It allows children to explore the world at their own pace but provides plenty of moments for creativity and experimentation as well as problem solving. Children can customize their monster by picking up different noses, eyes, arms, legs or wings. The monster you build will do different things based on what features it currently has, so children can change their monster to better navigate and explore the world. The other characters and the environment it self responds to touch interaction so there ends up being a lot of things in the app to reward children’s curiosity. Overall this is a really lovely, creative app that I think a lot of children will enjoy. ### 5/5 — Excellent Explorathon *2015-04-26* We've had both kids playing Monster Mingle for the last day and a half - they're 5 & a half and nearly three, and both love it. The best thing is the balance of being easy to play, but wide to explore. "Really fun for exploring and has cool features like going under water and in the sky as well as on the ground" says the 5yo (who has recently discovered the word 'features'...) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Boring *2020-11-11* My son played this for about 10 minutes and was bored. There is no discernible objective to it. You just create a monster and then walk around the same place. There aren’t different levels or anything. I decided to visit it recently, It was still as entertaining and fun as before. But there are a few bugs, The bird's top beak isn't attached to it's head, which I thought was weird but still, this game is fun anyways. I love the ocean and sky options. The monster is just really engaging for your children. I bought this to entertain a very lively five-year-old when she comes to visit and she asks to play it every time. I hope there will be more to come... I'd still like to see different worlds to roam your monsters in. There is more 'stuff' to find and do now, so good job Cowly Owl! Brought this along for a 5hr flight. My 4yo loved it and it held his attention for longer than I expected. He still plays it a couple of weeks after the flight. I wish there was more food to find and maybe a couple of different worlds but that's the only critique. Maybe in an upgrade?
