I’ve used MongoLime for over a year now and it’s for sure the best iOS based MongoDB app out there, however, it isn’t without its flaws.

I’ve never been able to create an index using the app. Always get an error stating that each field in the index, is not a valid specification, but if i created the same index via mongosh, then it goes through fine. So I think the way MongoLime appends those queries, doesn’t actually works and they just haven’t noticed for a long time.

Mongo Lime needs a mongosh feature. I only use MongoLime when I’m not near a computer, and most of the times I find that just using mongosh would be faster than waiting for the app to retrieve data in order to then render appropriate UI Components. Not to mention that some features just don’t exist on the app, but would do if done via mongosh.

I gave this five stars because it indeed provides a mongo client that can be used on iPad. I haven’t had any problems using it so far. I think the developers could’ve done a better job with the UI, but again, I’m after the tooling here. It does its job.

Нормальное приложение, понятный интерфейс, умеет подключаться по SSH, удобно редактировать и добавлять записи, создавать новые коллекции. При все плюсах есть решающий минус — нет возможности просматривать, а соответственно редактировать коллекции файлов. Коллекции с файлами и чанками просто не отображаются. Mongo часто используется именно для хранения файлов с атрибутами, а для этого приложение абсолютно бесполезно. Разработчик на запросы в приложении не отвечает.

My collection is about 1m docs deep. Mongo Compass paginates by 20 docs so it doesn’t have to pull the entire collection. I can’t wait hours and put that load on my db each time I use this app. Pretty much paid $12 for nothing. Please fix :/
