It says that i need to be a part of gameclub to access the game, which is a paid subscription. This is bad enough, but i cant even subscribe if i want to. It says that it encountered an unexpected problems while inputting my email, and thats it. Love this game, don’t love what they did with it. ### 4/5 — Having problems *2023-04-08* It’s a very fun game- but very frustrated. There’s no way to contact you guys…I spent over an hour doing the lich bonus mode and got 4000+ kills…was still alive…and then my game crashed. I do not wish to spend another hour in that chaos, and I did not receive my rewards- which would have been multiple soulstones and a load of gems. Verrrrry frustrating is an understatement. Please fix. ### 3/5 — Disappointed a little *2021-07-23, version 1.0.24* Love the game and I played it years ago and beat it a couple times along with legendary wars and stellar wars but the game got too old and did not work. I don’t remember if I had to pay for the games but I DID spend a lot of money on them, so it sucks that I lost all my progress and now have to pay a subscription to play when I already payed a lot to begin with. Anyways I under stand this wasn’t directly your fault but im dissapointed because I Love the game and the series and now I can’t play without paying 6 dollars a month or having limited play and ads. Today I was looking in the App Store and I found this I was super pumped up to play it. It was just like I remember then I get to the 5th level. I HAVE TO PAY??? This is not EA play, I am super bummed. I know you can e mail proof but that old phone is broken. I remember all of the monsters too. I don’t remember their names but I do remember them. My favorite was the tarantula and the vampire. If I could save enough I would get a dragon. They were my favorite. I am super bummed and if you guys can e mail me that would be very helpful. ### 3/5 — fix the upgrade *2020-07-17, version 1.0.7* can't upgrade any troops. always half screened. ### 3/5 — I have to pay to play this *2020-06-11* Why do I have to pay in the 5 battle it keeps asking for me to pay money to play a free game subscribe to play. your game is awesome but the fact that you don’t let people play and ask them for money that’s just very bad if you would allow people to play free they will subscribe them self please stop asking people to pay to play this game ### 4/5 — A Quick (but quite long) Note to Those Who Already Downloaded the Game earlier *2020-05-28, version 1.0.7* If you’re someone who downloaded this game when it first came out (like me) back around 2012 or a few years after, you can actually contact GameClub and you can download the game for free WITHOUT THE SUBSCRIPTION. THIS SAME PROCESS WORKS FOR LEGENDARY WARS. All I had to do was download the game here and send a picture to GameClub telling them that I had previously downloaded the game. BY THE WAY TO DO THIS GO INTO YOUR PREVIOUS PURCHASES IN THE APP STORE AND FIND YOUR PURCHASED GAMES AND YOU CAN FIND THE GAME THERE IF YOU’VE DOWNLOADED IT AND TAKE A SCREENSHOT. A day later, after having made an account (I think), I was awarded access to ALL CONTENT and DID NOT HAVE TO PAY A DIME AT ANY POINT whether it was in the campaign or other modes. DON’T WORRY, MAKING AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM WILL NOT FORCE YOU TO PURCHASE ALL OF THEIR OTHER GAMES. Again if you’re a person that downloaded the game earlier and want either this game or Legendary Wars back, follow these steps and as of 5/28/20 it’ll still work to this day. The only reason this game gets 4 stars and not 5 is the subscription service in order to play the game for those who did not previously download the game, and the exclusion of in-app purchases, (that’s a first) mainly because they were SO CHEAP and you could easily progress if you were stuck after getting like 5000 gems for only 2 bucks. Anyways, if you are to the end of this review, I applaud you and please take advantage of this opportunity if you can, because as far as I can tell, there are not, and seemingly won’t be any good tower defense games coming out in the near future. ### 5/5 — Loved this game as a kid *2020-05-26, version 1.0.7* Great game ### 4/5 — Same issue with Legendary Wars *2020-05-09* Ok this is a amazing throw back and game but there is one problem in both games. In the original you would have to pay soul stones or the blue gems for some characters but in this you don't. Please fix. **Developer response:** Thanks for the review! We actually adjusted this (with the help of the original developers) to work better with the removal of in-app purchases — to ensure the game works just as smoothly without the need to purchase any extra moonstones. You've got eagle eyes to spot this difference but it's a small intentional adjustment to move away from in-app purchases. The sequel has a fraction of the content and is filled from start to finish with bugs and glitches that often stop you from progressing or completing anything. It felt like a lazily put together quick cash grab of recycled content and broken mechanics. ### 1/5 — Disappointing that they make you pay for a game like this *2021-06-14* I had monster wars and legendary wars when I was younger, and wanted to re-download them only to find out you needed to subscribe to the app developers scam. I sent an email to them saying I have previously played in order to get my account back, but they didn’t bother to answer. Very disappointed ### 1/5 — Mandatory subscriptions are a scam *2021-05-13* I thought that if I didn’t get the subscription I’d have to watch ads during the game which is tolerable, but it doesn’t let you past level 5 unless you subscribe, which is bogus. I should be able to just buy one game for 6$ instead of paying 5$ every month to have access to a hundred games of which I only play one. GameClub is just trying to squeeze money out of people who forget to unsubscribe. I accidentally bought the 1 month subscription but good thing it’s free for the first month. I played this game for a long time (when I was younger) and was close to beating the game. I contacted support to restore my account with a new email (because I forgot my old email) but hopefully they will let me play with the new email. I really loved and miss this game because of the cool fantasy and animation. Hopefully I can play this game just as I bought it before.
