## What is MonoBand?

MonoBand turns any song you own into a full practice and remix studio — on your iPhone, iPad, and in your car with CarPlay.
Split it, sing it, read the lyrics, learn the chords. No internet, no subscription.

Using an on-device AI model running on Apple silicon, MonoBand separates a track into 6 independent instruments — vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and "other" — in minutes. Then it gives you everything you need to learn, practice, and create:

SEPARATE & MIX 6-stem AI separation, 100% on device Per-stem volume, instant solo, and mute 3-band EQ and stereo pan on every channel Per-channel and full-song waveforms — tap to jump anywhere Non-destructive clip editor: split, move, mute, and fade regions

PRACTICE Transpose ±24 semitones without changing tempo Change speed without changing pitch Draw an A > B practice loop right on the waveform and drag its edges Section markers (verse, chorus, solo) as flags on the timeline Automatic chord detection, synced to playback and transposed with you Automatic BPM and key detection

LYRICS & TRANSLATION Read the lyrics off the separated vocal — not the full mix, so recognition is far better Lyrics scroll in time with the music, with the current line highlighted Show a translation under each line, in the language you choose Built-in editor: fix a word, split or merge lines, nudge timings, replay any line Everything runs on your device — no audio or text is ever uploaded

KARAOKE Any song in your library becomes karaoke — the melody comes from its own vocal stem Sing along and see your pitch land on the note, with a live score and streaks Stars and a summary at the end of every take Scrub back to a tricky phrase without restarting

CARPLAY Browse your songs, playlists, and favorites on the car display One-tap Karaoke — mute the vocals and sing along Practice Mix: mute or solo any instrument while you drive Loop the current song, restart it, and pick up where you left off

RECORD Record up to 4 of your own takes over the song Vocal effects: reverb, delay, compressor, noise gate, low-cut, distortion Per-device recording alignment and per-take timing shift Non-destructive trim on your recordings

LIBRARY & PLAYBACK Playlists, folders, and favorites — with continuous play, shuffle, and repeat Playback resumes exactly where you left off, per song AirPlay 2 and Lock Screen / Control Center playback with next/previous Export individual stems, the full mix, just the loop, or an aligned multitrack ZIP for your DAW (WAV / MP3) Back up your library — or just the songs you pick — into a single ZIP, and import it back on any device; songs you already have are detected and skipped Light and Dark mode · Available in 8 languages

PRIVACY FIRST Everything happens on your device. MonoBand has no servers, no analytics, no third-party tracking, and no account. Your songs, stems, lyrics, and recordings never leave your phone.

Import audio from Files, the Photos app (videos too), your Music library, or record fresh. Note: DRM-protected streams (Apple Music, Spotify) cannot be imported — use songs you own.

Made with care for musicians, learners, and producers.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 30.0 — 2026-08-05

Synced lyrics, and translation as you listen

This is the feature only MonoBand can do properly: the lyrics are read from the isolated vocal stem, not the full mix.
With no drums or guitars in the way, recognition is far better — and the lyrics stay in time with the music as it plays.

Lyrics scroll with the song, with the current line highlighted.
A translation under each line, in the language you choose — translated entirely on your device.
Speech recognition isn't perfect on singing, so there's a built-in editor: fix a word, split or merge lines, nudge the timing, and play any line on its own to hear what's actually sung.
Got the language wrong? Read the vocals again in another one.

Back up and move your library

Export the songs you choose — originals, separated channels and recordings — into a single ZIP.
Import it back on any device. MonoBand shows what's inside first, so you pick what to restore.
Songs you already have are detected, flagged and skipped — and the summary tells you how many duplicates it passed over.

Also in this update:

A scrub bar in Karaoke — jump back to a tricky phrase without restarting your take.
The project screen is reorganized, so recording, karaoke and lyrics follow in a clear order.

Lyrics need the song to be split first — that's where the vocal comes from. Note that speech recognition and translation aren't available in Hebrew yet; those are iOS limitations and will open up with system updates.

Thanks for using MonoBand!

### 21.0 — 2026-07-31

Much smarter chord detection — and MonoBand comes to the car

Chord detection just leveled up.
Analysis now runs on the separated stems — without the drums and without the vocals, the two biggest noise sources — so the harmony reaches the engine clean:

The bass stem acts as an anchor — a chord whose root matches what the bass plays gets priority.
The engine detects the song's key and favors chords that fit it — fewer major/minor mix-ups.
The decision window adapts to the song's tempo, so changes land on time — including the final chord, which used to get swallowed.

MonoBand is now on CarPlay:

Browse songs, playlists and favorites right from your car screen.
Practice while you drive — mute or solo any stem with a tap, karaoke mode to drop the vocals, loop and restart-song.
Fully localized in all of the app's languages.

Library backup & import:

Export your whole library — songs, separated stems and recordings — into a single ZIP.
Import a ZIP back to restore your library or move it to another device, leaving your existing projects untouched.

Chords are recomputed automatically when you open a song.
Split the song first — that's when detection is at its best.

Thanks for using MonoBand!

### 20.0 — 2026-07-23

MonoBand in your car — CarPlay!

Connect your iPhone and MonoBand shows up on the car display: browse your songs, playlists, and favorites, and play them back-to-back.
The Now Playing screen has a Practice Mix — mute the vocals for karaoke with a single tap, mute or solo any instrument, loop the current song, and jump back to its start.
Everything is simple, drive-safe taps, and playback picks up right where you left off on the phone.

One timeline — loop and sections on the waveform
Press and hold on the waveform, then drag, to draw a practice loop — and grab either edge any time to fine-tune it.
Everything outside the loop dims, so your practice section stands out instantly.
Sections show up as small flags along the timeline — tap one to jump to it, press and hold to rename or delete.

More room for what matters
We tightened the spacing across the app — a lot more channels now fit on one screen.

Continuous-play improvements
Skipped to another song and came back? It resumes right where you left it.
And next/previous track now work from the Lock Screen and your headphones too.

Thanks for using MonoBand!

### 18.0 — 2026-07-14

One timeline — loop and sections on the waveform
Until now the practice loop and the section markers were separate text rows, and you couldn't see where they actually sat in the song. Now they live on the waveform itself:

Press and hold on the waveform, then drag, to draw a practice loop — and grab either edge any time to fine-tune it. Everything outside the loop dims, so your practice section stands out instantly. Tap the x to clear it.

Sections show up as small flags along the timeline — tap one to jump to it, press and hold to rename or delete, and press and hold the strip to drop a new section right there.

More room for what matters
We tightened the spacing across the app — the top of the main and project screens, the channel rows, and the playback bar. Together with dropping the two old loop/section rows, a lot more channels now fit on one screen.

Thanks for using MonoBand!

### 17.0 — 2026-06-30

Clean stem separation on iOS 26
We fixed an issue where stem separation came out as noise or distorted on iOS 26 devices (such as the iPad Air 5). Splitting is clean and clear again — Drums, Vocals, Bass, Guitar, Piano, and Other, each in its own track.

Please note: this version requires iOS 26 or later.

Thanks for using MonoBand!
