This version is very a much dumbed down which is so disappointing. The graphics have come a long way if this is the same company that has done Roller Coaster Tycoon. It follows the same format. You earn money based on the rent you collect from each property. You collect cards that are used to upgrade houses and businesses. The one thing that is different from RCT is that there are these mini games you play with the utilities. This is where my complaint lies. They’re really cool games! However, I can’t complete them in a timely manner. And I don’t mean, “Oh shoot, I was soo close! Let me add on 10 gems to finish this”. I mean, I’m no where close to finishing it. So it’s frustrating to see the “wrench” on my screen all the time. They’re great games, just take the timers away from some of them. ### 4/5 — Buildings *2023-07-13* It’s really quite confusing. Plus the buildings do not fit properly on the property and they’re very difficult to try and manouver into a space that it will fit. ### 4/5 — I Love the game, but……. *2023-07-10* The game is fairly simple and easy to understand. However, there are some items of play that are not explained well enough to incorporate them into my gameplay. Some things you figure out as you play such as the bubbles atop the buildings. They have little icons for things that particular building needs and when you either transfer or build a structure that contains that item (let’s say it Tuxedos). You place a Building that yields tuxedos on the same grid as the building that needs it (lets say on the Oriental grid.) When you tack it down, you don’t really notice it, but it ADDS a percentage to the Rental Income for that property. I was not made aware of that until Level 21. Weird! Not sure what the objective is either. Is it just to accumulate 1’s and 0’s in the form of money? And whoever has the MOST money, wins? IDK. I even got my hubby to install it on his phone and he has no problems…. Its just me !!! Was so looking forward to playing it. It always makes my phone hot, and of course it runs my battery down quickly. It always takes forever to open, there’s no way to turn the animations off, you never have enough homes/businesses/hotels to place on all your properties and I absolutely HATE the police station and public transport. Once my phone gets hot, the game animations start to slow down, so if I’m trying to collect rent, it takes a good 5-10 seconds to actually get it; don’t be in the middle of fixing one of your public locations while your phone is hot because then your movements are delayed because of the heat. If you’re doing the second round of fixing a public location, DO NOT swipe away a text, go to another app, nothing that will interrupt you in the midst, because then it’ll automatically take your time away to try and get you to use diamonds. It takes forever to earn diamonds too. I’ve acquired the Paris property I think, but haven’t even tried to play in that city. I have an iPhone X and my software is current. ### 1/5 — Lost interest very fast *2023-04-25* I was really excited when I found this, and I wanted to love it. In fact, I did love it… for about a day and a half. Then it got old. As others have stated, there is little opportunity to build after a certain point, so I have properties that are bare or nearly bare. I have only acquired properties up to Tennessee Avenue. I don’t have the cards to build new hotels or houses, nor am I getting those cards. I primarily get upgrades and occasionally a business, which doesn’t do me much good without hotels or houses. I have three properties that have little to no buildings, but the missions want me to keep buying more properties, and do what with them??? I’m so incredibly disappointed. Great idea, but poorly executed if you run out of game play in two days. ### 1/5 — Redundant mini games and rent challenge *2023-03-31* Graphics are great, which is the ONLY reason it gets 3 stars. HOWEVER, the mini games are always the same, waaaay too frequent, and the rent challenge you can’t turn off if you don’t want to participate. I’m getting tired of being put into a rent challenge just bc I’m collecting my rent on my spaces. I don’t want to always be a part of that challenge! I should have the option to not do it. But the only way that I can not do it is if I don’t collect my rent for the whole time the challenge is going on. Which is ridiculous! The mini challenges are exactly the same for each country, too frequent, and just boring. Remove them or put in something different! I’m now almost to the point where I have all of the places on each country! Why not add more to each of them and give it a different look for once? Have an interface that changes every now and then? Mini game is like Water Works and Electric Co. together but it’s moving and turning the gas pipes. Unlocks at level 35 in all cities. 2. Jail should be added somewhere in 2024 and will be a utility and unlocks at level 37 in all cities. Mini Game is like Hospital mini game and waste management combined but the patients are prisoners. Unlock at level 36 in all cities. 3. New city Perth. The same as the other current cities but the city themed. 4th city in the game. Unlocks at level 30 in London. 4. New city New York City. The same as the other current cities but the city themed. 5th city in the game. Unlocks at level 35 in Perth. 5. Custom city. This is a city you can name, draw buildings in 3D, make up properties name (except utilities), Shape the districts/properties, customise even the weather, customise the place and environment, play on it and of course, buy and level up. This city is the sixth and last city in the game. Unlocks at level 40, 50, 75, 90 or 100 in either city. ### 5/5 — Not what I expected *2023-08-15* Have reached level 10, there are pay to upgrade options, however I have been playing non stop when I get a chance for a couple of days and have not been held up by a pay wall. You can build your own city, all the properties are the same, and they go in order (which makes sense). There’s houses, hotels, businesses, and decorations (to increase rent per hour/ improve business popularity). There’s also 3 cities too, which makes it take a while to beat. You start with Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA 🇺🇸 then Paris, France 🇫🇷 and then finally London, United Kingdom 🇬🇧 . There are also railroads too, and utilities. But there are a BUNCH of them. There is Water Works, Fire Station, Waste Management, Electric Company, Hospital, and Public Transportation. And they are all minigames! You can play them when there is a little wrench icon above it. There was one for the PC in the early 2000’s, but this one is much better. And there is missions where you have to do certain things to get a XP, card pack, and cash prize. Only problem is that it is hard to get the buildings that you need for missions. They come in the card packs. 85% of the time I just get upgrades, which is kind of annoying.
