Why do I have to watch an ad once a day to play the game? I do not love the constant crashes every time there’s a new event. ### 2/5 — Why do I have to watch an ad to even play the basic game?? *2025-11-12* The devs thought it was a fantastic idea to just make it mandatory to watch an ad to start playing the game’s standard puzzles when this was never a thing before. Ads were optional for perks for a quest but never mandatory and this is a slap in the face. The ad viewing does *only* happen once every 24h but it should not be a thing. Period. Who’s to say it becomes an ad every 5 quests, or ads every quest? Lost trust now. ### 4/5 — Monster hunter X candy crush works really well *2025-09-22, version 2.20.01* The game is a bit on the cuter side of monster hunter but still have the cool feel of the monsters in there monster hunter stories models which works well with the cats and about gameplay it’s smooth and fun and some payed features including clothes for the cat or other cosmetic for your island that you get to decorate. However I don’t like how if you lose all 10 lives you have to buy more or wait the timer to regain a heart but a solid fun monster hunter game and I expect nothing less.8/10 game ### 2/5 — Great visuals and Palico customizability, but forced puzzle hints ruin it. *2025-09-20, version 2.20.01* I really like the look of the game, the customizability of your Palico, and the overall world design. The gameplay itself is fun too. Unfortunately, the constant flashing/shaking puzzle hints completely kill the experience for me. You can’t turn them off, and they force “help” on you even when you just want to figure things out for yourself. This was enough to make me quit when the game first released, and I came back hoping the developers had added a toggle by now - but alas, they still haven’t. Because of this, I’ll be uninstalling once again. Sometimes the game crashes 3-4 times before starting a level. A couple of months earlier I would have given more stars. Shame, because I enjoyed the game up to level 761. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Ads Constantly Break the Game *2026-02-20, version 2.23.01* The optional ads that you can watch for a power boost have a significant chance of freezing with no ability to close. This causes to lose not only the ad power boost but any of the precious power boosts you used prior to the ad launching. The ads will also always play sound even if you have the entire game muted. This means if you’re playing music while playing the game the ad sound with airpods on, this game will cause hearing damage as the ad blasts extremely loud sound effects from the start. Devs will likely never fix this though, as the ad bugs helps them make more money and destroys power ups the player earned for free. ### 1/5 — ADS *2026-02-17, version 2.23.00* Why am I watching an ad to play a quest???? Pointless and scummy. ### 1/5 — 0 stars *2025-10-06, version 2.20.01* You are forced to watch ads everyday. ### 1/5 — Dishonestly designed *2025-09-09* It’s impressive how well the game is rigged - I can struggle with a level over and over even using a booster I own, but as soon as I watch an ad that gives me the exact same booster, I magically beat the level in less than half the moves and all the colors match up perfectly? Every time I play I get the deep sense that it is unfair design - but somehow seems *just* perfectly calibrated to let me win at the point where I’m ready to give up, or when I do stop trying, I magically beat the level on the first try next time I reopen the game. The powerups begin behaving erratically later in the game - a bomb + boomerang sent right into other powerups I could have used instead of an important section, or boomerangs hitting random pieces instead of the high priority pieces causing me to lose the level. Also, recommended moves that make no sense or do nothing when a far superior move is available. That’s all fine. Whatever. Standard manipulation tactics for a monetized match 3 game. But forcing me to watch an ad before I get to play the game at ALL, now? Wowza. The game is cute and entertaining if you don’t mind watching ads to win or don’t find it frustrating to lose. I stopped watching ads on principle because it’s crazy that that makes me instantly win, and if it takes me 10 hearts to pass a level, so be it. ### 1/5 — Ads have now ruined *2025-09-09, version 2.20.01* I loved this game despite its incessant need to constantly update. Now I’m deleting it.
