fee before you confirm, and what your recipient gets is what you were shown. Money usually lands within 30 minutes.

Here is how the account actually works.

Putting money in. Fund a transfer with Apple Pay using the card already in your wallet, pay by debit or credit card, or move money in from a bank account. Where local pay-ins are supported, you can fund from a local method in your own currency. You can also deposit digital dollars directly.

Sending it. Monet delivers over the rails people use at home: ACH in the US, SEPA in Europe, SPEI in Mexico, Faster Payments in the UK, Pix in Brazil, Bre-B in Colombia, and payouts across Asia Pacific including India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. Your recipient gets local currency in their own account or mobile wallet. They do not need Monet, or any understanding of how it got there.

Getting paid. Once you are verified, Monet gives you a US account and routing number of your own to hand to an employer or a client. It receives direct deposit, ACH including same-day, and domestic wires. Other currencies too: a euro account on SEPA and SEPA Instant, an Australian dollar account, a UAE dirham account, and a Mexican peso account on SPEI.

Paying the people who work for you. Share a join code and your team joins your organization. Pay contractors one at a time or in a batch, in their local currency, and keep a record of who was paid what and when.

Payments that repeat. Rent on the first, money home every payday. Set the transfer up once, choose the date, and let it send itself; make it recurring if it comes round every cycle. You see the quote when you schedule it, and again in the receipt when it goes out.

Pay by text. Send to any phone number, even someone who has never heard of Monet — it waits to be claimed and returns to you if it is not.

BUILT ON TRUSTED, BATTLE-TESTED INFRASTRUCTURE
Every regulated banking and payment step runs through licensed specialists:

- Bridge verifies identity and issues your local-currency account details. Bridge is a Stripe company, acquired for $1.1 billion.
- Stripe powers Apple Pay funding, trusted by millions of businesses.
- Coinbase and Transak power card and Apple Pay on-ramps.
- Stables (stables.money) issues named accounts in Australian dollars and UAE dirhams, in your own name rather than a pooled one, and handles verification and local payouts across Asia Pacific, Australia and the UAE. Over $2 billion processed.

Bank-grade rails, not homegrown plumbing. US account details are issued through Bridge Building, Inc., funds held at Lead Bank, Member FDIC. Verification is required before an account is issued.

Monet is a financial technology company, not a bank. Monet is not a payroll tax filing service and does not calculate, withhold, or remit taxes. Which rails, currencies, and features are available to you depends on your verification status and where you are.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-27

Setting up an account to fund from is one tap away again — the verification card is back on the home screen, where it belongs.

News from the countries you send to now sits on the home screen, and you can collapse it if you would rather not see it.

Notifications tell you what actually landed in your wallet, and which provider funded it.

Telegram payments have been retired. That tab is now your card.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-21

Exchange is new in this version. It is one place to turn what you have into what you want: fund with Apple Pay or a card, move from your balance, or start from crypto you already hold, and send it out to a bank account or a mobile money wallet abroad. You pick what you are starting from and what you want to end up with, and the rate and fee are shown before anything moves.

You can now see your own balances while you choose. The picker lists what you actually hold with live amounts and values, so you are not guessing what is available before you start a transfer.

Sending abroad now covers more of the way people are really paid. Alongside bank transfer, you can send to mobile money wallets in the markets where that is how money moves, and the delivery options shown for a country are the ones that country actually supports.

Confirming a transfer now uses Face ID. Large or unusual transfers ask for it before anything leaves your account, with your passcode as a fallback.

Also in this release:
- Your profile and notifications moved into the top of the Home screen, so getting to your account details or your activity is one tap from anywhere.
- Notifications now show the asset each one is about, so a completed transfer is recognisable at a glance.
- Scheduled transfers, the deposit screen and the card screens were cleaned up, with clearer limits shown per funding option before you choose one.
- Fixed a problem where the balance chart could briefly show a drop that had not happened.
- Fixed sign-up for several countries where verification could stall before it finished.
